Clifford W. "Bill" Lindner Jr.
Clifford W. "Bill" Lindner Jr., 58, of Lewistown, Mont., died of chronic congestive heart failure Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, at a nursing home there.
Born at Syracuse on Feb. 27, 1943, he was the son of Clifford W. Sr. and Edril M. Lindner. He went to school in Kansas, graduating in 1961 from Lakin High School, where he still holds the shot put and discus records. He then attended Hays State University on football and track scholarships, receiving a bachelor's degree in geology in 1968.
Mr. Lindner has a geological fossil discovery named after him, "The Kansasteuthis LindnerII," at Fort Hays' Sternberg Museum.
A Montana resident since the mid-1980s, he enjoyed knife collecting, reading western novels and playing cards.
He is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Ann Lindner, Des Moines, Iowa; two brothers, Terry, Sedalia, Colo., and Randy, Brighton, Colo.; and a sister, Nina Robinson, Syracuse.
No services are planned. Cremation has taken place.
Cloyd Funeral Home, Lewiston, Mont., was in charge of arrangements.
Elvia Sanchez
TRIBUNE - Vigil service for Elvia Sanchez, 28, will be 7 p.m. MDT Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tribune. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. MDT Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Charles Mazouch officiating. Burial will be in Greeley County Cemetery, Tribune.
She died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Kearny County.
She was born Oct. 20, 1973, at Ojinaga, Mexico, the daughter of Mardonio and Arcelia (Machuca) Sanchez.
A resident of Tribune since 1975, she was an employee of Dairy-Oz, Deerfield.
Survivors, all of Tribune, include two sons, Austin C. Boehme and Axel C. Sanchez; a daughter, Alexis C. Boehme; her parents; and three sisters, Icenia Valdez, Karime Sanchez and Yudith Sanchez.
Visitation hours are from 3 to 8 tonight and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Tribune. Memorials are suggested to the Children of Elvia Sanchez Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
Tacey Floryancic
SATANTA - Funeral for Tacey Floryancic, 25, of Satanta and formerly of Hugoton, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, Hugoton, with the Rev. Tom Massey officiating. Burial will be in Hugoton Cemetery.
Miss Floryancic died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, in an automobile accident south of Garden City which also took the life of her mother, Karen Sue Howe.
She was born March 5, 1976, at Fort Bragg, N.C., the daughter of Terry Floryancic and Karen Sue Bell.
A Satanta resident since May 2001, moving from Emporia, she had graduated from Emporia State University in May with a degree in elementary education. She worked for the Satanta Clinic and enjoyed computers.
Survivors include her dad, Mark Howe, Satanta; her sister, Tammy Marie Floryancic, Kansas City; her father, Terry Floryancic, Hardesty, Okla.; her grandparents, Harold and Rita Floryancic, Albuquerque, N.M.; and her half brother, Steven Arnold, Fayetteville, N.C.

Karen Sue Howe
SATANTA - Funeral for Karen Sue Howe, 49, of Satanta and formerly of Hugoton, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, Hugoton, with the Rev. Tom Massey officiating. Burial will be in Hugoton Cemetery.
Mrs. Howe died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, in an automobile accident south of Garden City which also took the life of her daughter, Tacey Floryancic.
She was born June 26, 1952, at Liberal, the daughter of Glenn and Lita (Delay) Bell.
On Oct. 4, 1991, she married Mark Howe at Hugoton. They moved from Hugoton to Satanta in March 1999. A resident of southwest Kansas for most of her life, she was a homemaker. She enjoyed going on the truck with her husband, and also enjoyed her family and her home. Her hobbies were collecting dolls and doing ceramics. She was a member of The First Church, Satanta.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Tammy Marie Floryancic, Kansas City; her twin sister, Sharon Davis, Woods; one nephew; and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Greg A. Larson
Greg A. Larson, 24, of Marquette, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001.
Born in Garden City on Aug. 4, 1977, he was the son of Brion and Nancy Larson. He was employed as a security guard for Target at Hutchinson.
He is survived by a brother, Rob Larson, and two sisters, Jolene and Anna Larson, all of Marquette; his parents, Marquette; and his grandparents, Blanche Larson, Norma Shafer and Marvin Shafer, all of Garden City. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Larson.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Elim Lutheran Church, Marquette. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Marquette.

Imajean "Jeannie" Steen
ULYSSES - Imajean "Jeannie" Steen, 72, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at Northern Nevada Medical Center in Reno, Nev.
She was born Jan. 25, 1929, at Hopeville, Calif., the daughter of William and Leva (Newton) Yingling.
A resident of Fallon, Nev., for 11 years, moving from Ulysses, she was a registered nurse. She had worked at Churchill Community Hospital in Fallon from 1990 to 1995 and had been a registered nurse at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses for 20 years.
On Feb. 13, 1954, she married Ronald Steen at Reno. He survives. She is also survived by three sons, John Strickland, Topeka, Mike Strickland, Decatur, Ill., and David Steen, Houston; a sister, Dean Denair, Oroville, Calif.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ernest and Kenneth Yingling.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Ulysses Cemetery, with Dr. Max Clayton officiating.

Barry "Butch" Stover
INGALLS - Barry "Butch" Stover, 54, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
He was born April 26, 1947, at Garden City, the son of Harold and Della Mae (Lalicker) Stover.
A former Ulysses resident, he moved to Elkhart in 1981 and then to Ingalls earlier this year. He was an oilfield worker and a truck driver.
Mr. Stover was a member of the Christian faith and served in the U.S. Army as a Vietnam combat veteran.
He is survived by three sons, Chris Stover, Othello, Wash., Todd McCabe and Trent McCabe, both of Elkhart; three daughters, Cindy Sikes, Penni Hopkins and Mary Mason, all of Arlington, Wash.; a brother, Randy Stover, Norman, Okla.; three sisters, Sharon Redger, Montezuma, Carol Tuttle, Nixa, Mo., and Deanna Sanstad, Longmont, Colo.; and 15 grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, with the Rev. Keith Ensz officiating.
