Betty Jane Walker
ULYSSES - Funeral for Betty Jane Walker, 51, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, Ulysses, with Dr. Max Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in Ulysses Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, in Stevens County.
She was born May 12, 1949, at Ellsworth, the daughter of Rudy and Elena (Lambott) Neuman. She graduated from Ellsworth High School and attended Fort Hays State University.
A Ulysses resident since 1973, she was a customer service representative at Grant County Bank in Ulysses for the past 10 years, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed working on crafts, attending her sons' activities, and making things for her grandchildren.
On Jan. 25, 1970, she married Jim Walker at Ellsworth. He survives. She is also survived by two sons, Jeff Walker, Salt Lake City, and Mike Walker, Brighton, Colo.; two grandchildren; her parents, Ellsworth; and a brother, Paul Neuman, Ellsworth. She was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Dean Neuman.

Mary E. Eddington
Funeral for Mary E. Eddington, 74, of Dodge City, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Burkhart Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, with the Rev. Ray Raley officiating. Burial will be in Greencrest Memorial Gardens, Dodge City.
Mrs. Eddington died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at Western Plains Regional Hospital in Dodge City.
She was born Aug. 1, 1926, at Burr Oak, the daughter of Herman and Nina (Pierce) Myers. A Dodge City resident since April 1979, moving from Garden City, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Eddington was a member of Community Congregational Church of Garden City, Order of Eastern Star at Belleville, American Legion Auxiliary at Dodge City and was a former member of Rebekah Lodge at Garden City. She was a former president of American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 9 and a life member of VFW Auxiliary Post No. 2279, both at Garden City, and served as a Girl Scout leader for several years.
On June 21, 1947, she married R.W. Eddington at Courtland. He survives. She is also survived by a son, Tom Eddington, Hutchinson; three daughters, Linda Eddington, Scott City, Cindy Finke, Reno, Nev., and Phyllis Ridgeway, Forest Grove, Ore.; four brothers, Lee Myers, Concordia, Ray Myers, Wakarusa, Lewis Myers, Hastings, Neb., and Norman Myers, Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Ardell Chindberg, Alamogordo, N.M., and Sylvia Kell, Aurora, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Dee Myers and Darlene Myers; and two brothers, Clarence and Verl.

Robert C. "Bob" McCauley
ULYSSES - Funeral for Robert C. "Bob" McCauley, 69, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Shelton Memorial Christian Church, Ulysses, with the Rev. Bill Harrold officiating. Burial will follow in Ulysses Cemetery.
Mr. McCauley died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
He was born April 14, 1931, at Dodge City, the son of Clarence W. and Hazel E. (Gresham) McCauley.
A Ulysses resident since 1945, moving from Bucklin, he farmed and was involved in custom cutting, truck driving and custom hay operations. For 14 years he drove a truck for Barney Rogers Dirt Contractor Inc., retiring in 1996.
Mr. McCauley was a past president of the Ulysses Little League and the Big Orange Booster Club, and belonged to the Bit and Spur Club.
On June 7, 1950, he married Norma Hammer at Clayton, N.M. She survives. He is also survived by three sons, Steve McCauley, Tim McCauley and Randy McCauley, all of Ulysses; three brothers, Charles A. McCauley, Ryus, James McCauley and Bruce McCauley, both of Denver; two sisters, Norma Bair and Barbara Jean Edwards, both of Independence, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a niece and two nephews.

Lola Campbell Hudgens
Johnson CITY - Lola Campbell Hudgens, 93, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at the Stanton County Long Term Care Unit in Johnson City.
She was born June 9, 1907, at Lyons, the daughter of U.S. and Carrie (Banister) Hague.
A resident of Stanton County since 1952, she was a homemaker and a member of the Jolly Dozen Club.
On July 13, 1926, she married Herbert Campbell. He died in 1966. She married Louis Hudgens on Nov. 15, 1974. He died in 1994. She was also preceded in death by a son, Herbert Campbell Jr.; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Irma Hague and Mabel Long.
She is survived by three sons, Richard Campbell, Johnson City, Howard Campbell, Manter, and James Campbell, Booker, Texas; two stepsons, Kenneth Hudgens, Johnson City, and William Lee Hudgens, Williamsberg, N.M.; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Fields Memorial Wesleyan Church, Johnson City, with the Rev. Dave Kaufmann officiating. Burial will follow in Stanton County Cemetery, Johnson City.

Irene M. Dianda Ruiz
Vigil service for Irene M. Dianda Ruiz, 35, will be 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Garden City. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. James E. Baker officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
Mrs. Ruiz died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at her home in Garden City.
She was born June 28, 1965, at Garden City, the daughter of Bill and Maria (Polomarez) Dianda. She attended Garden City schools.
A lifetime Garden City resident, Mrs. Ruiz was a homemaker and belonged to St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching television, shopping and listening to music.
On April 13, 1991, she married Cesar Ruiz at Garden City. He survives. She is also survived by a son, Mario Ruiz, and two daughters, Kayla Dianda and Alicia Dianda, all of the home; her father, Aguilar, Colo.; and three sisters, Kady Medina, Margaret Dianda and Diane Wagner, all of Garden City. She was preceded in death by her mother; an infant daughter, Maria Mercedes Dianda; two brothers, Stanley Dianda and Robert Dianda; and a sister, Ilene Dianda.
Visitation hours are until 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Memorials are suggested to St. Catherine Dialysis Center, in care of the funeral home.
R.F. Lee
SUBLETTE - Military graveside service for R.F. Lee, 81, of Sublette, will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Haskell County Cemetery, Sublette, with the Rev. Mary Al Titus officiating. Rites will be conducted by Sublette American Legion Post No. 205. After the service, the family suggests that friends meet at the American Legion Building to have fellowship with the family.
Mr. Lee died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at Springfield, Colo.
He was born Feb. 10, 1919, at Tishimingo, Okla., the son of Roy Frank and Mary (Love) Lee. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1949 with a degree in pharmacy. Serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Sea Bee, he was part of the third wave in the invasion and landing at Iwo Jima.
On Feb. 6, 1941, he married Lorene (Shorn) Colclasure at South Fulton, Tenn. The family moved from Hooker, Okla., to Sublette in the early 1950s, where he and his wife owned and operated Sublette Drug for 40 years.
A leader in the community, Mr. Lee was a member of Sublette American Legion Post No. 205, belonged to state and national pharmacy associations and many civic boards and councils. He was a fan of OU football and enjoyed reading, gardening, singing, fishing for channel cat, and playing with his dogs.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Doral "Skip" Mancini, Haskell County; and two sisters, Ruby Allen, Moore, Okla., and Arzean Fiedler, Colby. He was preceded in death by a son, Ward Lee, in 1955.

James Maynard Woodson
COPELAND - James Maynard Woodson, 92, formerly of Copeland, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at Manor of the Plains in Dodge City, where he had been a resident the past year.
He was born Dec. 15, 1907, at Kingman, the son of James Mathew and Mayme Suella (Ogle) Woodson. After graduating from Kingman High School, he began farming south of Copeland in 1928.
On March 21, 1932, he married Lula May Craver at Dodge City. They spent their winters in Rockport, Texas, until moving to Dodge City in 1995.
Mr. Woodson was a member of the United Methodist Church of Copeland and the Flying Farmers. He enjoyed flying and hunting, and in later years, his hobbies were golfing and fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jacqualine Dunham, Plains; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn Louise Woodson; and nine brothers and sisters, Nellie Woodson, Winnie (Reynolds) Goenner, Hazel Crumley, Ralph Woodson, Vera Woodson, Dudley Woodson, Frank Woodson, Jane Turner and Lawrence Woodson.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Copeland, with the Revs. Warren Cico and Dick Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Copeland Cemetery.
