Sarah Ruth Roberson
Funeral for Sarah Ruth Roberson, 82, of Garden City, will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with the Rev. Jerry Leever officiating. Burial will be in Larned Cemetery, Larned.
Mrs. Roberson died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.
She was born April 16, 1917, in Pawnee County, the daughter of John George and Alice M. (Sawyer) Mohr.
A lifetime resident of Pawnee County, she was a homemaker, belonged to First Baptist Church of Larned and volunteered with Emmaus House of Garden City.
On Feb. 23, 1937, she married Richard W. Fagen at Larned. He died June 25, 1949. On June 13, 1956, she married Edmond Kerr Roberson at Alva, Okla. He died April 19, 1972.
She is survived by a son, Wallace Fagen, Great Bend; four stepsons, Clifford Lee Fagen and Norman Roberson, Larned, Eldon Roberson, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Bob Roberson, Claremore, Okla.; three daughters, Wilma Marvin, Versailles, Mo., Connie Gross, Garden City, and Donna Roberson, Russell; two stepdaughters, Jane Bird, Garfield, and Lois Coleman, Chickasha, Okla.; a brother, Charley F., Hutchinson; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation hours are until 8 tonight and until service time Friday at the mortuary. Memorials are suggested to Emmaus House of Garden City, in care of the mortuary, P.O. Box 477, Larned, KS 67550.
Sarah 'Olive' Fenton
Sarah "Olive" Fenton, 92, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at her home in Holcomb.
She was born Jan. 12, 1908, in Finney County, the daughter of Absolem Craig and Mary Margaret (Zigler) Foreman.
A lifetime resident of Finney County, she was a homemaker and had worked for many years at the Bess Hartman Restaurant in Holcomb. She was a member of the Protestant faith and belonged to the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Garden City.
On Nov. 6, 1929, she married Richard Lee Fenton at Garden City. He died May 3, 1975, at Holcomb. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Marvin Lee Fenton and Arnold Fenton, both of Holcomb; two daughters, Dolores Miller, Holcomb, and Wilma Solze, Garden City; two brothers, Elmer "Mac" Foreman and Walter Absolem Foreman, both of Garden City; a sister, Maude Hawkins, Junction City, Ore.; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Garden Valley Retirement Village Chapel, Garden City, with the Rev. Richmond Graham officiating.
There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Golden Belt Home Health & Hospice or Garden Valley Retirement Village, both in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St.
Joseph V. 'J.V.' Kuttler Jr.
TRIBUNE -- Joseph V. "J.V." Kuttler Jr., 77, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Greeley County Hospital in Tribune.
He was born Aug. 24, 1922, at Lima, Mont., the son of Joseph V. and Verna L. (Ridlen) Kuttler Sr.
A Greeley County resident since 1965, he was a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force. He was a farmer/stockman and had served on the Tribune City Council.
Mr. Kuttler was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion and VFW, all at Tribune; Anthem Masonic Lodge at Scott City; Isis Temple, Scottish Rite at Salina; Order of Eastern Star at Garden City; and the N/W Shrine Club at Goodland.
He also belonged to the Air Force Association at Arlington, Va.; the Retired Officers Association at Alexandria, Va.; and the Catapiller Club of the U.S. Air Force.
In January 1947, he married Imogene Clark at Tribune. She died Dec. 13, 1978. He was also preceded in death by a daughter.
On July 21, 1981, he married Eleanor Dexter at Scott City. She survives. He is also survived by three sons, Warren M., Tribune, Joseph C. and David L., both of Wichita; two stepsons, Kris Dexter and Kraig Dexter, both of Garden City; a brother, Dr. Ross Kuttler, Tribune; and 11 grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. MST Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Tribune, with the Rev. Keith Fink officiating.
There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Greeley County Hospital, in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, Tribune.
Alberta Meyers
ULYSSES -- Graveside service for Alberta Meyers, 87, of Ulysses, will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.
Miss Meyers died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.
She was born Feb. 9, 1913, at Hendley, Neb., the daughter of William Aaron and Liva Lee (Batchelor) Meyers.
A resident of Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses since 1979, she had previously resided at Hutchinson.
She is survived by a brother, Harry A. Meyers, Norton; a sister, Ennis E. Smith, Hutchinson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, William A. Meyers Jr.; and three sisters, Ethel Gilbert, Elva McLeland and Edith W. Meyers.
Visitation hours are until 5 tonight at Garnand Funeral Home, Ulysses. Memorials are suggested to Western Prairie Care Home, in care of the funeral home, 405 W. Grant St., Ulysses, KS 67880.
Judith Kay (Scott) Harrison
Funeral for Judith Kay "Judy" (Scott) Harrison, 58, a former Garden City resident, will be 7 tonight at Smith Funeral Home, Pardeeville, Wis.
Mrs. Harrison, of Pardeeville, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
She was born May 24, 1941, at Laredo, Texas, the daughter of Gerald and Vurva (Huckstadt) Scott.
An active member of the community, she had served on the Pardeeville School Board, was a waitress at Trail's Lounge, taught reupholstering at the college in Portage, Wis., and was employed as a child mediator at the Columbia County Court House at the time of her death.
She is survived by her son, Graham Harrison, Lenoir City, Tenn.; her daughter, Shana Harrison, Eden Prairie, Minn.; a grandson; a granddaughter; her mother, a longtime resident of Garden City, now living at the Shepherd's Center in Cimarron; her former husband, Ted Harrison, Eden Prairie; and two brothers, Wayne Scott, Garden City, and Robert Sutton, Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by an infant sister and her father.

Nolan Petty
Nolan Petty, 78, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at his home in Garden City.
He was born April 25, 1921, at Cimarron, the son of John William and Thelma (Naylor) Petty. He attended schools in Cimarron and then served for a short time in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II.
Mr. Petty moved to Lebo in 1947 and to Garden City in 1975, where he worked as a welder at Palmer Manufacturing for more than 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, cooking and canning.
He is survived by a brother, Roy Petty, Santa Fe, N.M.; two sisters, Mary Downtain, Garden City, and Fern Rogers, Denver; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, with the Rev. Janet Hernandez officiating.
There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Golden Belt Hospice, in care of Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City.
