Adryon Michelle Knoll
HOLCOMB - Adryon Michelle Knoll, the daughter of Benjamin and LaDonna (Novack) Knoll of Holcomb, was stillborn Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City, with the Rev. Joseph Bahr officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Allyson and Madyson Knoll, both of the home; her grandparents, Danny and Jolene Novack, and Harold and Louaine Knoll, all of Garden City; and her great-grandparents, Kelsey and Rosetta Garnand, and Rosie Knoll, all of Garden City, John and Kate Novack, Deerfield, and C.J. and Lenora Mouser, Hooker, Okla.
There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to St. Dominic Catholic Church, in care of the funeral home, 412 N. Seventh St.
William "Bill" Scott
SCOTT CITY - William "Bill" Scott, 66, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at Scott County Hospital in Scott City.
He was born Sept. 12, 1934, in Gove County, the son of O.C. and Agnes (Roemer) Scott.
Mr. Scott had been a Scott City resident since 1965, moving from Oakley. He worked in construction and as a mill worker until moving to Salina in 1988 to work as the maintenance supervisor at St. Johns Hospital. Following his retirement in 1997, he returned to Oakley. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post No. 7773, Scott City.
On Sept. 5, 1959, he married Maxine Blau at Leoti. She survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Tamara Wilcoxson, Pamela Emberton and Sheila Brau, and a son, Donald Scott, all of Scott City; four sisters, Alta Krebs, Scott City, Erma Jacka, Oakley, Lois Muller, Pratt, and Louise Crouch, Zephyr Hills, Fla.; two brothers, Merlin Scott, Mesa, Ariz., and Fred Scott, El Segundo, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, seven brothers and two sisters.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sunrise Baptist Church, Oakley, with Elder John Holtzmeister officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Gove County Cemetery, Gove.
Visitation hours are from 1 to 8 p.m. today and Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Scott City, and from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church in Oakley.
Barbara Anne "Babs" Gardiner
Barbara Anne "Babs" Gardiner, 71, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.
She was born Aug. 16, 1929, at Weston, Mo., the daughter of R.L. and Laura Anne (Settle) Schaback. She was a graduate of William Woods and Kansas State colleges.
A resident of Garden City since 1955, moving from Weston, she was a paraprofessional for special education at Abe Hubert Middle School.
Mrs. Gardiner was a member of Community Congregational Church, Kappa Delta sorority at KSU and Chapter FF, P.E.O. She enjoyed sewing and bridge.
On Oct. 6, 1952, she married William Gardiner at Weston.
Survivors include a daughter, Dee Wigner, Garden City; and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a brother, John.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Community Congregational Church, with the Rev. Mike Lake officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery
in Weston.
Visitation hours are from 1 to 8 p.m. today and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Garden City. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice, in care of the funeral home, 620 N. Main St.
Dale V. Guy
Graveside service for Dale V. Guy, 83, of Garden City, will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Roselawn Cemetery, Pueblo, Colo., with his family members sharing in a time of remembrance.
Mr. Guy died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at Terrace Garden Care Center in Garden City.
Born April 14, 1918, at Guide Rock, Neb., he was the son of Meredith and Kate Guy. He had been a former resident of Pueblo and Lamar, Colo.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews including Charles Guy of Garden City, Gary Guy, Montrose, Colo., Janice Jo Jorgensen, Greeley, Colo., and Glen Guy, Kent, Wash.; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Eleanor Lopresto; and four brothers, Glenn, Dean, Charles and Ed M. Guy.
Visitation hours are from 10 a.m. until service time at Roselawn Chapel, Roselawn Cemetery
in Pueblo. Memorials are suggested to Terrace Garden Care Center, Box 955, Garden City, KS 67846.

Vera Louise Roberts
LEOTI - Vera Louise Roberts, 86, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at the Wichita County Long Term Care Unit in Leoti.
She was born Feb. 3, 1915, in Kingman County, the daughter of Chester W. and Hattie (Belcher) Bowyer.
Mrs. Roberts had been a resident of Wichita County since 1947. A homemaker, she was a retired school bus driver. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and also belonged to Lydia E.H.U.
On Nov. 17, 1946, she married Lee Roberts at Varner. He survives. She is also survived by four sons, Gary, Leawood, Gordon, Molina, Colo., Gregory, Leoti, and Garold, Springfield, Mo.; a daughter, Gayle Studer, Topeka; a brother, Leland Bowyer, Lubbock, Texas; three sisters, La Rue Cornielson, Florence, Ariz., Darlene Staats, Brighton, Colo., and Lorraine Conwell, Milo, Mo.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Leoti, with the Rev. Rick Woolard officiating. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Leoti. Memorials are suggested to the church, in care of the funeral home.
Jerry Finley
Funeral for Jerry Finley, 75, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City, with the Rev. Donald E. Carter officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
Mr. Finley died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
He was born Aug. 4, 1926, at Topeka, the son of Gerald George and Agnes R. (Padgett) Finley. The family moved to Garden City in 1938. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1945.
A farmer/stockman in Finney County, his special interests were auto racing and his Packard car collection, and he especially enjoyed coaching and judging boxing matches for the Garden City Boxing Club.
Mr. Finley was a board member of the Garden City Township Clerks and of Drainage District No. 2.
He is survived by a brother, Bob Finley, Garden City; and two sisters, Francis D. Gillan, Garden City, and Pat Noel-Johnson, Newport, Ore. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Grace Harper Walton
SATANTA - Graveside service for Grace Harper Walton, 92, a former Satanta resident, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Dudley Township Cemetery, Satanta, with the Rev. Walter Birney officiating.
Mrs. Walton died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at Trinity Manor Nursing Home in Dodge City, where she had been a resident since January 2001.
She was born Sept. 22, 1908, at Hillsboro, the daughter of William H. and Effie (Clay) Evans. She attended schools in western Kansas along the Santa Fe Railroad, as her father was a section foreman on that line.
In the early 1920s, she came to Satanta where she met Wilks G. Harper. They were married Oct. 3, 1924, and raised three sons and three daughters. As farmers, they went through the Depression. He died May 10, 1952.
On May 4, 1960, she married Paul Walton. He died April 29, 1987. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Robert Wilks Harper and George William Harper; two daughters, Carolea Fields and Earlene Swartz; three brothers, Earl, Frank and Harry Evans; two sisters, Edith Jones and Bertha Harrom; three grandsons; and one granddaughter.
For several years, Mrs. Walton lived in Ulysses where her children attended school. She then went to Boise City, Okla., and the area of Keyes, Okla., where she lived from 1955 until moving to Larned in 1987. She moved into the Satanta Long Term Care Unit in 1992 and then moved to Trinity Manor.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Christian Church of Ulysses. She enjoyed her yard and flowers, and making quilts for her family in her later years.
Survivors include a son, Gary Harper, Fallbrook, Calif.; a daughter, Helen Swisher, Mullinville; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
