George "Ralph" Rider
ULYSSES - Vigil service for George "Ralph" Rider, 84, will be 7 tonight at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ulysses, with the Rev. Louis Hoang officiating. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Shockey Cemetery, Ulysses.
Mr. Rider died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses.
He was born Feb. 18, 1916, in Grant County, the son of George R. and Ada (Smethers) Rider.
A lifetime resident of Ulysses, he was a farmer and rancher. He belonged to Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church and served in the 83rd Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during World War II.
On April 3, 1948, he married Alice Marie Doerr at Evansville, Ind. She survives. He is also survived by a son, David Rider, Ulysses; three daughters, Kathy Goff, Janet Curl and Mari Honstead, all of Ulysses; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dove Rexroat, Lakin, and Thelma Frazee, Ulysses. He was preceded in death by two brothers; an infant brother, C.D. Rider; and two sisters, Flossie Andes and Ruby Mosher.
Visitation hours are until 6 tonight at Garnand Funeral Home, Ulysses. Memorials are suggested to Western Prairie Care Home or the church, both in care of the funeral home, 405 W. Grant St., Ulysses, KS 67880.
Beatrice N. "Bea" Triboulet
ULYSSES - Graveside service for Beatrice N. "Bea" Triboulet, 92, of Ulysses, was to be 11 this morning in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City, with the Rev. Dana Woods officiating.
Mrs. Triboulet died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses.
She was born May 31, 1908, in Green County, Ky., the daughter of James Joseph and Adah Nora (Gorin) Tucker.
A former resident of Plains and Cimarron, she managed many restaurants and had been a fraternity house mother at the University of California-Davis. She was a member of the Christian Church of Minneola, and enjoyed cooking and sewing.
In 1931, she married Roy J. DuPree at Dodge City. He preceded her in death. She married Carl Triboulet on Feb. 3, 1968, at Roseville, Calif. He also preceded her in death as did two sons, Roy and Larry; two brothers, Frank Tucker and Walter Tucker; and six sisters, Grace Unger, Catherine Shelton, Pauline Pittman, Lucille Gish, Rachel Toward and Jessie Roberts.
She is survived by a son, Harold DuPree, Ulysses; a daughter, Marlene Brown, Plains; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Leah Jantz
MONTEZUMA - Leah Jantz, 82, of Montezuma, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at Western Plains Regional Hospital in Dodge City.
She was born Dec. 19, 1917, at Montezuma, the daughter of Cornelius and Effie (Schmidt) Unruh. A homemaker, she had worked for a canteen vending company as a food servicer and was a member of Church of God in Christ Mennonite.
On Aug. 19, 1935, she married Ervin L. Jantz at Sublette. They lived in Wichita from 1951 until returning to Montezuma in 1983. He survives. She is also survived by a son, Richard Allen Jantz, Phoenix; a daughter, Maxine Odell, Lake Of Ozarks, Mo.; a brother, Bill Unruh, Wichita; three sisters, Carrie Dirks, Ella Dirks and Della Schmidt, all of Montezuma; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson; two brothers, Sam Unruh and Elmer Unruh; and four sisters, Ida Giesbrecht, Julia Redger, Susie Unruh and Mary Koehn.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Montezuma. Charles Schmidt and Edwin Classen, ministers, will officiate. Burial will be in North Mennonite Church Cemetery, Montezuma.

Raymond Lee "Bud" Rouse
SYRACUSE - Funeral for Raymond Lee "Bud" Rouse, 76, will be 2 p.m. MST Tuesday at Southern Baptist Church, Syracuse, preceded by a family flower card reading at 1 p.m. MST at the church. Burial will follow in Syracuse Cemetery.
Mr. Rouse died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Hamilton County Hospital in Syracuse.
He was born Oct. 21, 1924, at Benkelman, Neb., the son of Vernon R. and Valeria (Wehrman) Rouse. He attended school in Leoti, graduating from Leoti High School.
On July 4, 1950, he married Wanda Lee Mitchell. They moved to Syracuse in April 1992, having previously lived in Leoti for 40 years, as well as Lyons and Eads, Colo.
Mr. Rouse was a manager for Foster Lumber Co., in Leoti, Lyons and Eads, for more than 30 years. He worked in the maintenance department at Wichita County High School from 1971 to 1975 and at Wichita County Hospital from 1976 until retiring in 1986.
He served as a volunteer fireman and emergency medical technician for the Leoti-Wichita County EMT Fire Department for 26 years, was a member of First Baptist Church of Leoti, belonged to the Rotary Club, and served in the U.S. Marines. He enjoyed his children, playing canasta, hunting and refinishing furniture.
Since April 1996, Mr. Rouse had resided at the Hamilton County Extended Care Facility.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Douglas Rouse, Eads; two daughters, Phyllis Clark, Phoenix, and Conda Simon, Syracuse; three brothers, Don Rouse, Olathe, Marvin Rouse, Wichita, and Eugene Rouse, Houston; a sister, Marilyn Taft, Denver; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Wilson.
Visitation hours are until 8 MST tonight and from 9 to 11 a.m. MST Tuesday at Greene-Fellers Funeral Home, Syracuse. Judy C. Evans
DIGHTON - Funeral for Judy C. Evans, 60, was to be 2 p.m. today at First Christian Church, Plains, with the Rev. Jim Dunn officiating. Burial was to follow in Plains Cemetery.
Mrs. Evans died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at her home in Plains.
Born at Dighton on Jan. 23, 1940, she was the daughter of Joseph Earl and Jennie (Torson) McGowan. She graduated from Dighton High School in 1958 and from Emporia State University in 1962.
Mrs. Evans had been a resident of Plains since 1980. A homemaker, she was a retired teacher, librarian and secretary.
On May 31, 1962, she married Kay R. Evans at Dighton. He survives. She is also survived by a son, Glenn Evans, Phoenix; a brother, Jay McGowan, Topeka; and a sister, June Wick, Dighton. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack McGowan; and a sister, Pat Shull.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Ronald McDonald House of Amarillo, Texas, in care of Fidler-Orme Mortuary, Box F, Meade, KS 67864.
Dollie Edith Perkins
HUGOTON - Funeral for Dollie Edith Perkins, 85, was to be 2 p.m. today at Bethel Friends Church, Hugoton. Kevin Lee and Dave Mason, ministers, were to officiate. Burial was to follow in Hugoton Cemetery.
Miss Perkins died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton.
She was born June 15, 1915, at Cuates, N.M., the daughter of Henry and Iva (Speaks) Perkins. When she was 12, the family moved to Hugoton. At the age of 15, she made her home with her sister and brother-in-law, Myrtle and Harley Quimby, in Hugoton.
Miss Perkins had worked for more than 20 years in the dietary department at Pioneer Manor Home in Hugoton and then served as a volunteer there after her retirement. She was a member of Bethel Friends Church and Rebekah Lodge No. 379, both at Hugoton, and enjoyed her family, church activities, helping others, cooking, gardening and raising flowers.
She is survived by a brother, Earl Perkins, Prosser, Wash.; a sister, Dorthy McLain, Hermiston, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters including Myrtle Quimby and Harley Quimby of Hugoton; two nephews; and one great-great-nephew.

Jimmie Zubeck
Jimmie Zubeck, 87, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, in Garden City.
He was born July 8, 1913, at a farmstead in Finney County, the son of Czechoslovakian immigrants Joe and Josephine Zubeck.
Mr. Zubeck had been a Deerfield resident until moving to Garden City when he was 84. A lifelong farmer at heart with a great love for the land, he was a wheat, corn, maize and beet farmer for more than 50 years, and was also a Lynx corn seed dealer.
He was a great sports enthusiast, both participating and observing, and especially enjoyed bowling, playing pool and watching high school basketball games. He also enjoyed reading, playing bridge, cooking, gardening and helping those in need.
Mr. Zubeck also enjoyed traveling, having visited 48 states throughout his lifetime. He also made two trips to Honduras to visit his son and daughter-in-law in their missionary work, traveled to Utah and took a cruise to the Bahamas. He enjoyed spending time with his family and meeting new people.
On Nov. 25, 1939, he married Dena Martin at Cimarron. She died Nov. 9, 1982. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters and one great-granddaughter.
He is survived by three children, Ginger, Glenda and Jim; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Zubeck.
A private burial will be followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Garden City.
A scholarship fund has been established in Mr. Zubeck's name at Garden City Community College to be awarded to a Deerfield High School graduate.
