GENEVA GLICK
Geneva Glick, 83, died Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She was born May 8, 1921, to Henry and Minnie (Cain) Mangis in Hollis, Okla.
She married Paul Bestow Glick Dec. 2, 1939, in Sayre, Okla. He died July 29, 1991.
She had been a resident of Turpin, Okla., the past six years.
She had worked as a cook at the school for many years.
Survivors include four sons, Bill Glick and wife, Sharin, Turpin, Paul Glick Jr. and wife, Sidney, Amarillo, Texas, Jack Glick and wife, Frankie, Wilcox, Ariz., and Warren Glick and wife, Angie, Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Irene Miller, Gustine, Texas, and Leola Roper, Fritch, Texas; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and one sister.
Funeral services were Jan. 10, 2005, at Westlawn Chapel in Wilcox. Burial was at Sunset Cemetery
in Wilcox.

LAVERN RAY KOEHN
COPELAND -- LaVern Ray Koehn, 61, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at his residence in rural Copeland.
He was born Sept. 24, 1943, to Leslie and Elsie Mae (Unruh) Koehn in Garden City.
He married Lynda Fae Becker May 16, 1965, in Galva. She survives.
He was a farmer.
He was a member of the Church of God in Christ Mennonite in Copeland.
Other survivors include two sons, Greg Koehn and wife Deborah, Copeland, and Nolan Koehn and wife Jessica, Canton; one daughter, Tamara Giesbrecht and husband Dwonn, Avera, Ga.; three grandchildren, Kyler and Karson Giesbrecht and Kaden Koehn; nine brothers, Earl Koehn and wife Lori, Brooksville, Miss., Dale Koehn and wife Betty, Montezuma, Harley Koehn and wife LaDonna, Detroit, Texas, Calvin Koehn and wife Sandy, Copeland, Oran Koehn and wife Gail, Hartley, Texas, Perry Koehn and wife Frieda, Copeland, Max Koehn and wife Rose, Copeland, Kim Koehn, Liberal, and Ricki Koehn and wife Mary, Copeland; two sisters, Sharon Schmidt and husband Marvin, Garden City, Illa Wedel and husband, Galva; and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister-in-law, Norma Koehn.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Salem Mennonite Church in Copeland with Ministers Sam Unruh Jr., Steve Unruh and Verle Yost presiding.
Burial will be in the Salem Mennonite Cemetery
in Copeland.
Friends may call until 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

GEORGE F. LUNDGRIN
George Fredrick Lundgrin, 93, passed away January 16, 2005, at his home southwest of Hooker. He was the eldest child of Mary (Herbel) and George Lundgrin who were Volga German immigrants from Driespitz, Russia. He was born September 17, 1911, in Ellinwood, Kansas. He became a member of God's family through baptism and a member of the German Lutheran Church of Hooker through the rite of confirmation on June 26, 1927.
At the age of one his family moved to the Hooker area to a farm south of town. George began helping his father on the farm using horse drawn equipment when he was seven years old in the summer of 1918. His love of farming continued throughout his life time. During his career as a successful farmer, George saw many advances in farming including moving from header barges and horses, to combines with thirty-foot platforms, and dry land to sprinkler irrigation.
He attended the Buffalo School near the farm and completed the eighth grade. He also attended St. John's Lutheran Parochial School in Hooker for one year.
On September 26, 1935, George and Eva Petrowsky were united in marriage at St. John's Lutheran Church. They cited Romans 12:12 as their key to a full and successful family life: "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." George and Eva made their home on a farm southwest of Hooker.
They fulfilled their roles as Christian parents raising four daughters in a close-knit family. Their second born, a son, (George Allen) died in 1942 from spinal meningitis at the age of 6 months.
George served the Lord in many capacities, including elder of the church; however, his true love was to instill the word of God in the hearts of children. He accomplished this by serving as Sunday school superintendent and teacher for over thirty years.
George was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 56 years, son, one granddaughter, Krystal Marie Anderson, two brothers, Reubin and Raynard, and two sisters, Clara and Leona.
George is survived by his four daughters: Anita and her husband, Gerald Trimpe; Camie and her husband, Don Bridal; Regina and her husband, Bruce
Anderson, all of Hooker, OK; Nancy and her husband Bill Lines of Goodwell, OK, and special son, Marlin Feil. Grandchildren include: Ricky Trimpe and wife Ruby; George Trimpe; RaSonya and husband Brian Chadick; Shaun Noyes and wife Lora; Jeff Noyes; Brooke and husband Ryan Fredricks; Cara Lines; Jennifer Anderson; and special granddaughter, Lori Conner. Great grandchildren are: Kevin Chadick; Alexis and Riley Trimpe; Marcus and Monica Romero; Makenzie Noyes; and Aubrie Fredricks.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2004 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hooker, Oklahoma with Pastor Rev. Thomas House and Rev. Mark Wescoatt of Trinity Lutheran Church in Guymon, Oklahoma officiating. Interment will be in the Hooker Cemetery
directed by the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Oklahoma.

MYRTLE E. PATTERSON
Myrtle Elizabeth Patterson, 92, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, in The Manor at Eltindale. The daughter of Wesley Clyde and Lillie Brock, she was born in Polk County, Ma., on March 11, 1912. With her husband, C.F. Patterson, they owned and operated a jewelry store in Liberal, Kan., for several years. After his death, she returned to the Springfield area where she had made her home the past 30 years. She was a member of Galloway Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C.F.; and three brothers.
She is survived by a sister and her husband, Rebecca and Frank Powell, Springfield; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and a great-great-niece.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, in Greenlawn Funeral Home. South with Rev. Randy Smith officiating. No formal visitation is planned. Friends may call at their convenience from 2 to 7 p.m. today in Greenlawn South, which is in charge of local arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the Galloway Baptist Church in her memory.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Liberal, Kansas, Cemetery.
LEROY EARNEST
Paul Leroy Earnest Jr., 64, died Jan. 16, 2005, at BSA Home Health and Hospice Center in Amarillo, Texas.
He was born Feb. 4, 1940, to Paul Leroy Sr. and Lottie (Gafford) Earnest in Houston.
He married Tawana Marie Holifield Oct. 31, 1964, in Liberal. She survives.
He was employed at National Beef Packing Co. working in the safety office.
He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He loved fishing and enjoyed traveling with his wife.
Other survivors include one daughter, Stacey Tweedy and husband Mark, Garden City; two grandchildren, Erica Weber and Whitney Weber, both of Garden City; five step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and his father-in-law, Boyd Holifield and wife Lillian, Liberal.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Southern Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Caddell presiding.
Burial will be in Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
WILLIAM TRAVER
HUGOTON -- William "Bill" Traver, 88, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton.
He was born June 12, 1916, to John E. and Ella (Hohn) Traver in Stevens County.
He married Ferne A. Rich April 23, 1940, in Hugoton. She survives.
He was a fieldman for Panhandle Eastern for 28 years.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Hugoton.
He enjoyed going camping with his family.
Other survivors include one son, W. Roger Traver and wife Ellen, Joplin, Mo.; three daughters, Ruthie Winget and husband Larry, Hugoton, Vicki Lea Micheau, Garden City, and Beth Stipe, Amarillo, Texas; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Norman E. Traver, Hugoton; and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, John Leroy Traver, three sisters, Christina Traver, Margaret Harrell and Florence Killingsworth, and two sons-in-laws, John Micheau and Jesse Stipe.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church in Hugoton with Ministers Jeff Aenk and Robert Bailey presiding.
Burial will be in Hugoton Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

TONY THOMPSON
ELKHART -- Tony Thompson, 51, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at Morton County Care Center in Elkhart.
He was born July 8, 1953, to Roscoe Loyd and Helen Arlene (Orth) Thompson in Elkhart.
He married Letha Martin July 8, 1978, in Elkhart.
He graduated from Elkhart High School in 1970. He then attended Fort Hays State University for two years majoring in radio broadcasting.
He worked for Coastal Corp. as a fieldman and a pumper from 1975 to 1996.
He attended the First United Methodist Church in Elkhart.
He was active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.
He enjoyed buying and restoring old cars.
Survivors include his father; two brothers, Gary Thompson, Wichita, and Mark Thompson, Elkhart; one sister, Vicki Noffsinger, Highlands Ranch, Colo.; one nephew; and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Elkhart with the Rev. James Brackett presiding.
Burial will follow at Elkhart Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
