Ellen Louise Gassner
DIGHTON - Funeral for Ellen Louise Gassner, 86, formerly of Hays, will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church, Hays, with the Rev. William Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mount Allen Cemetery
in Hays.
Mrs. Gassner died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at Kiowa County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg.
She was born June 6, 1915, at Hays, the daughter of Claude and Ellen Grace (Crissman) Replogle. She graduated from Hays High School in 1933, attended Fort Hays State University, and received her teaching certificate in 1935 and her bachelor's degree in 1943. She taught at schools in Yocemento, Saline Valley, Otis and Russell.
A homemaker, Mrs. Gassner was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Fort Hays Alumni Association, Fort Hays Half Century Club, and Rebekah Lodge of which she was a past Noble Grand. She also belonged to the Sunshine Club, Methodist Women's Circle and Sunnybrook County Extension Homemaker Unit.
On June 1, 1947, she married Jacob "Jake" Gassner at Hays. He died Dec. 8, 1982. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Frederick "Fritz" Replogle and Floyd Replogle; and an infant granddaughter.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Insley, Hays, and Donna Price, Dighton; a sister, Ida Hester Wolf, Lebo; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation hours are until 8 tonight at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and after 12:30 p.m. Friday at the church.
A memorial fund has been established as a scholarship fund in her name and memory at Fort Hays State University.
Ronald L. "Ron" Haga
Funeral for Ronald L. "Ron" Haga, 69, of Irving, Texas, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, Irving, with Dr. Dan Hoke and Lee James officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Haga died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at Baylor Medical Center in Irving.
He was born Nov. 20, 1931, at Bedford, Pa., the son of Elza Andrew and Ola Margarite (Shafer) Haga.
A resident of Irving for 45 years, Mr. Haga retired in 1984 after 25 years as vice president at Cook Machinery in Dallas. In 1984 he purchased Baker Sprinkler Systems, which he operated for 10 years.
Mr. Haga had served in the U.S. Air Force Strategic Air Command, was a past master of Sam P. Cochran Masonic Lodge No. 1335, belonged to Plymouth Park United Methodist Church at Irving, was a Hella Temple Shriner and a member of the 7th Bomb Wing B-36 Association and the A.O.P.A. A 1957 graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, he was a lifetime member of the SMU Alumni Association.
On May 29, 1954, he married Patsy Ann Gattis at Dallas. She survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Lee Ann Shrader, Garden City; and a granddaughter.

Loren M. Cockriel
Loren M. Cockriel, 73, of Garden City, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, in Oklahoma City.
He was born Jan. 9, 1928, at Kansas City, the son of Lloyd R. and Margaret J. (Richards) Cockriel.
Survivors include his wife, Illene M. Cockriel, of the home; two daughters, Lisa A. Young and Lauren R. Bardgett, both of Norman, Okla.; a son, Mark A. Cockriel, Phoenix; two sisters, Marceta J. Peak, Orlando, Fla., and Margaret J. Cockriel, Hutchinson; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
No services are planned.
The Cremation Society of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, is in charge of arrangements.
Geneva Mae Mulch
SCOTT CITY - Geneva Mae Mulch, 95, of Scott City, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born Sept. 11, 1906, at Crown Point, Ind., the daughter of Frank E. and Sarah E. (Maroc) Muzzell.
In 1930, she moved from Chicago to Scott City. For the rest of her life, she lived in Scott City or Garden City. A homemaker, she had worked at the Scott County Court House and Scott County Hospital.
Mrs. Mulch was a member of the Christian faith, a lifetime member of Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a Girl Scout volunteer, was active in politics and served on the Garden City School Board.
In the late 1920s, she married Everett M. Mulch in Chicago. He died Nov. 8, 1979. She was also preceded in death by a son, James K. Mulch; two brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include two sons, Lowell E. Mulch, Garden City, and Merrill F. Mulch, Santa Ana, Calif.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Scott County Cemetery, Scott City. Larry Steadman, deacon, will officiate.
Visitation hours are from 1 to 5 p.m. today and Thursday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Scott City. Memorials to the Geneva Mae Mulch Memorial Fund may be sent in care of the funeral home, 401 Washington St., Scott City, KS 67871.
Eleazar "Ez" Zambrano
Prayer service for Eleazar "Ez" Zambrano, 49, of Amarillo, Texas, will be 7 tonight at Blackburn-Shaw Memorial Chapel, Amarillo. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church, Amarillo, with the Revs. Susan D. Arnold and Gene G. Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery, Amarillo.
Mr. Zambrano died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, in Amarillo.
Born in Kenedy, Texas, he graduated from high school in Scott City in 1971 and attended Garden City Community College where he played football and earned an associate's degree.
Mr. Zambrano worked with Page & Associates for 20 years, with the last 10 years as a construction superintendent. He was a member of the carpenters local union since 1989, belonged to the PAGA Golf Association, the Masons, the Shriners and St. Matthews United Methodist Church.
On Nov. 22, 1980, he married Gloria Solis. She survives. He is also survived by two sons, Brian and Eric Zambrano, and a daughter, Stephanie Zambrano, all of Amarillo; a stepson, Adrian Munoz, Dallas; his mother, Victoria Zambrano, San Antonio, Texas; three brothers, Henry Zambrano Jr., Amarillo, Elias Zambrano, San Antonio, and Edward Zambrano, Holcomb; two sisters, Lollie Luker and Ruth Zambrano, both of San Antonio; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Fern Bernice Krohn
HUGOTON - Fern Bernice Krohn, 76, of Hugoton, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001.
She was born March 11, 1925, at Moscow, the daughter of Paul and Grace (May) Wilson. The family moved to Towner, Colo., in 1930 where she grew up and attended school.
In 1942, she married Lloyd O. Fox at Syracuse. They had one son, Larry Dean Fox. They later divorced. On March 26, 1949, she married Leonard H. Krohn at Fort Collins, Colo. They had a daughter, Pamela Marie Rowe. He preceded her in death as did her parents, an older brother and a grandson.
Mrs. Krohn had worked as a cafeteria manager for Woolworth's. The family moved to Calhan, Colo., in 1950, where they lived for 25 years. In 1985, they moved to Moscow. She had been a Hugoton resident since 1999 and was a member of Assembly of God Church in Hugoton.
She is survived by a brother, Robert Wilson, Calhan; a son, Larry Fox, Hugoton; a daughter, Pamela Rowe, Garden City; two grandsons; a granddaughter; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday in Hugoton Cemetery, with the Rev. Robert Bailey officiating.
Visitation hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton. Memorials are suggested to the Pioneer Manor's Yard Fund, in care of the funeral home, Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
Irene Dannebohm
Funeral for Irene Dannebohm, 89, of Ellinwood, was 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, rural Ellinwood, with the Rev. David Wesner officiating. Burial was in Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood.
Mrs. Dannebohm died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at Leisure Homestead in Stafford.
She was born Dec. 10, 1911, at Alden, the daughter of Claude and Louise (Reiser) Parker. She graduated from Alden High School in 1928.
A lifetime Barton County resident, Mrs. Dannebohm was a homemaker and belonged to First Baptist Church, Ellinwood.
On Nov. 6, 1929, she married Stanley Dannebohm at Alden. He died Nov. 20, 1993.
Survivors include four sons, Donald, Robert, Gary and Larry, all of Ellinwood; a daughter, Marilyn Meyer, Garden City; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the church or Ellinwood Ambulance Fund, both in care of Kimple Funeral Home, Ellinwood.
