RICHARD ROWDEN
HUGOTON -- Richard "Dick" Rowden, 63, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006, at his residence in Lakeview, Ark.
He was born Oct. 3, 1942, to John W. and Ellen (Hoskinson) Rowden in Hugoton.
He married Martha Alley June 11, 1985, in Pueblo, Colo. She survives.
He graduated from Hugoton High School.
He was a retired welder and inspector for Colorado Intrastate Gas Company for 34 years.
Other survivors include, three daughters, Kerry Palmer and husband, Dennis, Carbondale, Ill., Martha Ann Taylor, Pueblo, and Jennifer Krueger, Pueblo; five grandchildren; one brother, Everett Rowden and wife, Ruby, Hugoton; one sister, Bonnie Krisle and husband, Ken, Gillette, Wyo.; many nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Lawerence, Frosty, Leland, Larry and Emery Rowden; and three sisters, Maxine Rowden, Shirley Rowden and Barbara Nichols.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Church of God in Hugoton with Pastor Bill Vincent presiding.
REAGAN L. UNRUH
COPELAND -- Reagan Lynae Unruh, 1 year 5 months, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2006.
She was born July 22, 2004, to Shonovan Ross and Kara Deann (Koehn) Unruh in Amarillo, Texas.
Survivors include her parents; grandparents, Howard and Londa Koehn, Copeland and Larry and Rachel Unruh, Copeland; great-grandparents, Arlin and Florence Yost, Montezuma, Vernon and Ruth Nichols, Gainesville, Ala., Ruby Unruh, Copeland, and Irene Koehn, Montezuma; and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by two great-grandfathers, Louis Unruh and Wilbur Koehn.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Salem Mennonite Church in Copeland with Ministers Sam Unruh Jr. and Steve Unruh presiding.
Burial will follow at the Salem Mennonite Church Cemetery
in Copeland.

RUTH RINEHART POMEROY
Ruth Rinehart Pomeroy, age 90, died Sunday, January 8, 2006, at her home in Liberal, KS.
She was born November 10, 1915, in the Darlow Community in Reno County, Kansas the daughter of Ray and Neta (Coover) Rinehart.
Ruth's family moved to the family farm near Kismet, in Seward County, when she was 2 years and 2 months old. She attended public schools, riding a horse to school, for 2 miles, during her first 8 years. She graduated from Kismet High School in 1933, having participated in athletics and Girl's Club. She attended Southwestern College in Winfield, Ks., for 2 years, where she met and married Dale during his senior year. They moved to Hugoton, KS in 1937, where Dale was a grade school administrator, six children were born to them over the next eighteen years. They moved to Copeland, KS in 1940, where Dale was the high school principal. They moved to Kismet, KS in 1943, where Dale was the high school principal and school administrator.
They moved to Liberal in 1953, she was active in assisting the Boy Scout and Girl Scout organizations. She worked at Southwest Medical Center, before commencing a period of 15 years as receptionist and office manager for Dr. E. D. Rathbun and Associates. She was a member of the Southwest Chapter of Kansas Medical Assistants Society, First United Methodist Church, Liberal Air Museum, Coronado Museum and the Chamber of Commerce. Since her retirement, she worked part time as a receptionist at the Coronado Museum and Dorothy's House for 16 years. She had missed the laughter of children and filled this need giving tours at Dorothy's House to tourist and school children.
On December 16, 1936 she married Dale Pomeroy at Wichita, Kansas. He died December 11, 2003.
Survivors include 2 sons Douglas Pomeroy and wife Polly of Franklin, TN, Brian Pomeroy of Garden City, KS, 2 daughters Raneta Schreiner and husband Rolfe of Santa Cruz, CA, and Renee Pomeroy of Phoenix, AZ, 2 daughters-in-law Irene Senior-Pomeroy of Reno, NV and Daw Pomeroy of Fredericksburg, VA, 12 grandchildren Dr. Brandon Pomeroy, Roxanne Kaspar, Alison Janssen, Marcus Pomeroy, Courtnay Pomeroy, Emilia Boer, Sage Schreiner, Sierra Schreiner, Brandy Hancock, Kenneth Miller, Beau Bucy, Braeden Bucy and 9 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Dale, 2 sons Barry in 1991 and Dennis in 1994, parents and 1 brother Joe Rinehart.
Memorial services will be held 1:30 PM, January 14, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church in Liberal with Rev. Ken Hathaway presiding. Cremation has taken place with a private burial of the cremains in Restlawn Cemetery. Guest register will be available for signing at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.

THELMA THOMAS
Thelma "MaMa Thomas" Thomas, 77, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, at Southwest Medical Center.
She was born July 8, 1928, to Walter Clayton and Opal Viola (Hand) Horn in Wheeler, Texas.
She graduated from Hachita High School in Hachita, N.M.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Alan Thomas, Liberal, and Howard Johnston, Albuquerque, N.M.; one daughter, Janet Sue Bell, Flora Vista, N.M.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Walter Thomas; one son, Jay Lee Johnson; two brothers, Donald Horn and J.W. Horn; and one sister, Norma Viola Horn.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ann Holman presiding.
Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
EVELYN E. GALERNEAU
HUGOTON -- Evelyn E. (Fanoele) Galerneau, 80, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, at Auburn, Calif.
She was born Feb. 19, 1925, to Ross Elmer and Bertha (Wilson) Taylor in Stevens County.
She married Joe Fanoele. He preceded her in death. She then married Harry Galerneau in Las Vegas. He survives.
She owned and operated the Fanoele Dept. Store in Chappell, Neb.
Other survivors include one son, Gary Fanoele and wife, Carol, Blair, Neb.; one daughter, Vicki Hill and husband, John, Galt, Calif.; five grandchildren, Joey Hill, Mary Hill, Michael Fanoele, Katie Fanoele and Angela Gifford; one sister, Leila Pate, Hugoton; and many other friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Everett Taylor and Lynn Taylor; and two sisters, Dorothy Sykes and Phyllis Grewell.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Hugoton Cemetery
with the Rev. Greg Lindenberger presiding.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton.
CHRISTOPHER C. BROWN
ULYSSES -- Christopher Coy "Vance" Brown, 12, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, in Ulysses.
He was born Aug. 12, 1993, to Rayna Dawn and Leslie Don Vance.
He was a member of Boy Scouts, 4-H, Grace Baptist Church and the Ulysses Youth Bowling League.
Survivors include his parents; grandparents, Marvin and Dovie O. Wilson, Freedom, Okla., Max and Connie Wilson, Shattuck, Okla., Dale and Neva Martin, Ulysses; two sisters, Shyla Vance, Freedom, and Ciara Vance, Freedom; one uncle, Brandon C. Brown, Woodward, Okla.; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bertie R. Brown, and one sister, Kitrane Milholland.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Country View Baptist Church in Ulysses with the Rev. Gary Gregory and the Rev. Sam Bynum presiding.
Burial will be at Ulysses Cemetery.
Friends may sign the register from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Tuesday at Grant County Funeral Home in Ulysses.

GALEN V. LANE
Johnson -- Galen Vernon Lane, 78, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at Stanton County Long Term Care in Johnson.
He was born Oct. 6, 1927, to Leslie Orval "Spec" and Minta Maree (Rorick) Lane in Finney County.
He married Iris Elizabeth Edmisson May 20, 1946, in Garden City. She died Nov. 16, 2004.
He was a farmer and a rancher.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Johnson and served on numerous committees for the church. He sang in the choir.
He was very active in his community and was a member of various boards and clubs. He served on the Johnson City Council for 48 years. He was a member of the Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a member of the Men's Golf Association, the Airport Board and the Silver-Haired Legislators.
He enjoyed playing golf, playing cards and putting together puzzles. He was an avid supporter of Stanton County sports and his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's activities.
Survivors include two daughters, Wynn Cockrum and husband, Darrell, Johnson, and Penny Tucker, Johnson; six grandchildren, Ashley Fixx, Hugoton, Wade Tucker, Johnson, Dirk Cockrum, Arvada, Colo., Con Cockrum, Lakewood, Colo., Ward Tucker, Madison, Wis., and Jennifer Haaga, Lawrence; and seven great-grandchildren, Lawson Fiss, Taylor Fiss, Jalen Tucker, Jordyn Tucker, Dillon Cockrum, Jackson Cockrum and Morgann Haaga.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Johnson with the Rev. Glenn Fogo presiding.
Burial will follow at Stanton County Cemetery
in Johnson.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home.
