Cecil O. Lawrence
DODGE CITY - Cecil O. Lawrence, 78, Dodge City, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.
Mr. Lawrence was born July 11, 1923 in Lane County, the son of John Jacob and Ruth Mildred (West) Lawrence. He married Muriel M. Gunther Feb. 18, 1945, at Dighton.
Cecil attended Lane County Schools. He was a life-long farmer and stockman in Lane County, working for Elmer Bryant and Larry Neeley. He moved to Dodge City in 1998.
His special interest were camping, fishing and especially being with his grandchildren. He was a member of First Christian Church of Dighton.
Survivors include his wife, Muriel M. Lawrence of the home; two daughters, Peggy Sue Rombough, Andover, and Linda Berry, Dodge City; two brothers, Elmer Lawrence, Ontario, Ore., and Roy Lawrence, Fall River; five sisters, Mary Gross, Lockburie, Colo., Grace Smith, Protection, Nina Sherman, Wichita, Virginia Messenger, Dighton, and LaReta Garnier, Springfield, Mo.; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jim Lawrence; and two sisters, Thelma King and Venna Jester.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Dighton, with the Revs. Mike and Kerry Grogan officiating. Burial will be at Dighton Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be until 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton.
Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church or the American Cancer Society in care of Boomhower Funeral Home.
Abram W. Penner
GREENSBURG - Abram W. Penner, 67, Greensburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at Via Christi RMC, St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
Mr. Penner was born June 20, 1934, at Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of Abram and Katharina (Wall) Penner Sr. He married Nancy Neufeld June 13, 1953, at Mexico.
The couple moved from Coldwater to Greensburg in 1994. He was a mechanic and farmed. He was a member of the Reinlaender Mennonite Church in Sublette.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Penner of Greensburg; three sons, Abe N. Penner, Justina, Mexico, and Jake N. and Herman N. Penner, both of Garden City; three daughters, Helena Harms, Garden City, Maria Giesbrecht, Manitoba, Canada, and Annie Peters, Henry, Mexico; a brother, Pete Penner, Mexico; two sisters, Tina Dyck, Canada, and Aganetta Neufeld, Canada; 22 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Pete N. and Johnny N. Penner; two daughters, Nancy N. Penner and Tina N. Penner; a sister, Susan Enns; and two grandchildren, Nancy D. and Helena D. Penner.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Reinlaender Mennonite Church, Sublette, with the Rev. Henry Reimer presiding. Burial will be at Haskell County Cemetery
in Sublette.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Haskell County Funeral Home.

Jim Clark
SAN DIEGO - Jim Clark, 72, San Diego, died Nov. 29, 2001, after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Clark was born Nov. 5, 1929, at Garden City, Kan., the son of Charlie and Alma Clark. He spent his childhood in Garden City.
After college he married Connie Eggers. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Clark, Utah; a son, Patrick Clark, San Diego; two brothers, Robert Clark, Ulysses, and Ken Clark, Holcomb; two sisters, Donna Mader, Holcomb, and Becky Ellis, Johnson; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael.
He was cremated in San Diego. Balboa Cremation Services, San Diego, handled arrangments.
Constance "Connie" A. Walker
LACROSSE - Constance "Connie" A. Walker, 66, La Crosse, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Walker was born March 27, 1935, at Cripple Creek, Colo., the daughter of William F. and Nellie (McGee) Conrad.
Walker was a courtesy clerk for Dillions for 23 years before her retirement in 1996 due to illness.
She was preceded in death by her father, William F. Conrad; one daughter, Kathy Marie Stroud; and one brother, Robert L. Conrad.
Survivors include son, William D. Walker, La Crosse; daughter Jacqueline Stroud-Hall, Wichita, mother Nellie (McGee) Conrad, sister Sally Creamer, Sherman, Texas, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Janousek Funeral Home Chapel, La Crosse with the minister Anthony Dominguez presiding.

Zanada Kerbow
HUGOTON - Zanada Kerbow, 94, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton.
Mrs. Kerbow was born Jan. 22, 1907, at Durwood, Okla., the daughter of William and Josephine (Caldwell) Wiley.
She married Lewis Marion Kerbow Feb. 25, 1934, at Lamar, Colo. He preceded her in death April 19, 1982.
She lived in Hugoton where she and her husband operated Lewis's Cleaning Service for 25 years. After closing the store, she did alterations and sewing out of her home. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing and helping others in need.
She was preceded in death by her husband, grandson Mike Kerbow, granddaughter Natalie (Kerbow) O'Dell, son-in-law Laurence Brower, daughter-in-law Jeanette Renfro, her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Edna Faye Brower, Moscow; two sons, Albert T. Renfro, Ulysses, and Eddie and wife Connie Kerbow, Hugoton; one sister, Veta Dixon, Downey, Calif.; eight great grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church of Hugoton with minister Jeff Aenk presiding. Burial will be at Hugoton Cemetery
in Hugoton.
Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today through Friday at Garnand Funeral Home.
