HAZEL A. MARTIN
ULYSSES -- Hazel A. Martin, 102, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses.
She was born Dec. 16, 1902, to Ferdinand and Amanda Jane (Cox) Hildenbrand in Edwards County.
She married Newman Layton Martin March 1, 1921, in Dodge City. He died July 23, 1981.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was a member of the Gladys Gish Circle of Ulysses.
Her hobbies included reading, knitting, crocheting afghans and giving her handmade gifts to her family.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Martin and wife Barbara, Ulysses, and Newman "Bob" Martin and wife Evelyn, Kingwood, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Hazel Joy Hines and Joan Howell, four brothers, Frank, George and Chris Hildenbrand and a younger brother, and four sisters, Lena Rapp, Amy Taylor, Eva Beckwith and Effie Johnston.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses with the Rev. Dennis Livingston presiding.
Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

CLEO M. HAMMOCK
ASHLAND -- Cleo Mitchell Hammock, 77, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, at Pratt Regional Hospital.
He was born July 4, 1927, to James M. and Alice (Bartlet) Hammock in Yale, Okla.
He married Martha Allen Nelson Jan. 21, 1951. She survives.
He attended school in Mannford, Okla.
He retired after working for United Telephone Company for 32 years. He also worked for eight years for the City of Ashland at the light plant.
He was a member of Full Gospel Church.
He was a member of Farm Bureau.
Other survivors include one son, Ray Hammock, Tucson, Ariz.; three daughters, Kathy Camden, Rolla, Mo., Connie Peck, Rolla, Mo., and Carolyn Davis and husband Clifford, Buffalo, Okla.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Vena Reed, Mannford, Okla., and Orpha Berry, Mannford, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Alvin Hammock, Ray Hammock, Farrell Hammock, Claude Hammock, Lester Hammock and Snowden Hammock, and four sisters, Vera Lee Applegate, Flossie Yeager, Bonnie McGuffy and Virginia Bonner.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Ashland with the Rev. Don Hasty and the Rev. Charlin Fred Pinkerton presiding.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Myatt Funeral Home.

RAY A. BOHN
Ray A. Bohn, 80, died Jan. 22, 2005, in Fremont, Neb.
He was born April 4, 1924, to Anton and Rose (Brandtl) Bohn in Omaha, Neb.
He married Juanita "Buddie" Ives July 1, 1943, in Riverside, Calif. She survives.
He graduated from Ashland (Neb.) High School in 1941.
He was an insurance salesman for Busnessmans Assurance Company.
He served in the Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Liberal.
He was a former president of Bee Jays Semi Pro Baseball and the Liberal Chamber of Commerce.
He was a member of the Liberal Jaycees, Kansas State Chamber of Commerce, Southwest Kansas Underwriters and the Elks Lodge of Liberal.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening, playing cards and cooking.
Other survivors include two sons, David Bohn and wife Terry, Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Mark Bohn and wife Terry, Ashland, Neb.; one daughter, Carol Bowles and husband Lynn, Duncan, Okla.; five grandchildren, Kirk Bohn and wife Lisa, Chad Bohn and wife Jennifer, Maggie and Meredith Bohn and Austin Bowles; and two great-grandchildren, Christian and Kaylee Bohn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Congregational Church in Ashland, Neb., with the Rev. Roy Paterik.
A private burial will be in the Ashland, Neb., Cemetery
with military rites by American Legion Post No. 129.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Marcy Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church of Liberal or the Ashland-Greenwood School Foundation in care of Marcy Mortuary of Ashland, Neb.
LILLIAN AKAGI
Lillian Akagi, 73, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at her residence in Ulysses.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Garnand Funeral Home of Ulysses.
LILLIE E. WHITE
HUGOTON -- Lillie Evalina White, 95, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, in Johnson City, Tenn.
She was born Nov. 4, 1909, to James Smith and Mary Ellen (Harlan) Hershey in Tyrone, Okla.
She married Roscoe F. Ricord April 12, 1931. He died Oct. 3, 1932.
She then married Carl White. He died in April of 1995.
She was a school teacher until 1946. She became the register of deeds for Stevens County and served until the late 1970s.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Hugoton.
Survivors include one son, James C. Ricord and wife Deane, North Oden, Utah; one daughter, Leona May Rogers and husband Wiley Kim, Johnson City, Tenn.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Harlan, Jim, Dale, George and Bob, and one sister, Alma Marie.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Hugoton with the Rev. Greg Lindenberger presiding.
Burial will be in the Hugoton Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the funeral home.

REBECCA OCHOA
ULYSSES -- Rebecca Ochoa, 77, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus of Wichita.
She was born Dec. 10, 1927, to Silvestre and Cleofas (Molina) Dominguez in Artesia, N.M.
She married Frank Ochoa Oct. 8, 1946, in Littlefield, Texas. He died in March of 1987.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista of Ulysses.
She enjoyed being with her family.
Survivors include 10 children, Frank Ochoa Jr., Wimauma, Fla., Rudy Ochoa, Odessa, Texas, Richard Ochoa, Jim Ochoa, Eddie Ochoa, Mary Perez, Tony Ochoa and Sandra Westover, all of Ulysses, Louis Ochoa, Bazine, and Rebecca Reyes, Garden City; 48 grandchildren; and 65 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Francis Ochoa, one brother, Daniel Dominguez, and one sister, Lupe Ochoa.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Ulysses with Pastors Manuel P. Perez and Steve Thompson presiding. --
An evening service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home of Ulysses.
Burial will follow at Ulysses Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home of Ulysses.
