Tina Louise Rader
ULYSSES - Tina Louise Rader, 44, of Parker, Colo., and formerly of Ulysses, died Saturday, May 24, 2003, in Parker.
She was born May 23, 1959, at Gunnison, Colo., the daughter of Richard Dudley and Beverly Roberts.
A longtime Ulysses resident, she moved from Twentynine Palms, Calif., to Parker in March 2002. A homemaker, she also was a manager of a grocery store.
On Feb. 15, 1992, she married John Rader at Wichita. He survives. She also is survived by her parents, Richard and Norma Dudley of Ulysses, and Beverly and Dieter Rein of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Gara Lee of Elmdale; three sisters, Terri Sweet/Ryles of Niceville, Fla., Laurie Walta of Caldwell, and Linda Velasquez of Ulysses; and three grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Shelton Memorial Christian Church, Ulysses, with the Rev. Bill Harrold officiating. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Grant County Funeral Home, Ulysses. Memorials are suggested to the Grandchildren Education Fund, in care of the funeral home, 218 S. Main, Ulysses, KS 67880.
Leonides Rodriguez Moreno
Leonides Rodriguez Moreno, 76, of Caņon City, Colo., and formerly of Holcomb, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in Caņon City, following a lengthy illness.
He was born Feb. 17, 1927, at Refugio, Texas, the son of Jose and Gregoria Rodriguez Moreno. He grew up in Brownsville, Texas, and in San Antonio.
A former resident of Berthoud, Colo., he worked for and managed several alfalfa dehydration plants in Colorado and Kansas. He had been a resident of Holcomb from 1980 until moving to Caņon City in 1989.
Mr. Moreno was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II stationed in the Aleutian Islands. He enjoyed being with his family, watching baseball, and listening to big band and Mexican music.
On Nov. 14, 1948, he married Rita Huerta at Berthoud. She survives. He also is survived by three daughters Rosalie Messenger of Loveland, Linda Burr of Grand Junction, Colo., and Rae Moreno of Caņon City; his brothers and sisters, Jose, Edward, Rene and David Moreno, Rachel Camacho, Irma Casanova, Delia Lucio, Minerva Gil and Yolanda Rodriguez, all of San Antonio; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a son, Leo Max Moreno.
A graveside inurnment service with military honors was 2 p.m. May 23 at Greenlawn Cemetery
in Berthoud. A memorial service was 2 p.m. Saturday at Holt Chapel of the Garden in Caņon City.

Eulah Monette Davis
ULYSSES - Funeral for Eulah Monette Davis, 86, a former Ulysses resident, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Cimarron Mortuary Chapel, Boise City, Okla., with Leon Apple officiating. Graveside service will be 4 p.m. CDT Thursday at Holly (Colo.) Cemetery.
She died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at Boise City.
Born June 26, 1916, at Holly, she was the daughter of Judson and Lena Allen Hughes. She grew up in Holly and Webb, Colo., and graduated from school in Holly.
On Dec. 5, 1936, she married Mike Davis at Holly. They lived in Lamar, Colo., until moving to Ulysses in 1957. While living in Ulysses, she worked at the drugstore where she enjoyed visiting with the customers. She also loved her flowers, especially peonies. She was a member of Ulysses Church of God.
Her husband died in 1986. She also was preceded in death by a son, Maynard; and her parents.
Mrs. Davis moved to Boise City in 1993 to be closer to her son. In her later years, she enjoyed listening to music, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Bud Davis of Boise City; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

William M. Turrentine
William M. Turrentine, 83, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
He was born Aug. 27, 1919, at Wellington, the son of Paul W. and Ruth M. Marley Turrentine. He graduated from Mt. Dora High School in Florida in 1938, and received a bachelor's degree in business administration from John B. Stetson University in De Land, Fla., in 1946.
After moving to Garden City, Mr. Turrentine worked for Miller Insurance Co., then worked as an accountant for Henkle Drilling Co., and later became a farmer.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Garden City, Harry H. Renick American Legion Post No. 9, Elks Club and the Wheat Growers Association, a longtime board member of Garden City Co-op, served on a national board on the cost study of farms, and served as a master sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. His special interests were model airplanes and rockets, and art.
On Dec. 2, 1946, he married Phyllis H. Hanson at Orlando, Fla. She survives. He also is survived by two sons, Craig Turrentine of Deerfield, and Mark Turrentine of Indianapolis; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Evelyn Vaughn; and a grandson, Christopher Turrentine.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, Garden City, with the Rev. Robert Cousins officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, with military graveside rites conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
Visitation hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Memorials are suggested to the church, in care of the funeral home, 412 N. Seventh St.
Dr. Theo G. Truitt
ELKHART - Dr. Theo G. Truitt, 87, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at Morton County Care Center in Elkhart.
He was born June 13, 1915, at Medora, the son of James Edgar and Celia Pearl Rickenbrode Truitt.
An Elkhart resident since 1978, Mr. Truitt was a retired chiropractor. He started his practice at Westville, Okla., and later moved his practice to Guymon, Okla., where he resided for 20 years. He retired in 1987.
Mr. Truitt was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army as a captain from 1943 to 1946. He also was a former city council member and former mayor, both at Elkhart. He was a former member of the Toastmaster's Club of Guymon and of the Lions Club of Elkhart. His special interests included flying, riding motorcycles, reading and sailboating.
On Dec. 31, 1975, he married Velma Smoot at Beaver, Okla. She survives. He also is survived by two sons, Kris Truitt of Cleburne, Texas, and Mark Truitt of Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Suzanne Cole of Alvarado, Texas, and Carol Grider of Guymon; a stepson, Eric Fergurson of Balko, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Anesia Shores of Goodwell, Okla., and O'Leen Bennett of Carlsbad, N.M.; a sister, Dena Swafford of Augusta; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 10 stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; an infant daughter; and a sister, Nita Gail Friesem.
Memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel, Elkhart, with the Rev. Jim Cunningham officiating.
There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the Elkhart Senior Center, in care of the funeral home, Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
John B. Hann
Funeral for John B. Hann, 91, of Hanston, was to be 10 this morning at the United Methodist Church, Hanston, with the Rev. Mitch Reece officiating. Burial was to follow at Hanston Cemetery.
Mr. Hann died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at Hodgeman County Health Center in Jetmore.
He was born June 4, 1911, at Hanston, the son of John C. and Mayme L. Seaman Hann.
A farmer, he was a member of First Baptist Church and the Lions Club, both at Hanston.
On July 18, 1931, he married Opal Salmans at Lyons. She survives. He also is survived by two daughters, Lelah Mae Webster of Tucson, Ariz., and Terlyn Jon Shaw of Broomfield, Colo.; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Duane "Sandy" Hann; a daughter, Patricia Ann Smith; and three brothers, Bill, Shirley and Merlin Hann.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of St. Catherine's of Garden City or the Hearts Ministries, both in care of Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore.
Arlene Mae Minks
ULYSSES - Funeral for Arlene Mae Minks, 71, of Ulysses, was to be 10 this morning at the First United Methodist Church, Ulysses, with the Rev. Dennis Livingston officiating. Graveside service was to be 3 p.m. today at Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg.
Mrs. Minks died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
She was born March 25, 1932, at Buttermilk, the daughter of Marion and Lydia Johnson Dirks.
On Nov. 20, 1951, she married Earl L. Minks at Greensburg. In 1959, they moved to Ulysses. A homemaker, Mrs. Minks was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ulysses.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Diane Okeson of Winfield; three sons, Rick Minks of Austin, Texas, Mark Minks of Meade, and Dan Minks of Gilbert, Ariz.; two sisters, Alsine Ryan of Houston, and Marlene Harvey of Newton; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jessie North
Jessie North, 89, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, at her home in Garden City.
Born July 15, 1913, in Grant County, she was the daughter of William B. and Nona L. Howard Ladner. She attended grade school at Warrendale School in Grant County and graduated from Garden City High School.
She ran the Austin Cafe for many years before operating North Liquor Store in Garden City. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, cooking, reading and bowling and was a former member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Wells of Garden City; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Archie Ladner; and a sister, Mary Neese.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City, with the Rev. Charles West officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
Visitation hours are from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home, 412 N. Seventh St.
