Nancy Mae Helmle-Probst
ULYSSES - Nancy Mae Helmle-Probst, 32, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000.
She was born Dec. 15, 1967.
Survivors include her husband, Matthew J. Probst, and a daughter, Lalia Mae, both of Midwest City, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Katie and Amy Probst, Lawton, Okla.; her parents, Carl S. and Alberta R. Helmle, Johnson City; two brothers, Curt Helmle, Johnson City, and Byron Helmle, Norman, Okla.; two nieces; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, Ulysses.
Memorials may be sent to Johnson State Bank, P.O. Box 130, Johnson City, KS 67855 for the education of her daughter.
Juletta R. Boultinghouse
Vigil service for Juletta R. Boultinghouse, 80, will be 7:30 tonight at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Garden City, followed by rosary. Funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Joseph Bahr officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
Mrs. Boultinghouse died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at Evergreen Gardens Assisted Living in Garden City.
She was born July 31, 1920, at Leoville, the daughter of Pete and Margaret (Duesberg) Pauls. She grew up in Selden and attended schools there before taking nurse's training in Salina, graduating in 1943. She then moved to Colby where she worked as a registered nurse.
On July 19, 1949, she married Louis A. Boultinghouse at Colby. They moved to Garden City in 1959. She continued to work as a registered nurse, retiring in 1982 after more than 40 years. After her retirement, she worked as a volunteer at St. Catherine Hospital and also worked at the hospital's gift shop and at Dr. Luther Fry's office.
Mrs. Boultinghouse was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, Senior Center of Finney County and the Maris Stella Club. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, knitting and traveling.
She is survived by her husband; four sons, Monte L. Boultinghouse, Overland Park, Rodney R. Boultinghouse, Tacoma, Wash., Kevin L. Boultinghouse and Craig A. Boultinghouse, both of Garden City; two daughters, LuEtta Boultinghouse, Garden City, and Michelle C. McMillan, Overland Park; a brother, Richard Pauls, Selden; five sisters, Eulalia Mayo, Hays, Amelia Sulzman, Oberlin, Pauline Grace, Midland, Texas, Etta Marie Sulzman, Selden, and Lavina Thomas, Westminster, Colo.; and a granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Pauls.
Visitation hours are until 6:30 tonight at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Memorials are suggested to the Garden City Community College Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund, the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society, all in care of the funeral home.
Mary Pauline "Polly" Kennard
ULYSSES - Mary Pauline "Polly" Kennard, 89, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses where she had been a resident since 1994, moving from Safety Harbor, Fla.
She was born March 5, 1911, at Stigler, Okla., the daughter of Elmer B. and Iva Edna (Oslin) Wallace.
Mrs. Kennard had worked as a disperse clerk for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. in Washington, D.C. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Eastern Star, both in Florida.
In May 1954, she married Fredrick Kennard. He died Oct. 11, 1983. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Elmer B. Wallace Jr.; and three sisters, Beatrice Scarbrough, Merle Fairfax and Earline Slate.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Jan Price, Ashland, Pa.; a sister, Bobbie Scott, Satanta; and several nephews and nieces.
Cremation has taken place, with private inurnment planned for later.
Haskell County Funeral Home, Sublette, was in charge of arrangements.
Ermic Weaver
Funeral for Ermic Weaver, 82, of Garden City, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sayre (Okla.) Church of Christ, with Kevin Ballard and Darrell Rains officiating. Burial will be in Berlin (Okla.) Cemetery.
Mr. Weaver died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, in Garden City.
He was born April 18, 1918, at Havana, Ark., the son of Era Eugene and John Celix Weaver. When he was 11, the family moved south of Elk City, Okla.
On Nov. 28, 1940, he married Annie V. Fogg at Elk City. They lived in the Carter community in Oklahoma before moving to the Berlin community in 1950. In 1995, they moved into Sayre.
A farmer and cattleman, Mr. Weaver was a member of Sayre Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Joe Weaver, Holcomb, Leon Weaver, Garden City, and Jimmy Weaver, Boise City, Okla.; three sisters, Vivian Richardson, Mavus Weaver and Geneva Saarty, all of Dallas; two brothers, Foy Weaver, Elk City, and Doyle Weaver, Dallas; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Naomi Weaver, Hazel Shirley and Alma Weaver; and a brother, Winfard Weaver.
Memorials are suggested to Westview Boys Home or Tipton Childrens Home, both in care of Rose Chapel Funeral Service, Sayre.
Bryan Palacio
Funeral for Bryan Palacio, 24, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, Garden City, with the Rev. Donald E. Carter officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
Mr. Palacio died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph Campus, Wichita.
He was born July 18, 1976, at Garden City, the son of Tony and Rhonda (Lynch) Palacio. He attended Garden City schools.
Mr. Palacio had worked as a chef at Southwind Country Club in Garden City before moving to Wichita in 1999 where he was a chef at the Apple Tree Restaurant. His special interest was playing pool.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Tony and Patty Palacio, Garden City; his mother, Rhonda Lynch, St. John; three brothers, Richard Palacio and Jason Lynch, both of Walton Beach, Fla., and Ronnie Palacio, Garden City; his grandparents, Lupe Palacio and Joe Palacio, both of Garden City, and Ruth Mace, St. John; two stepbrothers, Garrett Speer, Garden City, and Theron Speer, Oklahoma City; and a stepsister, Kim Morrison, Garden City. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Willie Lynch.

Lewis E. Woelk
TRIBUNE - Funeral for Lewis E. Woelk, 84, will be 2 p.m. MDT Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Tribune, with the Rev. Mark Randolph officiating. Burial will be in Greeley County Cemetery, Tribune, with military honors conducted.
Mr. Woelk died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at Greeley County Hospital in Tribune.
He was born July 14, 1916, at Pawnee Rock, the son of Edward H. and Mary E. (Rich) Woelk.
A farmer, he had been a Greeley County resident since 1953. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church and a member of VFW Post No. 7521, all at Tribune, a charter member of Sheridan Lake (Colo.) Bible Church, served on the board of directors of the Horn Creek Conference Center at Westcliffe, Colo., was a former president of GW Credit Union, and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II.
On Oct. 2, 1940, he married Jennie L. Cronkite at Ulysses. She survives. He is also survived by two sons, Ronald, Leawood, and David, Tribune; two brothers, Clarence, Sheridan Lake, and Bill, Eads, Colo.; three sisters, Ruth Daughenbaugh, Derby, Lena Shuck, Greenville, S.C., and Leona Smith, Pittsfield, Maine; and four grandchildren.

Dora R. Fry
Funeral for Dora R. Fry, 92, of Dodge City, was to be 10:30 this morning at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, with Dr. Michael F. Gardner officiating. Burial was to be in Fairview Cemetery, Montezuma.
Mrs. Fry died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born July 14, 1908, at Hillsboro, the daughter of Henry and Katharina (Funk) Riesen. She graduated from Hillsboro High School and from Bethel College.
Mrs. Fry had taught school in Montezuma for five years. A homemaker, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Sororis Club, and was a 50-year member of Eastern Star.
On May 12, 1935, she married Earl L. Fry at Montezuma. He died Oct. 4, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
She is survived by a son, Luther L. Fry, Garden City; and two grandchildren.
