KISMET -- Carole Nosekabel, 69, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at Southwest Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Miller Mortuary.
DALE McDONALD
MONTEZUMA -- Dale McDonald, 74, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.
He was born Feb. 28, 1930, to Clarence Wesley and Opal Maurine (Boyd) McDonald in Stafford County.
He married Joan Friesen July 22, 1951, in Montezuma. She survives.
He was a farmer and salesman for Allis-Chalmers.
He was a member of the Church of the New Jerusalem in Pawnee Rock.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW of Dodge City. He had served on the Montezuma District Hospital Board.
He served his country in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957.
Other survivors include two daughters, Joy Roragen and husband David, Joplin, Mo., and Gay McDonald, Joplin, Mo.; three sisters, Doris Friesen, Montezuma, Vera Kinnamon, Montezuma, and Nadine Tuxhorn and husband Melvin, Dodge City; one brother-in-law, Dale Tuxhorn, Montezuma; and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Glen McDonald, and one sister, Dora Tuxhorn.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Montezuma with the Rev. Eric Zacharais presiding.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery
in Montezuma.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

LOUISE C. JOHNSON
GREAT BEND -- Louise C. Johnson, 87, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Oct. 7, 1917, to John C. and Nova Ray Puteet Commander in Bryan, Okla.
She married Eddie R. Johnson Nov. 23, 1939, in Liberal. He died Dec. 12, 1965.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Hugoton.
She was a member of Rebekah Lodge and Kingdom Light Givers, both of Hugoton.
She enjoyed gardening, canning and quilting.
Survivors include one son, Edwin R. "Ed" Johnson and wife Renee, Great Bend; two grandchildren, Shane Johnson, Boise, Idaho, and Dena Down and husband Ben, Sacramento, Calif.; three great-grandchildren, Alyson, Delaney and Jordan; two brothers, Jay Commander, Palestine, Texas, and Joe Commander, Palestine, Texas; three sisters, Elsie Ralston, Ardmore, Okla., Era Lee Turman, Amarillo, Texas, and Beulah Commander, Terrell, Texas; and one daughter-in-law, Delia Johnson.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Raymon Johnson, two brothers, Glen and Charley Commander, and one sister, Effie Holt.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church at 600 S. Van Buren in Hugoton with the Rev. Jeff Aenk presiding.
Burial will be in Hugoton Cemetery.
Cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
ELINOR F. KAHN
Elinor Franzel Kahn, 89, died Feb. 12, 2005, at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal, Kansas.
Elinor was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Dr. Robert W. Kahn.
She is survived by her son, Dr. David N. Kahn of Denver, Colorado, daughter, Josephine L. Rush of Liberal, Kansas, and grandchildren, Rachel Kahn of Cambridge, England, Jacob Kahn of Fort Collins, Colorado, and T. Erin Rush of Norman, Oklahoma.
Elinor was born Nov. 6, 1915, to Benjamin and Rose Holtzman Franzel in St. Louis, Mo.
She graduated from high school at 15 and received an R.N. degree from Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo., where she worked as a charge nurse until her marriage on Nov. 6, 1945.
The Kahns moved to Oklahoma City, where she managed her husband's medical practice.
After his death in 1991, she moved to Denver and then to Liberal in 2002.
Graveside services were held at 2 P.M. February 14 at Temple B'Nai Israel Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
ROBBIE H. DANNER
HUGOTON -- Robbie Helen Danner, 77, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.

KISMET -- Carole Nosekabel, 69, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at Southwest Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 6, 1935, to Harold and Ester Clapper Omer in Tabor, Iowa.
She married Glen Nosekabel July 31, 1954, in Glenwood, Iowa. He survives.
She graduated from Randolf (Iowa) High School.
She drove a school bus for USD No. 483 for more than 23 years.
She also worked as a part-time postal clerk at the Kismet Post Office for seven years.
She was a member of the Kismet United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include two sons, Seve Nosekabel and wife Dora, Liberal, and Bret Nosekabel and wife Koleen, Kismet; one daughter, Lisa Warden and husband Dennis, Broken Arrow, Okla.; six grandchildren, Julieann and Stevie Jay Nosekabel, Bryan, Christopher and Zachary Warden and Yvette Peters; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Susie Dunmire and husband Ward, Malvern, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Barbara Wyant.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Kismet United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry Mayhew presiding.
Burial will be in the Kismet Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today. The casket will be closed at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Kismet Library in care of the mortuary.
ZACHARY W. PEEBLES
Zachary "Zach" Wyatt Peebles, 19, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, in Calhoun County, Texas.
He was born Dec. 29, 1985 to Stephen and Carol (Nordrum) Peebles in Liberal.
Survivors include his companion, Joni Dial, Bloomington, Texas; his grandparents, Louise Taylor, Harrison, Ark., Joe Brown, Harrison, Ark., and Richard and Anna Peebles, Liberal; his parents; and two brothers, Greg Peebles and Daniel Peebles, both of Harrison, Ark.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Bloomington, Texas.
Burial will be in Crescent Valley Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Grace Funeral Home.
JOSEPHINE WARD
Josephine Ward, 81, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005 at St. Francis Via Chiristi in Wichita.
She was born April 30, 1923 to Edward T. and Letha Moore in Shelby, Miss.
She married Nelson Ward April 4, 1947 in Pickens, Ark. He died Sept. 15, 1993.
She was a cook.
She was a member of New Community Missionary Baptist Church in Liberal.
Survivors include three sons, Dr. Robert Lewis Ward and wife Joyce, Atlanta, Michael Ward and wife Shondi, Wichita, Nelson Ward, Jr. and his wife Joyce, Wichita; seven daughters, Verdie Jean Turner and husband William, Harvey, Ill., Maelean Darrough and husband V. O., Pine Bluff, Ark., Odie May Hunt, Jean Walker and husband Carlton, Leola Tina Clayton, and Shirley Faye Ward, all of Wichita, and Rosemary Richard and husband Clayton, Grand Prairie, Texas; 44 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Percy Williams, Demott, Ark.; and one sister, Jewel Watkins, Omaha, Neb.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and one son, Cleveland Ward.
Funeral will be at noon Monday at First Southern Baptist Church, with the Rev. A. H. Smith Jr. presiding.
Burial will be in Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Mortuary.
