Hubert 'Coy' Rose
SCOTT CITY -- Hubert "Coy" Rose, 92, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at Scott County Hospital in Scott City.
He was born June 6, 1907, in Wayne County, Iowa, the son of Merton B. and Emma Ardilla (Zimmerman) Rose.
Mr. Rose moved from Corydon, Iowa, to Hand County, S.D., and then to Scott County in 1922, where he settled in the Pence community. A retired farmer and rancher, he belonged to First Christian Church of Scott City.
On March 14, 1928, he married Neva Quance at Scott City. She died Aug. 29, 1976, at Oakley. On Jan. 1, 1977, he married Merna Landis at Oakley. On May 5, 1978, he married Esther Unruh at Colorado Springs, Colo. She died July 25, 1989. He and Jean Appl were married April 8, 1990, at Garden City. She died Nov. 11, 1998. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Burton Jr.; two sisters; two brothers; and a great-granddaughter.
He is survived by two sons, Delbert Rose and Arlen Rose, both of Russell Springs; three grandsons; three granddaughters; a brother, Edgar Rose, Scott City; a sister, Martha McKean, Cheyenne Wells, Colo.; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, Scott City, with the Rev. John Warring officiating. Burial will be in Scott County Cemetery, Scott City.
Visitation hours are until 9 tonight, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Scott City. Memorials are suggested to the Scott County VIP Center, in care of the funeral home.
Jaunonia E. Mulville
DIGHTON -- Funeral for Jaunonia E. Mulville, 82, was to be 2 p.m. today at the United Methodist Church, Dighton, with the Rev. Tod Anthony officiating. Burial was to follow in Dighton Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Mulville died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at the Lane County Long Term Care Unit in Dighton.
She was born July 5, 1917, at Garden City, the daughter of Thomas Webster and Viola Jane (Mickel) Follis. She graduated from Dighton High School in 1936.
A lifetime Lane County resident, Mrs. Mulville worked as an operator at the phone company, and then was employed as a dispatcher and later as the first woman supervisor at the Kansas State Highway Department.
After she and Harold E. Mulville were married on May 19, 1958, at Dighton, they lived on the family farm in southwest Lane County. He died Feb. 8, 1997. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Follis.
Mrs. Mulville was a member of the United Methodist Church of Dighton and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling and knitting.
She is survived by a son, Tom Mulville, Dighton; a daughter, Pamela Ann Watson, Merriam; and five grandchildren.

A.R. Chilson
TRIBUNE -- A.R. Chilson, 87, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at Greeley County Hospital in Tribune.
He was born Nov. 26, 1912, at Webster City, Iowa, the son of James and Pearl (Young) Chilson. An electrician, he was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by three sons, Anthony, Billy Joe and Raymond, and two daughters, Tonee Henderson and Christian Jay, all of Tennessee; 21 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Private services and burial were in Greeley County Cemetery, Tribune.
Price & Sons Funeral Home, Tribune, was in charge of arrangements.
Marion L. Allen
Marion L. Allen, 74, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.
He was born Dec. 16, 1925, at Rocky Ford, Colo., the son of Pearl and Rose Lee (Daniels) Allen. A Garden City resident since 1956, Mr. Allen had been a farm laborer, a tree trimmer and was in the hay hauling business.
He is survived by his wife, Frances (Balandran) Allen, whom he married in 1946 in Oklahoma; two sons, Robert Allen and Thomas E. Allen, both of Garden City; and three daughters, Judy Stroud and Christine Allen, both of Garden City, and Gloria Rhodig, Wichita. He was preceded in death by two sons, Fredrick Allen and Marion F. Allen; eight brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel, Garden City, with the Rev. Richmond Graham officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
Visitation hours are until 8 tonight and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials to the Marion L. Allen Memorial Fund may be sent in care of the funeral home.
Ada Nilson
SUBLETTE -- Funeral for Ada Nilson, 93, of Sublette, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Sublette, with the Revs. Mary Al Titus and Charles Waugh officiating. Burial will be in Haskell County Cemetery, Sublette.
Mrs. Nilson died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Bethel Home Inc., Montezuma, where she had been a resident since 1997.
She was born March 3, 1906, in Scotland County, Mo., the daughter of Joseph and Julie Ann Dalton. When she was 2, the family moved to Ashland.
On Aug. 2, 1924, she married William I. McGonigal. He died June 12, 1930. She married Jacob Specht on Oct. 25, 1931. In 1962, she married Dean Nilson. He died in 1967. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Belle Trahern; two brothers, Charles Dalton and Joe Dalton; four sisters, Clara Murphy, Annis Potter, Mattie McGonigal and Veda Palmer; and a grandson.
A homemaker, Mrs. Nilson was a member of the United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and the Social Neighbors Club, all at Sublette.
She is survived by a daughter, Ella Mae Ocker, Copeland; four granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a brother, Frank Dalton, Clovis, N.M.; and two sisters, Edna Shiflet, Golden, Colo., and Velma Peterson, Texas.

Irene Flanagan
Funeral for Irene Flanagan, 87, of Whitewater, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bunch-Roberts Chapel, Guymon, Okla. Her grandson, the Rev. Kendall Holder, will officiate. Burial will follow in Texhoma (Texas) Cemetery.
Mrs. Flanagan died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Wheat State Manor in Whitewater.
She was born June 25, 1912, at Richland Center, Wis., the daughter of Archie and Ella Fry, and was the ninth of 12 children.
On Aug. 26, 1930, she married Loren S. Flanagan in Wisconsin. They moved to the Oklahoma Panhandle, where they made their home for more than 40 years. Her husband died Oct. 25, 1973. She was also preceded in death by nine brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Flanagan was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Guymon. While living in Oklahoma, she was a homemaker and had been a member of a Home Demonstration Unit and the area Quilting Club. In addition to quilting, she enjoyed painting (both oil and textile), working with ceramics, and doing various types of stitchery. She also enjoyed cooking and canning from the gardens she tended.
She is survived by three daughters, Lilas Holder, Salina, Iretha Flaming, El Dorado, and Elaine Thompson, Garden City; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
