Quintin Stump
Quintin Christopher Stump, age 84, of Viola, farmer and stockman, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012.
A rosary was held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, with funeral Mass to be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 14, both at St. John’s Catholic Church, Clonmel.
Quintin was born July 22, 2012 in rural St. Mark’s, Kan. He was the first of seven children born to his parents, John Theodore Stump and Frances Helen (Dold) Stump. On July 30, 1952, Quintin married
the love of his life and wife of almost 60 years, Joyce (Girrens) Stump.
Quintin was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances (Dold) Stump; and sister, Vera Mae Goodwin. Survivors include his wife, Joyce (Girrens) Stump; children, Debbie (Dr. Paul) Carroll of Wichita, Denise Feder of Belle Plaine, Caroline (Sgt. James) Haly of Clearwater, Dana (Jeff) Johnston of Olathe, and Chris (Angie) Stump of Viola; siblings, Don (Marion) Stump of Kansas City, Kan., Janey Runge of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Fr. James Stump of San Francisco, Calif., Paul (Carmen) Stump of Burbank, Calif., and Mary Kay (Jim) Young of Wichita; grandchildren, Mitchell, Jacob and Zachary Woods, Lindsay, Daniel and Elizabeth Carroll, Colton and Shelby Feder, Benjamin and Madeline Johnston, and Mackenzie Stump.

Dorothy Luckner
Dorothy D. (Hukle) Luckner of Clearwater, 91, homemaker, restaurant and USD 264 cook, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012. Visitation was Friday, June 8, at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9, at First Christian Church in Clearwater.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Claude Hukle and Myrtle Mae (Whitesell) Hukle; husband, Evan; son and daughter-in-law, LeRoy and Sallye Luckner; sisters, Louise Stevens and Mary Ruth Heitman; and great-grandchild, Jessie Ewertz. Survivors include her children, Mary (Jim) Ewertz, Glenda (Den) Gladfelter, Barbara (Larry) Richardson, and Bryan (Christy) Luckner, all of Clearwater, and Blaine (Robin) Luckner of Conway Springs; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great grandchildren.

Ruth Heithaus
Ruth Helen (Hampel) Heithaus entered eternal life on June 11. Ruth was born on May 21, 1934 to Fred and Helen (Beat) Hampel in Pretty Prairie. She married
Kenneth (Kenn) on October 11, 1958. He survives with their children Nancy (Ray) Vail, Aretha Heithaus, Kirk (Sandy) Heithaus, Kris (Darla) Heithaus all of Wichita. Grandchildren: Andrew (Jamie), Jennifer (Quinn), Eric (Erica), Mike (Brianne), Breanna (Josh), Grant (Sadie), Brittany, Brock, Brooke, Vincent and Ryan; and eight great-grandchildren: Jocelyn, Reagan, Kennadie, Jaxen, Linken, CoraLee, Mariah and Sophia.
Proceeded in death by parents, Fred and Helen Hampel and brothers Alfred and Norbert Hampel. Surviving by brothers and sisters: Berneice Bergkamp, John (Flo) Hampel, Florence Kelsey, Ernestine Hon, Paul (Phyllis) Hampel; sister-in-laws, Olivia Hampel and Marian Hampel all of Wichita. Brothers Martin (Patricia) of Kingman; Sisters Martha Kerschen of Garden Plain and Gerry (Phil) Ziegler of Lake Arrowhead, Medicine Lodge.
Rosary will be on Thursday, June 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday, June 15 at 10:30 a.m. Both services will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 119th Street North & Central Ave., Wichita, KS.

Roger Haynie
Roger Glen Haynie of Goddard went to be with his Abba Father on Friday, June 8 at Wesley Medical Center. While on the Rails to Trails, Roger suffered a bicycle accident, which resulted in severe trauma to the head.
Roger was born in Kansas City, Mo., September 14, 1946 to Floyd and Gertrude Haynie. He enlisted May 4, 1965 in the USAF and assigned to SAC Headquarters at Offutt AFB, Omaha, Nebr. After short assignments in Genoa, Nebr., he left for Da Nang, Vietnam where he served until his discharge on April 30, 1969. At the age of 23, Roger began college and obtained a degree from the University of Missouri. He later received a MBA from Baker University. After working as an engineer at Boeing Aircraft for 25 years, Roger then went on to work as the IT Specialist for the Goddard School District at Explorer Elementary. In May 2011 Roger retired from USD 265.
Roger is survived by his beloved wife and high school sweetheart of 45 years as of June 24, Karen and their three children, Chad of Tampa, Fl., Erika of Iwakuni, Japan, Nicole of Wichita; his sisters Beverly, Barb and June; his brother Sherman; grandchildren Isaac, Moriah Kate, Selah Jane and Luke.
Roger was enjoying retirement by starting a toy airplane business, walking in the Bataan Marathon, biking and hiking with friends, and relaxing with his wife. The biggest highlight this past year was his trip to Japan to see his daughter, son-in-law and grandkids.
Roger was a man of many loves; love for his wife, children, grandchildren, the outdoors, relationships, coffee, donuts, bookstores, but most of all he was filled with the love for his God. He was a man who loved to share his latest business idea or book that he had most recently read.
The visitation and Memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 14 at Pathway Church, 2001 N. Maize Rd, Wichita. Family visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. followed by a memorial service and celebration at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pathway Church, Goddard Campus, Roger Haynie Memorial Fund or to the Wichita Public Library, 223 S. Allene Boyles
Allene Rosemary (Gruber) Boyles, age 80, of Clearwater, retired bookkeeper, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012. Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary.
Allene was born on Saturday, Nov. 21, 1931 in Coffeyville, Kan. She was eighth of 12 children born to her parents Elmer Gruber and Francis Yolande Nance. She attended school in Coffeyville and Andover, and graduated from Andover High School.
On Oct. 12, 1951, she was united in marriage to Charles “Bud” Boyles in Wichita. They began their married
life in Clearwater. In 1973 they moved to Wichita, and returned to Clearwater in 2008. Bud preceded her in death on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011.
Allene’s early work life was spent waitressing at the Transport Cafe, where she met her future husband. After marriage, she assisted Bud in his business, Bud’s Plumbing and Heating. She then went on to a bookkeeping position for the Sedgwick County Treasurer in the Auto Licensing Department. She retired from Sedgwick County after 33 years of service. Allene was a member of the Clearwater First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the VFW Post 881 Auxiliary and the Clearwater Business and Professional Women’s Association.
Allene was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Bud” Boyles; parents, Elmer and Francis (Nance) Gruber; and siblings, Herman Gruber, Harold Gruber, Francis Gruber, Melvin Gruber, Meryl Gruber, Carl Gruber and Betty Oiler. Survivors include her children, Connie (David) Schauf of Wichita, Linda (Rowland) Gosling of White Bear Lake, Minn., David (Ellen) Boyles of Conway Springs, and Gerry (Shellie) Boyles of Wichita; sisters, Alberta Johnson of Broken Arrow, Okla., Nettie Day of Rantoul, Ill., and Vivian Griffin of Pataska, Ohio; brother, Bobby Gruber of Newark, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Francis Dugan
Francis James Dugan, Jr., age 77, of Wichita, retired transportation broker, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012. Private family services have been held.
Jim was born on Monday, Oct. 22, 1934 in Wichita. He was the oldest of three sons born to his parents, Francis James Dugan and Catherine Josephine Neville Dugan.
He was preceded in death by his father on Oct. 26, 1993 and his mother on June 24, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Jo Newman.
Jim is survived by his wife, Carolyn J. (Miller) Baird-Dugan. They were united in marriage on Feb. 13, 1998, in Newkirk, Okla. He is also survived by his daughters, Julie (Dan) Scott of Fresno, Calif., Coleen (Phil) Dugan of Coarsegold, Calif.; step-daughters, Susan Baird-Bakhtiari of Wichita, Sandi (Arvel) Baird-Hensley of Wichita; stepson, Jeff Baird (Brigette) of Clearwater; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Raymond Fasbender
Raymond N. Fasbender, 89, a farmer from Goddard, died on Oct. 10, 2012, at Bel Aire. He was born on Dec. 5, 1922, in Goddard to Nicholas and Loretta (Pauly) Fasbender. Raymond married
Edna Pauly on Sept. 4, 1947. in Wichita.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Linda Diane Fasbender, son Gerald, grandson Bradley Zenner, and sisters Esther, Alberta, Virginia, and La Vina Engel. He is survived by his wife Edna (Schulte) Fasbender of Goddard; sons, Ken of Cheney, Larry of Goddard, Greg and Diana Fasbender of Goddard; daughters Ginny (Mike Bosely) Lane of Wichita, Rita Stewart of St. Peters, Mo., Betty (Randy) Main of Bel Aire, Marilyn Fasbender of Wichita, and Janice (Charlie) Zenner of Colwich; 23 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren also survive him.
A Rosary was held on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at St. John Catholic Church in Clonmel. A funeral mass was held Thursday Oct. 11, at St. John Catholic Church, in Clonmel and interment was held at St. Anthony cemetery in Garden Plain. Delwyn Manning
Delwyn W. Manning, age 88, of Peck, former owner of Western Auto in Clearwater, Soil Conservationist, and WWII Veteran, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012. Graveside services were on Monday, Oct. 8, at 4 p.m. at Roll cemetery in Peck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ajulian and Sara (Montgomery) Manning; wife, Lucille (Fields) Manning; and sisters, Connie Pace and Verla Finley.
He is survived by his two children, Del (Raymond) Moore, of Peck, and Chris Manning, of Wichita; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Christine Thornton
Christine (Spencer) Fulmer Thornton, age 93, of Clearwater, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2012. Graveside Services were held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Clearwater Cemetery.
Frances Christine Fulmer Thornton was born on Monday, July 21, 1919 in Lafayette, Ga. She was the fifth of six children born to her parents, Lemuel Leonus Spencer and Ethel Eurene Boss Spencer. Christine had two loving, full marriages. Her first husband, Jacob Henry (J.H.) Fulmer married
her on July 24, 1937 in Lafayette, Ga. They had 31 years of marital bliss before he passed away on March 5, 1969. Her second marriage was to J.B. Thornton, a high school sweetheart. They married
in August of 1972 in Lafayette. He also preceded her in death after 27 years of marriage.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lemual and Ethel (Boss) Spencer; first husband, J. H. Fulmer, second husband, J.B. Thornton, daughter, Earlene Blanchard; sisters, Helen Klein, Ida Henderson, Marguerite Burnette, Janie Mae Turner; and brother, George Spencer.
She is survived by her daughter Judy (Keith) Light of Conway Springs; son-in-law, Walter Blanchard of Mountainburg, Ark; step-daughters, Peggy Martin of Acworth, Ga., Carol (Kim) Millican of Lafayette; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Bernice Wittorff
Bernice “Bea” (Carter) Chambers Wittorff, of Clearwater, retired Garvey Grain Elevator manager at Peck, age 95, passed away Monday, Oct. 8, 2012. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at First Christian Church, Clearwater.
Bea was born on Monday, Nov. 27, 1916. She was one of three children born to her parents, Harry Albert Carter and Pearl Faye (Johnston) Carter.
Bea was united in her first marriage on March 22, 1940, to Audley E. Chambers in Wichita. They were married
35 years before he passed away on July 17, 1975. She was united in her second marriage on Jan. 16, 1977 to Melvin D. Wittorff in Inman, Kan. He passed away on Dec. 12, 1983.
Bea was preceded in death by her first husband, Audley E. Chambers; second husband, Melvin D. Wittorff; parents, Harry and Pearl (Johnston) Carter; and brother, Byrl Carter. Survivors include her sons, Jon (Sonnie) Chambers, and Kurt (Debra) Chambers, of Clearwater; sister, Virginia Wickham; grandchildren, Lin Chambers, Ken Chambers, Jad Chambers, Melissa Oelkers, Emily Chambers; and seven great-grandchildren.

Gary Baumert
Gary C. Baumert, 75, retired letter carrier, of Wichita, formerly of Prescott, Ariz., and Las Vegas, Nev., died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012.
Survivors include five sons, Gary (Kim) Baumert of Parker, Colo., Mike (Stephanie) Baumert of Wichita, Rob (Linda) Baumert of Henderson, Nev., James (Tonya) Baumert and Richard (Kathy) Baumert, all of Wichita; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Baumert was preceded in death by his parents, Charles A. and Esther (Nickel) Baumert; brother, Dennis Baumert; and sister, Charlene Baumert-Kell.
