Raymond Zogleman
Raymond C. Zogleman, age 87, of Clearwater, retired KGE Murray Gill plant operator, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2011.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary, Clearwater. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, and funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 2, both at St. John’s Catholic Church, Clonmel.

Ray was born Dec. 1, 1923 in rural Haysville, Kan. He was third of four children born to his parents, John Bernard Zogleman and Katherine Kletchka Zogleman. He graduated from Clearwater High School in 1942. He then entered in the United States Air Force, serving his country proudly until 1946. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. In 1957, he began working at the Murray Gill Kansas Gas and Electric Plant and retired from there after 30 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Katherine (Kletchka) Zogleman; wife, Jo; brothers, Ben and Bob; and sister, Josephine. Survivors include his children, Duane (Jan) Zogleman of Wichita, Dale (Tammy) Zogleman of Viola, Gene (Paula) Zogleman of Shell Knob, Mo,, Trudy (Chuck) Rupert of Haysville, and Jeff (Deanne) Zogleman; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Monte L. Rhoads
Monte L. Rhoads, age 82, of Clearwater, farmer, dairyman, and retired Boeing machinist, passed away Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 25, with family present 5:30 to 7 p.m., with services at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, both at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary Chapel.
Monte was born on April 20, 1929, in Wichita, Kan., to his parents, George William Rhoads and Myrtie Eleanor Morgan Rhoads. He worked his early years as a farmer and dairy farmer before going to work as a machinist for Boeing, where he worked for almost 30 years.
On Sept. 19, 1948, he was united in marriage to Betty Jo Pruitt in Wichita. She preceded him in death on Feb. 14, 1997.
Monte was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo; parents, George and Myrtie (Morgan) Rhoads; and sister, Betty Jean Taylor. Survivors include children, Dennis (Julie) Rhoads of Derby, and Sandra (Rick) Calhoun of Tulsa, Okla.; sister, Barbara (Jack) Williams of Wichita; and grandchildren, Lucas Calhoun, Travis Calhoun, Brett Calhoun, Dale Rhoads and Ivan Newport.

Ronald Brunin
Ronald Vincent Brunin of Andale, 74, owner of Brunin Family Cafe in Andale, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011. Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26, with funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, both at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Andale. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent Paul Brunin and Letha Mae Phippen, sister Margie Williams, and grandsons Gavin Brunin and Jason Brunin. He is survived by his wife, Theresa of Andale; sons, Steven (Cheryl) Brunin of Anchorage, Ak., Todd (Amy) Brunin of Fountain Hills, Ariz., and Michael (Michelle) Brunin, of North Las Vegas, Nev.; step-sons Chris (Barbara) Simon of Bellevue, Neb., John (Kathy) Simon of Sedgwick, and Bill (Cindy) Simon of Bellevue, Neb.; daughters, Ronda Hall of Andale, Andrea (Gerard) Martin of Andale, Amiee (Myrod) Engels of Andale, and Angela (Kelly) Simon of Colwich; step-daughters, Karen (Scott) Mathia of Wichita, and Debbie Addison of Wichita; brother, Paul Brunin of California; 24 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; and 17 step-great-grandchildren.

Edna M. Campbell of Wichita, 86, died Monday, Aug. 15, 2011
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary in Clearwater. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, with funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, Schulte.
She was preceded in death by husband, Bethel L. Campbell. She is survived by her children, Cindy (Larry) Collins, Rick (Carla) Campbell, Julie (Joseph) Greene, and Brad Campbell; and nine grandchildren.

Almeda Faker
Almeda E. Faker of Wichita, 95, homemaker and retired grocer, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011. Rosary was at 7 p.m. Sunday, with services at 2 p.m., Monday, both at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, Schulte.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry G. Faker; daughter, Dianne Knoblauch; and siblings, Sylvester, Clarence, Fred, and Leonita “Toots” Doffing. She is survived by her daughters, Myrna (Don) Steiner of Wichita, and Glenda (Mike) Conover of Schulte; brothers, Linus Thome of Schulte and Alvin (Shorty) Thome of Fayetteville, Ark; grandchildren, Staci (Jeff) Commons, Scott (Lori) Steiner, Brian (Trisha) Knoblauch, Darren (Carmen) Conover, Chris (Heather)Conover, Craig Knoblauch, Kamie (John) Conover, Theresa (Blake) Randle, Brent (Lisa) Knoblauch, Chad Knoblauch, Michelle Conover, Danielle Conover, and Shannon Conover; 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Jerry A. Milligan, 48, of Wichita, Spirit worker and owner of Jerry’s Automotive, died Sat, Aug 13, 2011.
Service was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, at Calvary Baptist Church, Derby. Survivors include his wife, Rosanne; daughters, Sandi (Larry) Wisley, Samantha Milligan, Jessica Milligan; parents, Gerald Milligan, Vivian Batson; sister, Cristi Wilkin; and grandchildren, Alec Wisley, Chloe Milligan.

Cyrilla A. Pauly of Clonmel, 84, homemaker, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011. Visitation was Saturday, Aug. 13, at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary, Clearwater. Rosary was Sunday, Aug. 14, with funeral services Monday, both at St. John’s Catholic Church, Clonmel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gudula Friess; siblings, Johanna Stroot, Werner, Michael, and Bernard Friess; grandson, Jason Pauly; and great grandson, Christian Stewart. Survivors include her husband of more than 60 years, Virgil Pauly; children, Janice Weiss, Nancy Pauly Thompson, Steven Pauly, Kevin Pauly, and Brian Pauly, all of Viola, and Daniel Pauly of Colorado Springs, Colo.; siblings, Rita Kraus, Gudula Gros, Florian Friess, Justin Friess, and Urban Friess; grandchildren, Heather Stewart, Jeremy Thompson, Lindsay Thompson, Michelle Morrell, Blake Pauly, Ashley Zoglmann, Kendra Peak, Emily Pauly, Andrea Pauly, Katlyn Pauly, Trent Pauly, Tyler Pauly, Lauren Nelson Michael Pauly, Megan Pauly, and Jordan Pauly; and 10 great grandchildren.

Walter Ross
Walter R. Ross, age 91, died suddenly at the Johnson City Medical Center on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011. Mr. Ross was a resident at Pine Oaks Assisted Living Center, Johnson City, Tenn.
A native of Mayfield, Kan., he was a son of the late John Blair and Neva Marr Ross. He was a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and served during World War II. Mr. Ross attended Wichita State University and retired as an aeronautical engineer from Boeing Aircraft after 45 years of employment there.
He served in church leadership for many years as Elder at the West Side Christian and the Town and Country Christian churches in Wichita. He was a member of Central Christian Church, Wichita, but most recently attended Grandview Christian Church, Johnson City, Tenn. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Mardel Schoeppel Ross, in 2007; a brother, Alfred Ross; and a sister, Betty Mae Randall.
Survivors include a son, Calvin Ross, and wife, Nancy, of Johnson City, Tenn.; a daughter, Barbara Jean George and husband Robert, Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Bryles, and Esther Christie; and a brother, Ralph Ross.
A memorial service for Mr. Ross was conducted on Tuesday, August 16, in the chapel of Webb-Shinkle Mortuary, Clearwater, with an inurnment following in the Clearwater Cemetery.

Dixie Sebits
Dixie F. (Wallace) Sebits of Cheney, 95, housewife, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at the United Methodist Church in Cheney.
She was a member of Eastern Star and was an American Red Cross volunteer. She was born July 31, 1916, in Augusta, and married
Carl Sebits on Sept. 14, 1941, in Cheney.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruel L. Wallace and Florence Bottom. She is survived by her husband, Carl Sebits; son, David (Dixie Carol) Sebits of Hesston; grandchildren, Trent (Jeni) Sebits of Wichita, Travis (Andrea) Sebits of Hesston, and Lindsey Sebits of Hesston; and great-grandchildren Isabella, Preston, Zach and Ethan Sebits.
Memorials may be made to Friends University Scholarships, Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, American Red Cross or the Salvation Army.

Rose Heitman
Rose Ellen (Kerley) Heitman of Clearwater, age 84, homemaker and farm owner, died Sunday, Sept. 25. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at First Christian Church, Clearwater.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mamie (Garretson) Kerley; husband, Everett Heitman; and sister, Colleen Heitman. Survivors include her son, Tom Heitman of Clearwater; daughter, Susan (Steve) Haslouer of Arkansas City; brother, Charles (Pat) Kerley of Peck; and granddaughters, Bonnie Schieber and Whitney Heitman.

Inez Hilger
Inez Hilger, 99, of Waterford, Michigan, passed away Friday September 23. She was to be 100 on September 27. Inez was born September 27, 1911 in Murdock to Peter Paul Beat and Margaret “Maggie” (Sprecker) Beat. She had three sisters Lorena, Ida, and Josephine. Inez lived in the Murdock area. Then on September 17, 1946 she married
Peter J. Hilger, after his service in the US Army during WWII. Living on the family farm in Murdock, she and Pete had two sons Joe and Charles. When Inez and Pete retired they moved to Garden Plain. After Pete’s passing in 1996, Inez continued to live in Garden Plain where she had so many close friends. In 2005, she moved to Michigan to be near her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. While in Michigan, Inez enjoyed living in the Lourdes Senior Community Complex. Although Inez moved to Michigan, she still considered Murdock and Garden Plain her home. She always loved hearing from relatives and friends back in Kansas and reading every page of the Kingman Journal and the Times-Sentinel.
Her son Joe Hilger and his wife Cheryl live in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Their son Dave and his wife Sabrina have two children Olivia and Zachary. Charles and his wife Cindy live in Northville, Michigan. They have three children, Becky (deceased in 2001), Shelly, and Chris.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday September 29 at Wulf-Ast Mortuary, 911 Biermann Street in Garden Plain. Rosary will follow at 7 p.m. at St. Anthony Church.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday September 30 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Garden Plain. Father Sam Pinkerton will officiate. Burial service will be held at 2 p.m. at St. Louis/Waterloo cemetery in Waterloo.

Orlo Noah
Orlo Pierce Noah of Haysville, age 94, owner/operator of Noah’s Donut Shop, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011. No Services are planned.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma L. Nickolson; parents, Lafeyette Noah and I.O. Mendenhall Noah; and two brothers, Orin and Lafe. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Vikki Noah of Wichita; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Hannah Joy Peters of Cheney, 16, student, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011. She was born May 31, 1995, in Thomasville, N.C.
Visitation was 1-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, with family present 7-8 p.m. to greet friends. A private service and burial will be held.
Hannah is survived by her parents, Pastor Keith and Linda Peters; brothers, John, Chris, Daniel, Samuel, David and Michael, all of Cheney; sisters, Tiffany Dixon of Charlotte, N.C., Ashley Peters of Thomasville, N.C., and Mary Peters of Cheney; and grandfather, Roy Blaylock of Graham, N.C.

John Wells
John C. Wells of Viola, age 81, retired dairy farmer, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011. A Rosary was held at 7:30 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 2, and a funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 3, both at St. John’s Catholic Church, Clonmel.
He was preceded in death by wife of 55 years, M. Leona (Cook) Wells; parents, Paul and Marie (Vestring) Wells; brothers, Joseph and Daniel Wells; and sisters, Rosella Newby and Mary Crabtree. Survivors include his wife, Judy A. (Converse) Wells; children, Richard (Lavonne) Wells, Barbara (Steve) Cotton, Michael (Tammy) Wells, all of Viola, and Robert (Sandy) Wells, James Wells, all of Clearwater; brothers, Bernard Wells of Wichita, and Louis Wells and Charlie Wells, both of Garden Plain; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
