Bartlesville, Okla. — Services for Mary Anne Durie Crain, 72, Bartlesville, will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at East Cross United Methodist Church in Bartlesville.
Mrs. Crain died Monday, April 18, 2005, at her home.
She was born
May, 27, 1932, in Raton, N.M., the daughter of Ralph Cristie and Grace Pitts Durie. She graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., with a degree in teaching in 1953.
Mrs. Crain taught fifth grade at Wesleyan Christian School in Bartlesville for 14 years and previously taught at Kennedy School in Lawrence, Kan., for 13 years. She was a past president of the Women's League of Voters and served on the Board of Mutual. She volunteered with Tuesday House, Concern, and Reach to Recovery Cancer Support Group in Lawrence. She was a member of East Cross United Methodist Church, where she was in the choir and was a past president of United Methodist Women.
She married
Ronald D. Crain on March 29, 1953, in Liberty, Mo. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Randy Crain, Olathe, Kan.; three daughters, Kerrin Kirkpatrick, Urbanna, Iowa, Cindy Myers, Parsons, Kan., and Dee Anne Roush, Joplin, Mo.; a brother, Robert Durie, Prairie Village, Kan.; a sister, Ruth Clouse, Norwalk, Conn.; and 16 grandchildren.

David Leroy Taylor, Eudora
1943 - 2005
Eudora — Memorial services for David Leroy Taylor, 61, Pomona, will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary's Eudora Chapel.
Mr. Taylor died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at Olathe Medical Center.
He was born
Sept. 19, 1943, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Roy and Agnes Doody Taylor. He graduated from Washington High School in Kansas City, Kan., in 1962.
Mr. Taylor was a truck driver for many years. During his retirement he repaired and refurbished antique horse-drawn wagons.
Survivors include two sons, Tim, Lawrence, and Tom, Baldwin; a daughter, Debra Taylor, Lecompton; two brothers, Robert, Oskaloosa, and James, Olathe; and three grandchildren.

Maud Vera Halverstadt, Bartlesville, Okla.
1917 - 2005
Bartlesville, Okla. — Services for Maud Vera Halverstadt, 87, Bartlesville, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at East Cross United Methodist Church in Bartlesville. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Kan.
Mrs. Halverstadt died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at her home.
She was born
Oct. 14, 1917, in Halstead, Kan., the daughter of Ernest and Mary Parker Stewart. She was raised and attended schools in Halstead. She later lived in Oxford, Winslow, Ariz., Winfield, Kan., and Chanute, Kan., and moved to Bartlesville in 1967.
She was a member of East Cross United Methodist Church, the Upper Room Sunday School Class and Church Retirees Group.
She married
James Willard Halverstadt on Oct. 14, 1938, in Halstead. He died earlier.
Survivors include two sons, Roy Halverstadt, Lawrence, Kan., and Don Halverstadt, Huntsville, Ala.; a daughter, Doris Kourt, Bartlesville; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Antonio M. Godinez, Ottawa

Ottawa — Graveside services for Antonio M. Godinez, 58, Ottawa, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Ottawa.
Mr. Godinez died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at his home.
He was born
May 22, 1946, in Ottawa, the son of Delores and Lucia Martinez Godinez.
He was a lifelong Ottawa resident.
Mr. Godinez was a trackman for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, where he worked for 30 years.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa and the local union for Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees.
He married
Joy C. Ward in 1971. They divorced. He married
Heidie Nelson on Dec. 23, 1989. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include five sons, Angelo Godinez, Lawrence, Domingo Godinez, De Soto, Rico Godinez and Jeremy Ward, both of Ottawa, and Justin Nelson, Pomona; two daughters, Angelina Godinez and Julie Setters, both of Ottawa; a brother, Jermone Godinez, Lawrence; a sister, Kathy Carpenter, Omaha, Neb.; and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Dengel and Son Mortuary in Ottawa, where a rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Brenda Bernard, Mesa, Ariz.
1943 - 2005
Mesa, Ariz. — Services for Brenda Bernard, 61, Phoenix, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Community Catholic Church in Mesa.
Services in Lawrence, Kan., will be at a later date.
Mrs. Bernard died Sunday, April 10, 2005, in Phoenix from a brain aneurysm.
She was born
Sept. 17, 1943, in Butler, Mo., the daughter of Harrison Traul and Marjorie Baldwin.
She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1961.
Mrs. Bernard was a bookkeeper and recently started a soapmaking business, Sumptuous Soap and Bath Products.
She married
Jerry Jones, and they later divorced.
Survivors include her father and stepmother, Harrison and Roberta Traul, Lawrence; a son, James Jones, Florida; two daughters, Janine Jones, Avondale, and Jennifer Jackson, Mesa; two brothers, James and Eric Traul, both of Kansas; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Melchers Chapel of the Roses in Mesa is in charge of arrangements.
Sherry K. Sieliet, Topeka
1943 - 2005
Topeka — Services for Sherry K. Sieliet, 62, Perry, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka.
Mrs. Sieliet died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at her home.
She was born
March 3, 1943, in Topeka, the daughter of Ralph and Marge Powell Morris.
Mrs. Sieliet was a paraprofessional for Northeast Kansas Education Service Center and a bartender at the Perry Pub.
She was a lifetime member of American War Dads and its auxiliary.
She also was a member of Beta Sigma Phi social sorority in Topeka.
She married
James M. Sieliet in 1975. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include three daughters, Kelli Pelton, Perry, Nicole Pierce, Topeka, and Sabrina Thompson, Minneapolis, Minn.; five sons, Jim Sieliet, Kingman, Ariz., Donnie Pierce, Oskaloosa, Robbie Pierce, Lansing, and Richard Sieliet and Joseph Sieliet, both of Perry; two brothers, Steve and Rob Morris, both of Topeka; 27 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.

Private services for Robert "Rob" Ansel Church, 36, Lawrence, are pending.
Mr. Church died Wednesday, April 13, 2005, in Kansas City, Kan. Cremation is planned.
He was born
Sept. 9, 1968, in Lawrence, the son of James D. and Ann S. Pettus Church.
He was a lifelong Lawrence resident.
He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1987 and received a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and biology from Kansas University in 1993.
He had worked at Allen Press, and most recently he was a math instructor at Haskell Indian Nations University.
He is survived by his parents; a brother, James Devin Church, Lawrence; and a niece and nephew.
The family will receive friends at an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, 4189 Blackjack Oak Drive.

Gary Lynn Dalton, Oskaloosa

Oskaloosa — Services for Gary Lynn Dalton, 61, rural McLouth, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Highland Cemetery in Iola.
Mr. Dalton died Thursday, April 14, 2005, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
He was born
Oct. 29, 1943, in Gas City, the son of Tillis Martin and Neoma Keele Dalton.
He attended school in Iola and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Emporia State Teachers College in 1967.
He received a Master of Social Science degree from Kansas University in 1974.
Mr. Dalton served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the building of the Berlin Wall.
He was a social worker for the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services in Topeka and Pratt from 1980 to 1990.
He retired in 2002 after working 35 years and worked for EKAN in Ottawa for two years.
He also owned and operated a farm near Ozawkie.
He married
Judith Lynn Kenison on July 3, 1966, in Chanute. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include four sons, Chris, Elgin, Texas, Fred Scott, Lawrence, Clint, Denver, and Eric, San Diego; a brother, Jim Prentice, Lawrence; a sister, Marjorie Wade, Iola; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home before the services.
