Shirley R. Dillmon
HUGOTON - Graveside service for Shirley R. Dillmon, 66, of Hugoton, will be 11 this morning at Hugoton Cemetery, with the Rev. Robert Bailey officiating.
Mrs. Dillmon died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at her home.
She was born Jan. 10, 1936, at Hugoton, the daughter of Robert and Thelma Farmer McIlrath. A lifetime resident of Hugoton, she graduated from high school there.
Mrs. Dillmon owned and operated Le's Flowers in Hugoton for several years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Her special interests included gardening, her fish pond, her pets, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Jeff and Jamie Mills, both of Hugoton; three daughters, Tanya Anderson, Garden City, Jill Dillmon, Dallas, and Julie Starkey, Montezuma; her mother, Hugoton; four sisters, Lavon Holt, Liberal, Joan Spikes, Retha Wagner and Delores Bullard, all of Hugoton; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and an infant grandson.

Betty Sue Eyer
SYRACUSE - Funeral for Betty Sue Sims Eyer, 75, of Syracuse, will be 2 p.m. MDT Saturday at the Presbyterian Church, Syracuse, with the Rev. Joe Gould officiating. Graveside service will follow at Syracuse Cemetery.
Mrs. Eyer died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at the Hamilton County Extended Care Facility in Syracuse.
She was born July 8, 1927, at Blackwater, Mo., the daughter of Thomas J. and Ruth Val DeNar Sims.
A Syracuse resident since 1946, she was a homemaker and enjoyed drawing, painting and doing embroidery work.
On Sept. 7, 1947, she married Ralph A. Eyer at Syracuse. He died Feb. 24, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ralph Thomas "Tom" Eyer, on Nov. 8, 1987; and her parents.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Delores I. Eyer, and two grandchildren, Cherie L. Eyer and Eric N. Eyer, all of San Antonio, Texas.

Arthur H. Brinkmeyer
Arthur H. Brinkmeyer, 78, of Garden City, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, at the Medical Center of Plano in Plano, Texas.
He was born Aug. 25, 1924, in rural Finney County, the son of Arthur Lee and Nettie Morse Brinkmeyer.
A lifetime Garden City area resident, he attended Garden City schools and Garden City Junior College for two years. He farmed east of Garden City and was also a crop adjuster.
Mr. Brinkmeyer was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He served on the Finney County Drainage District No. 2 Board from the early 1960s to 2000 and was on the Finney County Fair Board from the early 1960s until the late 1960s.
On Aug. 27, 1946, he married Marjorie Dailey Knepper at Clay Center. She died Jan. 14, 2002. He also was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles Brinkmeyer; and a sister, Pearl Brinkmeyer.
He is survived by two sons, James W. Brinkmeyer, Denver, and Robert F. Brinkmeyer, Golden, Colo.; three daughters, Cora L. Howard, Garden City, Carol Blackford, Allen, Texas, and Lana Brinkmeyer, Denver; a sister, Helen Blackman, Garden City; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City, with the Rev. Linda Bolz officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Garden City.
Visitation hours are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 412 N. Seventh St.
Rhonda Sue Wesley
HUGOTON - Rhonda Sue Wesley, 46, of Hugoton, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, from injuries suffered in a one-vehicle accident near Hugoton.
Born July 21, 1956, at Hugoton, she was the daughter of Verl E. and Murl Burrows, and was a lifetime resident of Hugoton. She was a homemaker and her hobbies included sewing. An artist, she focused on painting.
Survivors include two sons, James Thomas Wesley Jr. and Joseph Lee Wesley, and a daughter, Abby Sue Wesley, all of Garden City; her father, Hugoton; a brother, John Burrows, Montana; and a grandson. She was preceded in death by her mother.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church, Hugoton, with the Revs. Jeff Aenk and Robert Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Hugoton Cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Thursday at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home, Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
Horace C. 'Buck' Bell Jr.
HUGOTON - Horace Chester "Buck" Bell Jr., 56, of Hugoton, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, from injuries suffered in a one-vehicle accident near Hugoton.
He was born Dec. 11, 1945, at Lodi, Calif., the son of Horace Chester and Mildred Doylene Norton Bell.
A mechanic, he had worked for Premier Alfalfa Inc., Hugoton. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. He enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, doing yard work, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include four sons, Jeffery Paul Mitchell, Beaver Dam, Ky., Daniel Lee Bell, Narrows, Ky., Frankie Bell, Allen, Okla., and Shannon Wayne Bell of South Korea; two daughters, Balynda Mae Brown, Cannon Falls, Minn., and Mildred Susan Styles, Beaver Dam; a sister, Antonia Carol Boswell, Galt, Calif.; and seven grandchildren. His father died in 1993.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton, with the Rev. Robert Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Hugoton Cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Thursday at the funeral home.
Theresa V. Kozak
Theresa V. Kozak, 85, of Jetmore, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002.
She was born Jan. 24, 1917, at Portis. She was a retired beautician and a member of Order of the Eastern Star of Missouri City, Mo.
On Nov. 23, 1939, she married Glen D. Major. He died April 13, 1957. She married George W. Kozak on Dec. 23, 1972. He died Sept. 12, 1996. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ted Major, on May 28, 1997; her parents; and three sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Major, Garden City, and Roger Major, Ellsworth; three daughters, Connie German, Beloit, Barbara Bergmann, Jetmore, and Linda Sue Garman, Lima, Ohio; a brother, Max Hayes, Lenexa; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday in Bennington Cemetery, Bennington.

Floyd Wayne Taylor
Johnson - Floyd Wayne Taylor, 62, of Johnson, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at Stanton County Hospital in Johnson.
He was born May 26, 1940, at Bowman, Ark., the son of Randolph and Edna Creason Taylor.
A longtime resident of Lamar, Colo., he had lived in Johnson since 2000. He was a truck driver and enjoyed camping and fishing.
He is survived by three sons, Floyd Robert Taylor, Lamar, Larry Don Taylor, Boise City, Okla., and Brad Michael Taylor, Julesburg, Colo.; a daughter, Cynthia Lee Wilbur, Julesburg; two brothers, David Randolph Taylor, Humphrey, Neb., and Kenneth Douglas Taylor, Attica, N.Y.; two sisters, Betty Eckhardt, Johnson, and Shirley Harrell, Russellville, Ark.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel, Johnson, with the Rev. Randy Conway officiating. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. MT Friday at Riverside Cemetery
in Lamar.

Walburga ?Burgie' Albers
Walburga "Burgie" Albers, 91, of Oakley, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, at Logan County Hospital in Oakley.
She was born Aug. 18, 1911, in Sheridan County, the daughter of Barney and Regina Robben Dickman. A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Albers was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Oakley, a charter member of St. Catherine's Circle, Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella at the church, a former member of St. Paul's Catholic Church of Angelus and she belonged to the Bible Study Group and Oakley Garden Club.
On Feb. 8, 1933, she married Joseph C. Albers at Angelus. He died Dec. 2, 1986. She also was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Joseph C. Albers Jr., Frank Albers and Ronnie Albers; a daughter, Reinette Schoepner; two grandsons; one great-grandchild; five brothers, John, Tony, Msgr. Bernard, Vince and Dave Dickman; and two sisters, Sister Regina Marie Dickman and Martha Feldt Hamer.
She was the mother of Joan Lobmeyer of Garden City. Other survivors include four sons, Bernard Albers of Houston, Henry Albers and Fred Albers, both of Oakley, and Robert J. Albers, Garden City, Mo.; five other daughters, Mary Jean Delzeit, Dodge City, Frances Ryan, Colby, Anna C. Albers-Mages and Carla Deckert, both of Topeka, and Rosanne LaBarge, Oakley; four brothers, Robert J. Dickman, Grinnell, Edmund Dickman, Menlo, Gilbert Dickman, Denver, and Al Dickman, Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Sister Mary Martha Dickman, Salina, and Jean Rietcheck, Grinnell; 53 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Church, Oakley. Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Revs. Jim Grennan and Don McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Oakley.
