Scott Lee Wise
FOWLER -- Scott Lee Wise, 36, died Thursday, June 22, 2000, from injuries from a motor vehicle accident north of Plains.
He was born Nov. 25, 1963, at Kingman, the son of Dean Lee and Rosemarie Kay (Shellhorn) Wise. A Fowler resident since 1989, he was the owner and insurance agent of American Republic Insurance of Fowler.
He belonged to the First Christian Church and the Kiwanis Club, both of Fowler. He was secretary for the Kiwanis Club. He graduated from Cheney High School in 1982 and Dodge City Community College in 1984.
On July 22, 1989, he married Debra Kay Howell at Tribune. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Jarrett Lee Wise of Fowler; one daughter, Everly Kay Wise of Fowler; his parents, of Cheney; and two sisters, Michelle Cronkleton and Dawn Northcutt of Wichita.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First Christian Church, Fowler, the Revs. Billy Ed Rammage and Alan Snyder presiding. Burial will be in Fowler Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary, Meade. Memorials are suggested to the Fowler Christian Church or to the Scott L. Wise Children Education Fund in care of the mortuary.

Sarah Marguerite Schuessler
Funeral for Sarah Marguerite Schuessler, 91, of Sedgwick, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Bible Baptist Church, Valley Center, with the Rev. Albert Schuessler officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel, Wichita.
Mrs. Schuessler, a homemaker, died Friday, June 23, 2000, at her home in Sedgwick.
She was born May 7, 1909, in rural Sedgwick County, the daughter of William Harris and Minnie Rosella (Rich) Kirkpatrick.
On March 25, 1928, she married Lawrence George Schuessler Sr. He preceded her in death as did a son, Lawrence George Schuessler Jr.; two brothers, Henry Kirkpatrick and Earl Kirkpatrick; and two sisters, Edna Collier and Anna Lee Kirkpatrick.
She is survived by a son, Warren E. Schuessler, Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Marjorie A. Bryan, Niceville, Fla., and Sue A. Norwood, Garden City; two sisters, Ruth Porter, Wichita, and Agnes Elliott, Arlington, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Ralph Austin Greathouse
Ralph Austin Greathouse, 79, died Friday, June 23, 2000, at St. Catherine Hospital.
He was born Sept. 30, 1920, in Garden City, the son of Ralph G. and Fern Collins Greathouse. A lifetime Garden City resident, he was a farmer and stockman.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Garden City, and also belonged to Garden City Elks Lodge No.1404, the Southwest Royalty Owners Association, the American Angus Association, and the Kansas Wheat Growers Association. He was also a past board member of the Garden City Co-op Association.
He married Pearl L. Dufield Aug. 2, 1942, at Garden City. She survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Lee Greathouse of Garden City, Gary Greathouse of Fort Collins, Colo., Dr. John Greathouse of Hays and David Greathouse of Garden City; one daughter, Rebecca Middleton of Eureka Springs, Ark.; one brother, Ron Greathouse of Lees Summit, Mo.; four sisters, Pauline Joyce of Garden City, Fern Greathouse of Garden City, Evelyn Phillips of Prairie Village and Beth Tedrow of Garden City; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
One granddaughter preceded him in death.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, the Rev. Janet Hernandez officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.
Calling times are from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Garden City. Memorials may be given to the K.E.T.C.H. program in care of the funeral home.
Glenn LeRoy Ferretti
LAMAR -- Glenn LeRoy Ferretti, 48, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at his home.
He was born May 28, 1952, in Johnson City.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda, of Lamar; his children, Cherilynn, James and Angela; his step son, Jason; his three grandchildren; his mother, Gwen Barrett, of Johnson; his sister, Cindy Losey of Johnson; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Peacock Funeral Home's Family Chapel. Burial will be in Fort Lyon National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association directly or through the funeral home.
Harold Howard Barker
Harold Howard Barker, 88, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000 at St. Catherine Hospital.
He was born March 18, 1912, at Raymond, the son of George H. and Bertha M. (Bryant) Barker. He moved to Garden City from Hutchinson in 1936 and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. In May of 1947 he married Patricia A. Lundblade at Cimarron. She survives.
Mr. Barker was the owner and operator of Welder's Supply Company and later retired with Western Alfalfa.
He belonged to the VFW and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, both of Garden City.
Survivors include four sons, Gary and Dean Barker of Garden City, Terry Barker of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Keith Allen Barker of Blue Springs, Mo.; five daughters, Ginger Toben of McPherson, Sandy Smith of Scott City, Dorothy Huff of Garden City, Wanda Jones of Alton, Ill. and Brenda Barker of Fort Collins, Colo.; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Valley View Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Garden City Area Veterans Honor Guard. The Rev. Randy Caddell will officiate.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Garden City. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
James Tanner Pennington
ULYSSES -- Memorial service for James Tanner Pennington, 15, of Fort Morgan, Colo., will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fort Morgan.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at The Church of Latter Day Saints in Ulysses, with Branch President Larry Egley officiating. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
James died Sunday, June 25, 2000, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Greeley County, which also claimed the life of his sister, Amanda.
Born March 11, 1985, at Garden City, he was the son of James and Cindy (Dew) Pennington.
A former resident of Ulysses and Topeka, he was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he was active in seminary and youth activities.
James had completed his Eagle Scout project, lettered in football at Fort Morgan High School as a freshman, and had been re-elected to serve on the student council for a second year. He loved snowboarding, backpacking, basketball and football, and was looking forward to the two-day practices beginning in August.
He is survived by his parents, a brother, Spencer Pennington, two sisters, Lindsay Pennington and Natalie Pennington, all of Fort Morgan; his grandparents, Charles and JoAnn Dew, Ulysses, Beatrice Pennington, Portsmouth, Ohio, and James Pennington, Wheelersburg, Ohio; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Amanda JoAnn Pennington
ULYSSES -- Memorial service for Amanda JoAnn Pennington, 11, of Fort Morgan, Colo., will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fort Morgan.
