Harold J. Lundgren
Harold J. Lundgren, 90, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at his home in Gove.
He was born April 19, 1909, in Gove County, the son of Edward J. and Huldah C. (Lewis) Lundgren. He attended Gove County schools.
On June 12, 1935, he married Vera Jennison at her parent's home in rural Healy. She survives.
A farmer and stockman, Mr. Lundgren was a member of Modern Woodmen of America, the Senior Citizen Center in Gove, Gove United Methodist Church and the Kansas State Historical Society. He was a clerk and an ASCS Board member for Jerome Township, a 40-year member of the Kansas Livestock Association, and a board member of Gove County Co-op.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Larry J. Lundgren and Darrel J. Lundgren, both of Gove; a daughter, Sheila G. Beougher, Gove; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Lundgren and Ralph L. Lundgren; an infant brother, Richard Lundgren; and a sister, Angeline Williamson Rose.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Gove United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Paul Woodall officiating. Burial will be in Gove Cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter. Memorials are suggested to Gove United Methodist Church or Gove Senior Center, both in care of the funeral home.
Dolores D. Gee
ULYSSES -- Dolores D. Gee, 83, of Ulysses, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
She was born Jan. 8, 1917, at Zenda, the daughter of Jessie J. and Amy L. (Lattimore) Ford. She was a 1937 graduate of Grant County Rural High School, Ulysses.
Mrs. Gee had lived in Oregon and in Englewood, Colo., before returning to Ulysses in 1959. She was employed as a bookkeeper for the Grant County Court House, Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, Ansel Manufacturing and Kansas Irrigation, all at Ulysses, and was a member of the Business Professional Women of Ulysses.
On Sept. 16, 1946, she married James L. "Jim" Gee at Ulysses. He died July 20, 1991. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Winger and Shirley Medlin.
She is survived by a son, Les Gee, Ulysses; a daughter, Roberta Courter, Omaha, Neb.; two brothers, Melvin Ford and Zeltus Ford, both of Ulysses; a sister, Naomi Heffelmire, Denver; and three grandchildren.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Church of Christ, Ulysses, with Warren Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Garnand Funeral Home, Ulysses. Memorials are suggested to the Grant County Scholarship Fund or Church of Christ, both in care of the funeral home, 405 W. Grant St., Ulysses KS 67880.
Paul A. Wolf
HUGOTON -- Paul A. Wolf, 79, of Hugoton, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton.
He was born Jan. 8, 1921, at Little River, the son of Frank Albert and Lillie (Arnold) Wolf. He attended high school in Lyons and had a bachelor's degree in business.
A Hugoton resident since 1952, he previously lived in Lawrence and in rural Rice County. A lawyer for 48 years, he was affiliated with Brollier, Wolf and Schroeder, and then with Brollier, Wolf and Smith. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, attaining the rank of captain.
Mr. Wolf was a member of the United Methodist Church, Southwest Kansas Bar Association, Chamber of Commerce and the Lions Club, was a past state representative and member of the Legislative Council, was a caucus leader, a former county attorney, director of Southwest Savings & Loan, and served on the library and hospital boards.
On July 22, 1951, he married Marion Lorraine Greenlee at Scott City. She survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Lt. Col. Franklin Wolf, Stafford, Va., and Douglas P. Wolf, Hobbs, N.M.; a daughter, Carol Moore, Los Alamos, N.M.; a sister, Ruth Burkey, Springfield, Mo.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.
Military graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hugoton Cemetery, with the Rev. Nel Holmes officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church or Stevens County Home Health Care, both in care of Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton.
Martha J. Markel
MONTEZUMA -- Funeral for Martha J. Markel, 83, was to be 2 p.m. today at the United Methodist Church, Montezuma, with the Rev. Wayne Sharp officiating. Burial was to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Montezuma.
Mrs. Markel died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at Manor of the Plains, Dodge City, where she had been a resident since Jan. 5.
She was born Feb. 1, 1916, on a farm south of Ingalls, the daughter of John Marion and Harriet Maria (Posey) Henderson. She attended school in Ingalls, graduated from high school in Garden City and graduated from Garden City Junior College.
She moved from Garden City to Montezuma in 1938 and taught school at Montezuma Grade School before marrying Walter Ray Markel on March 9, 1940, at Liberal. He died Jan. 6, 1992. She was also preceded in death by a grandson; four brothers, Kenneth Henderson, Erwin Henderson, Lester Henderson and Louis Henderson; and four sisters, Marietta Glaze, Cleo Mitchell, Florence Algrim and Ruth Algrim.
Mrs. Markel was a member of the United Methodist Church, served on the church board, was president of United Methodist Women and taught Sunday School. A homemaker, she enjoyed her family and friends, cooking, baking and sewing, and she loved roses and crocheting afghans.
She is survived by three sons, Charles Markel, Dodge City, Lynn Markel, Wichita, and Wayne Markel, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Joyce Haivala, Wichita; a brother, John Elroy Henderson, Lakin; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Jerry L. Kinnamon
MONTEZUMA -- Funeral for Jerry L. Kinnamon, 48, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Mennonite Church, Montezuma. Val Krehbiel, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Montezuma.
Mr. Kinnamon died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City, after a sudden illness.
He was born Dec. 24, 1951, at Dodge City, the son of Glen and Josephine (Thummel) Kinnamon.
A lifetime resident of the area, he was a service technician at Schmidt Sales Inc., Montezuma, and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing at Eagle Nest, N.M., and also enjoyed playing Nintendo 64.
On Feb. 14, 1991, he married Sandy Sinclair at Cimarron. She survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Mason Kinnamon and Scott Sinclair, both of Montezuma; two daughters, Stephanie Sinclair, Washington, Kan., and Melinda Sinclair, Dodge City; a brother, Stan Kinnamon, Montezuma; a sister, Mary Enyart, Wichita; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Carol Figger.

George P. Deslongchamp
Vigil service for George P. Deslongchamp, 86, will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Garden City, followed by Knights of Columbus rosary. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. James E. Baker officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
Mr. Deslongchamp died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.
He was born July 9, 1913, at Zurich, Kan., the son of Fabian J. and Aldea (Beaupre) Deslongchamp, and attended schools in Zurich. In 1933 he moved to Denver.
On April 20, 1938, he married Margaret Unrein at Topeka. She survives.
Mr. Deslongchamp served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1946, serving with the petroleum engineers. After the service, he and his wife moved to Garden City. A farmer, he also owned and operated Willy's Jeep dealership from 1946 to 1961. He then owned and operated a J.I. Case dealership for 15 years, retiring in 1976.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus No. 2795, Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo, the Senior Center, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and the American Association of Retired Persons. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, gardening and volunteer work.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, George A. Deslongchamp, Norman, Okla., and Denis J. Deslongchamp, Shippensburg, Pa.; four daughters, Bernadette L. Marick, Crook, Colo., Teresa K. McCandless, Wichita, Jeanne M. Jones, Lewisville, Colo., and Rita M. Deslongchamp, Newton; two sisters, Millie Walker, East Lake, Colo., and Alma Carter, Colorado Springs, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
