Billy LoRee Pearson
HAYS - Billy LoRee Pearson, 77, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at the Hays Medical Center, St. Anthony Campus.
Pearson was born Aug. 12, 1923, at her family's farm in rural Graham County to Loyal and Persis (Miller) Brumbaugh.
She had been a resident of WaKeeney since 1951 and worked for 28 years as a kitchen aide at Trego Lemke Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Ogallah Christian Church in Ogallah, and was also active in the Ladies Aid at the church. Pearson graduated from Hill City High School in 1941.
She married Bill Pearson of WaKeeney on June 7, 1941, in Hill City. He survives.
Pearson is also survived by two daughters, Sue Brownlee and Shelly Washington, both of Garden City; two brothers, her twin, Loyal Brumbaugh of Roswell, Idaho, and Gene Brumbaugh of Caldwell, Idaho; one sister, Joan Blakeney of Lincoln City, Ore.; and five grandchildren.
A daughter, Sheryl Evinger, and two brothers died earlier.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 N. 12th St., WaKeeney. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Services will be at 10 a.m. at the Ogallah Christian Church in Ogallah on Thursday, Nov. 16, with the Rev. Wayne Lofton officiating. Burial will follow at the WaKeeney City Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the Ogallah Christian Church.
Bessie O. Lee
ULYSSES - Bessie O. Lee, 87, of Ulysses, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, at the Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses.
She was born Sept. 28, 1913, to Eli Benton and Grace (McConnell) Miller in Russell.
Mrs. Lee had been a Ulysses resident since 1959 where she worked as a dietitian at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital. She attended the Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses.
She married Robert E. Lee on May 5, 1930, in Kansas. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by eight sons, Robert E. Lee Jr. of Beaver City, Neb., George Benton Lee of Labette, Donnie E. Lee of McAlester, Okla., Arthur Lee of Salina, Jerry Lee of Columbus, Texas, Lonnie Lee of Ulysses, Larry Lee of Greeley, Colo.; four daughters, Juanita Howard of Longmont, Colo., Cheryl Deyoe of Joplin, Mo., Carol George of Liberal, Ethel Bollinger of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Helen Finch of Natoma; and 48 grandchildren.
Three sons and one daughter died earlier.
Services for Lee will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Shelton Memorial Christian Church of Ulysses with the Rev. Bill Harrold presiding. Burial will follow in Ulysses Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Grant County Funeral Home.

Rhonda Kay Ridenour
DODGE CITY - Rhonda Kay Ridenour, 33, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at the Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.
Ridenour was born Nov. 9, 1967, to William and Rosa (Munk) Geerdes in Hoxie.
Ridenour was a Cimarron resident since 1988 where she worked as a secretary and paraprofessional at the elementary school. She enjoyed family and outdoor activities and collecting Precious Moments and angels.
She married Scott Ridenour on April 16, 1988, in Grinnell. He survives.
Ridenour is also survived by her mother and step-father, Rosa and Philip Stover of Colby; one son, Mitchell Ridenour of Cimarron; one daughter, Katelyn Ridenour of Cimarron; two sisters, Donata Wolf of Grinnell and Brenda Gaccetta of Parker, Colo.; three step-brothers, Terry and Lynn Stover both of Colby and Ross Stover of Sioux City, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her father.
There will be a vigil at 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Ingalls. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Ingalls with the Rev. Joseph Bahr presiding. Burial will follow in Cimarron Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Cimarron Library or the American Diabetes Association in care of the Swaim Funeral Chapel of Cimarron.
Paul T. Crist
SYRACUSE - Paul T. Crist, 97, died Nov. 13, 2000, at Hamilton County Hospital in Syracuse.
He was born Sept. 23, 1903, in Syracuse, the son of Thomas Jefferson Crist and Margaret (Barrick) Crist. They preceded him in death.
Mr. Crist lived his entire life in Hamilton County, first in Coolidge, then he moved to Syracuse in 1991.
He attended White School in the Bear Creek Community.
Mr. Crist married Margaret Herbig on April 8, 1926, in Lamar, Colo. She preceded him in death on Sept. 6, 1940. He married Stella H. Palmer on Aug. 22, 1942, in Boise City, Okla. She preceded him in death on April 27, 1994.
He was a farmer/rancher his entire life until he retired in 1991. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and lifetime member of the Coolidge Masonic Lodge. He had been a founder and board member of the Southeastern Colorado Co-op, a member of the Hamilton County Fair Board, a Coolidge School Board member, Wheatland Electric Board member, Coolidge Odd Fellows member and an active member of the Farm Bureau.
He loved farming and his cows. In fact, he had named each one of his short-horn cattle. He enjoyed tinkering in his workshop and made windmills.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Florence Crist; a son, Robert Drew; two grandsons, Paul Ayers and Sam Ayers; four sisters, Bulus Fay Crist, Thalus Jennings Crist, Nova Zemba Crist and Naomi Crist; and two brothers, Elmo Titus Crist and Basil Wade Crist.
Survivors include two sons, Harvey Crist of Mesquite, Nev., and Dale H. Crist of Sacramento, Calif.; two daughters, Naomi Rice of Holly, Colo., and Margaret Ayers of Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, Tom Crist of Longmont, Colo., and Gary D. Crist of Syracuse; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the Greene-Fellers Funeral Home in Syracuse on Wednesday from 9 a.m. (MST) to 8 p.m., Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. (MST) Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Syracuse. A flower card reading will be held at 10 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
Internment will follow the church service at the Syracuse Kansas Cemetery.

Leo C. Huse
Leo C. Huse, 84, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.
Huse was born Nov. 28, 1915, to Frank and Clara (Marx) Huse in Willowdale.
He moved to Garden City in 1975 from Wichita, where he graduated from Wichita Cathedral High School. Huse spent more than 63 years as a farmer and enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards. He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church as well as the Garden City and Scott City Co-ops.
Huse married Dorothy Jarmer on Oct. 1, 1940, in Wichita. She survives.
Huse is survived by five sons, Rod Huse of Garden City, Norm Huse of Dodge City, Mark Huse of Georgetown, Texas, Dennis Huse of Columbia, Md., and Fred Huse of Kansas City, Kan.; one brother, Sylvester Huse of Warnerville, N.Y.; one sister, Sister Teresita of Great Bend; and 10 grandchildren.
One brother, Cletus Huse, died earlier.
A vigil will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Dominic with the Rev. Joseph Bahr presiding. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City.
Memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer's Foundation or the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N. Seventh St.
