John R. "Johnny" Graves
SCOTT CITY - John R. "Johnny" Graves, 94, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City.
He was born Oct. 6, 1906, in Lane County, the son of John and Ethel (Denney) Graves. He graduated from Healy High School.
He had been a lifetime resident of the Healy area until moving to Scott City in 1986. A farmer, he was a member of First Christian Church of Scott City and the Elks Lodge of Garden City. He achieved the rank of lieutenant while serving in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On June 20, 1958, he married Geraldine Sheley at Dodge City. She survives. He is also survived by a stepson, Howard Sheley, Hastings, Neb.; a step-granddaughter; and a step-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church, Scott City, with the Rev. John Warring officiating. Burial will be in Scott County Cemetery, Scott City.
Visitation hours are from 1 to 8 p.m. today and Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Scott City. Memorials to the Johnny Graves Memorial Fund may be sent in care of the funeral home.
John T. Keeler
John T. Keeler, 84, of Carthage, Mo., and formerly of Garden City, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at McCune-Brooks Hospital.
He was born Dec. 7, 1916, in Jasper County, Mo., the son of Peter and Alice (Brown) Keeler.
A resident of Carthage for six years, moving from Garden City, he was a grain elevator manager for the Bunge Corp. for 32 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Center Point Christian Church of Carthage, belonged to the Eagles Lodge, VFW Post and American Legion, all at Garden City, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theatre.
On April 11, 1946, he married Kay Taylor at Pittsburg. She survives. He is also survived by a son, Dennis Keeler, Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Brenda Binns, Morton, Ill.; a brother, Gene Keeler, Goodman, Mo.; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, Mo. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Carthage.

Helen Marie "Billie" Curtis
Helen Marie "Billie" Curtis, 83, of Hugoton died Thursday, March 22, 2001 in the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton.
Ms. Curtis was born Sept. 4, 1917, in Comanche County to Roy and Grace (Teeter) Gillespie.
She moved to Hugoton in 1920 and lived there the rest of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Hugoton Baptist Church, The VFW auxilliary and Bas Bleu.
Ms. Curtis married Nelson Curtis in 1941 in Tijuana, Mexico. He preceded her in death Jan. 2, 1976.
Survivors include two brothers, Glenn and Floyd Gillespie of Hugoton; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Hugoton Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Hugoton Cemetery.

Dorothy M. Holt-Wallace
TRIBUNE - Funeral for Dorothy M. Holt-Wallace, 81, will be 2 p.m. MDT Saturday at First Baptist Church, Tribune, with the Rev. Mark Randolph officiating. Burial will be in Greeley County Cemetery, Tribune.
She died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Greeley County Hospital in Tribune.
Born Sept. 10, 1919, in Linn County, she was the daughter of Omer and Goldie (Andersen) Reynolds. A homemaker, she had been a Tribune resident since 1988, moving from Welch, Okla., and was a member of First Baptist Church.
In 1933, she married Floyd J. Amer in Linn County. They later divorced. In 1956, she married Phil C. Holt at Anchorage, Alaska. He died in 1984. In 1992, she married Walter Wallace at Tribune. He died March 10, 1997, at Tribune. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Survivors include a daughter, D. Jean Moser, Tribune; a sister, Lucille Schoenberger, Minnesota; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation hours are until 8 tonight and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Tribune. Memorials are suggested to the church or Helmwood Care Home, both in care of the funeral home.
Cecil B. Stewart
ELKHART - Funeral for Cecil B. Stewart, 84, of Pueblo, Colo., will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Elkhart. Burial will be in Elkhart Cemetery.
Mr. Stewart died Wednesday, March 21, 2001.
Born April 1, 1916, at the family home near Keyes, Okla., he was the son of Burt and Edna Stewart.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Vineland, Colo., and Masonic Lodge No. 17 of Pueblo, and served during World War II as an aircraft mechanic. He enjoyed spending time with his family, being outdoors enjoying nature, and helping his fellow residents at Chateau Assisted Living in Pueblo.
Survivors include two daughters, LaJean Chance and Judi Stewart, both of Pueblo; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold and Donald, both of Keyes; a sister, Nellie Preston, Quincy, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maudie; his parents; three brothers, Ed, Johnnie and Roy; and two sisters, Ethel Mae and Lucille.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer Memory Walk 2001, in care of Thelma Pulver/Chateau, 1201 W. Abriendo, Pueblo, CO 81004.

Ramona Lea Dart
ULYSSES - Ramona Lea Dart, 69, of Ulysses, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
She was born Oct. 20, 1931, at Selman, Okla., the daughter of Howard and Tilly (Miller) Stebbens. She grew up in Selman and attended schools there.
On Oct. 25, 1947, she married Carl Dart at Buffalo, Okla. They lived in Sunray, Texas and Buffalo, Okla., before moving to Garden City in 1954. In 1982, they moved to Ulysses.
A homemaker, Mrs. Dart enjoyed cross stitch, sewing and reading. She was a member of First Assembly of God at Ulysses and the Women's Missionary Council.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Mike Dart, Wichita, and Kerry Dart, Garden City; a daughter, Debbie Specht, Garden City; two sisters, Carol Kalka, Chandler, Okla., and Patti Craig, Shellknob, Mo.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Wayne Stebbens; and a grandson.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God, Garden City, with the Revs. Paul Bryant and Mike Holman officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, with the Rev. Leland DeMent officiating.
Visitation hours are from 5 to 8 tonight and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City, with the family visiting with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Margaret A. Youngblood
Funeral for Margaret A. Youngblood, 88, was to be 3 p.m. today at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Garden City, with the Rev. Robert Cousins officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, El Centro, Calif.
Mrs. Youngblood died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.
She was born Aug. 6, 1912, at Pittsburgh, the daughter of Charles W. and Olive May (Bain) Pearson.
A Garden City resident since 1990, she had lived in Meadville, Pa., from 1927 to 1969 and in El Centro from 1969 to 1990. She was a homemaker, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Garden City and volunteered with the Salvation Army for many years.
On June 29, 1946, she married William P. Youngblood at Meadville. He died Jan. 20, 1972, at El Centro. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by two daughters, Sarah M. Melnick, Holcomb, and Marlene A. Smeltzer, Garden City; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
