Ralph E. Gibbs
SCOTT CITY - Funeral for Ralph E. Gibbs, 74, of Scott City, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Scott City, with the Rev. Robert Nuckolls officiating. Burial will be in Scott County Cemetery, Scott City.
Mr. Gibbs died Friday, May 10, 2002, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
He was born April 5, 1928, at Gem, the son of Bert and Alma Montgomery Gibbs.
A Scott City resident since 1955, moving from Colby, he was employed by Phillips 66 as a truck driver. He later was self-employed as a livestock hauler. In 1970, he went to work for E-Z Serve Inc., hauling petroleum to and from the refinery. He retired in 1982.
Mr. Gibbs enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, playing cards and spending time with his family.
On May 29, 1949, he married Donna L. Griggs at Colby. She survives. He is also survived by two sons, Mike and Phil Gibbs, both of Scott City; a daughter, Susan Rohrbough, Scott City; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Kenneth Allen Grove
SYRACUSE - Funeral for Kenneth Allen Grove, 75, of Syracuse, will be 10 a.m. MDT Wednesday at the First Christian Church, Syracuse, with the Rev. Joe Lee Gould officiating. A graveside committal service will follow in Tribune Cemetery.
Mr. Grove died Sunday, May 12, 2002, at Kiowa County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg.
He was born April 5, 1927, at Tribune, the son of Samuel M. and Helen Smith Grove. A 1945 graduate of Tribune High School, he attended Washburn University in Topeka and also attended Garden City Community College. He served from 1945 to 1946 with the 31st Seabees of the U.S. Navy in the Philippines.
On June 19, 1949, he married Betty Davison at Tribune. They owned and operated the Tribune Dry Cleaners until 1956, when they moved to Dighton, where they owned and operated the Dighton Dry Cleaners. In 1971, they moved to Syracuse, where he worked as a John Deere parts man until retiring in 1994.
Mr. Grove was a member of the Dighton American Legion and a former member of the Masonic Lodge and the National Rifle Association. He was a gun collector and enjoyed sports.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Rod and Shawn Grove, both of Dodge City; three daughters, Suzanne Smith, Colorado Springs, Colo., Cheri Mellon, Augusta, and Rene Hoe, Ennis, Mont.; a brother, Gerald Grove, Ogden, Utah; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Iva Dumcum-Wolgamuth
HUGOTON - Funeral for Iva Maggie Dumcum-Wolgamuth, 91, of Hugoton, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton, with the Rev. Nel Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in Hugoton Cemetery.
Mrs. Wolgamuth died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton.
She was born Feb. 4, 1911, in Stevens County, the daughter of James F. and Maggie Carr McClure.
A resident of Stevens County for most of her life, with the exception of about 15 years in Scott City, she was a homemaker and a member of Rebekah Lodge.
On April 6, 1930, she married Elza Dumcum. He died in 1953. On Sept. 3, 1956, she married James Wolgamuth. He died in 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Guy, Roy, Jim, Ray and Jay McClure; two sisters, Ona Downey and Ada Hicks; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include two sons, David Dumcum and Jerry Dumcum; a daughter, Dorothy Mueller, Hugoton; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation hours are until 8 tonight and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Clara B. Vulgamore
SCOTT CITY - Clara B. Vulgamore, 74, died Monday, May 13, 2002, at Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City.
She was born March 30, 1928, at Grainfield, the daughter of George G. and Clara Belle Meek Nonnamaker.
A Scott County resident since 1936, moving from Logan County, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Vulgamore was a member of Community Christian Church, the So-Sew Club, Alpha and Omega Society and the El Quartelejo Saddle Club. She was active with the Community Christian Bible Bowl, and was a church youth group leader and a Lake Wide Awake 4-H leader.
On April 10, 1946, she married Earl N. Vulgamore at Scott City. He survives. She is also survived by a son, Larry Vulgamore, Scott City; two daughters, Diana Gonzales, Roswell, N.M., and Linda Illgner, San Antonio; a brother, Glenn Nonnamaker, Scott City; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, one daughter and one sister.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Community Christian Church, Scott City, with the Rev. Jeff Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Scott County Cemetery, Scott City.
Visitation hours are until 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Scott City. Memorials are suggested to the Community Christian Church Scholarship Fund, in care of the funeral home.
Raymond Cisneros
Raymond Cisneros, 43, of Wichita, died Monday, May 13, 2002.
He is survived by a son, Christopher, Dodge City; two daughters, Trisha and Miranda Cisneros, both of Garden City; four brothers, Steve, Thomas and John, all of Wichita, and Isaac, Pueblo, Colo.; his stepfather, Laco Martinez, Garden City; a sister, Annette Cisneros, Garden City; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Senona Cisneros; and a brother, James Jr.
Services are pending with Watson Funeral Home, Wichita, in charge of arrangements.
James Stanley Fulton Sr.
DEERFIELD - Funeral for James Stanley Fulton Sr., 66, of Hays, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, Hays, with the Rev. William Miller officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hays.
Mr. Fulton died Monday, May 13, 2002, at Hays Medical Center.
He was born July 8, 1935, at Deerfield, the son of Fred P. and Ester O. Meadows Fulton, and attended schools in Deerfield.
On Aug. 6, 1994, he married Bonnie Kuhn at Dodge City. They were a driving team for Convoy Systems Inc. trucking firm. Prior to working for Convoy, they were employed by Jack B. Kelley Inc. He previously was a Department of Transportation officer for the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Mr. Fulton was a member of the Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Michael Kevin Fulton, Campbell, Texas, and James Stanley Fulton Jr., Deerfield; a daughter, Sheryl Kay Suiter, Concordia; a stepson, Tim Leighton, Charlotte, N.C.; three stepdaughters, Tammy Kay Leighton, Norman, Okla., Tammy Lindeman, Kearney, Neb., and Tonya A. Moddelmog, Wichita; two sisters, Agnes Faith Landon, Deerfield, and Mary Lois Smith, Liberal; seven grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Fulton; and a sister, Ester Sutton.

Victor J. Smith
Funeral for Victor J. Smith, 82, of Fairview, Okla., will be 10 this morning at Mennonite Brethren Church, Fairview. Gary Janzen, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Cedar Cemetery.
Mr. Smith died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital, Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
He was born Feb. 19, 1920, at Fairview, the son of Jonathan and Eva Nightengale Smith. The family lived on a farm west of Fairview before moving to a farm near Dalhart, Texas, where they lived for a few years before returning to the homestead in Fairview where he worked for his father on the farm.
He entered Civilian Public Service and served from 1941 until 1945, working in Henry, Ill., Dennison, Iowa, and Colorado Springs, Colo., as a surveyor.
On Sept. 2, 1945, he married Ruby Wenger at Hesston. They lived in Colorado Springs until returning to Hesston after his discharge from CPS.
A blacksmith, Mr. Smith worked for Lyle Yost and Adin Holdeman in the welding shop, which later became Hesston Corp. The family returned to Fairview in 1948 where he owned and operated Smith's Welding Shop and was also a blacksmith for six years. After selling the shop - which became Fairview Pipe and Supply and later Waldon - to Walt Bartel and Don Martens, he bought a farm near Isabella, Okla., where the family lived and farmed. After retiring in 1985, he enjoyed fishing and traveling with his wife.
He was baptized in 1943 and became a member of Church of God In Christ, Mennonite where he taught Sunday School and was a Vacation Bible School superintendent. He enjoyed singing and sang with a quartet for many years. For the past few years, he attended Mennonite Brethren Church in Fairview.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Victor L., Sedalia, Ky., Roger, of Isabella, and Kevin, Fairview; two daughters, Connie Nightengale and Carol Koehn, both of Copeland; two brothers, Herman Smith, Ingalls, and Wayne Smith, Smiths, Ala.; a sister, Velma Boehs, Moundridge; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Franklin and Eldon Smith; two infant brothers; and an infant granddaughter.

Juanita May Shafer
TRIBUNE - Juanita May Shafer, 82, of Hutchinson, died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at the Dillon Living Center in Hutchinson.
She was born Jan. 6, 1920, at Wilmore, the daughter of Vernon and Kate Olinger Horney.
A longtime resident of the Huntsville community, moving to Hutchinson in 1994, she was a homemaker and a former receptionist at Wesley Towers.
Mrs. Shafer was a member of Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church and a former member of the United Methodist Women and Huntsville Home Extension Unit.
On Jan. 2, 1941, she married James L. Shafer at Huntsville. He survives. She is also survived by a son, Lawrence Shafer, Hutchinson; four daughters, Mary Moeckel, Fort Collins, Colo., Virginia Gibson, Tribune, Barbara Ruta, Hutchinson, and Connie Shafer, Flint, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Horney; and three sisters, Marie Hart, Winifred Moore and Valerie Horney.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Denise Sawyer officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
