GEORGE D. HARRELL
HUTCHINSON George D. "Dave" Harrell, 81, Hutchinson, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, at the Cedars Care Facility in McPherson, KS.
He was born Oct. 20, 1922 in Springfield, MO to George and Frances Coring Harrell.
He had been a Hutchinson resident since 1970.
He was a graduate of Springfield High School.
He was a retired cereal chemist with Far-Mar-Co of Hutchinson. Following his retirement, he was a clerk at the Hutchinson Wal-Mart, working as a clerk in the sporting goods and electronic departments. While at Wal-Mart, he was known as "Super Dave."
He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church.
He was a member of the Royal Order of the Moose No. 982.
During WWII, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard and served in the U.S. Naval Reserve in the Korean Conflict.
He married Ruth Ragsdale on Nov. 29, 1943, in Springfield, MO. She died April 15, 2000.
Survivors include two sons, Rex and his wife Siri Harrell of McPherson, KS, and Charles Harrell of Wichita; one daughter, Helen O'Kane and her husband Mike of Liberal, KS; one brother, Roy Harrell and his wife Patsy of Springfield, MO; Rita Jones, an aunt of Jasper, Fla.; three granddaughters, Stacy Anna and Kassi; two step-grandsons, Shannon and Brandon; and five great-grandchildren, Danielle, Whitney, Blaze, Lauren and Grant.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Gladden.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m., Wednesday at Elliott Chapel with Father Benjamin David Shockey presiding.
Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery
in Hutchinson.
Friends may call today until 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Graveside military honors will be conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.
In care of Elliott Mortuary, memorials may be sent in lieu of flowers to The Cedars or Holy Cross Catholic Church.
HAROLD E. BOX, JR.
Harold E. Box Jr.'s family wish to inform friends and family of Harold's passing. Harold was born on January 14, 1948 in Ada, Oklahoma, and after a long illness with Multiple Sclerosis, Harold passed away peacefully while living at Grace Living Center in Edmond, Oklahoma on August 16, 2004.
Harold obtained his Bachelor's degree from Wichita State University in 1971. He was also a long-time resident of Liberal, Kansas, where he owned and operated a successful oil and gas company.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Tresha Box. He is also survived by two sons the oldest son, Trey and his family, wife Summer and daughters, Caitlyn and Kelsie, of Edmond, Oklahoma, and the youngest son, Bob and his family, wife Brandy and their children Brayden and Brynlee, of Albuquerque, New Mexico and his son Kyler, of Liberal, Kansas. Harold is also survived by his parents Gene and Helen Box, his brother David Box and family, all of Liberal, Kansas; his sister Sandy O'Riley and family of Sierra Vista, Arizona. Harold is further survived by in-laws, Robert and Joyce Billman of Edmond, Oklahoma. Likewise, Harold is survived by many more friends and family, too numerous to note.
Funeral services will be held at Baggerlery Funeral Home, in Edmond, Oklahoma, on Wednesday, August 18th, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. by Paul Box. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home at 930 S Broadway, Edmond, Oklahoma 73034, or the family would encourage donations to a local Multiple Sclerosis Chapter.
AMANDA H. NAEGELE
Amanda H. Naegele, 100, died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at Wheatridge Park Care Center.
She was born June 3, 1904, to Henry and Alvina Wenthe Witte in Sylvan Grove.
She married Edwin A. Naegele April 21, 1921, in Sylvan Grove. He died Nov. 15, 1980.
She graduated from Sylvan Grove High School and attended Seward College in Deshler, Neb.
She had worked at Ideal Foods, Safeway and Hi-Grade Cleaners.
She was a member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She was a member of the Dorcas Society and the LWML, both of Liberal.
Survivors include six sons, Roger Naegele and wife Ruth, Arkansas City, Paul Naegele, Kerville, Texas, Nolan Naegele and wife Billie, Claremore, Okla., Wally Naegele and wife Gen, Prescott, Ariz., Warren Naegele and wife Nylene, Oceanside, Calif., and Harvey Naegele and wife Glenda, Belton, Mo.; four daughters, Audrey Malcom, Liberal, Jane Nix and husband Benny, Liberal, April Davis, Liberal and Susie Engleman and husband Vince, Texas Creek, Colo.; 47 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth Letterly, Brighton, Colo., and Gertrude Middendolf, McPherson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, two sons, Harold and Stanley Naegele, six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Friday at the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Andrew Wehling presiding.
Burial will be in the Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday at Miller Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in care of the mortuary.
JESUS E. SAUCEDO
Jesus E. Saucedo, 1, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, of injuries in an auto accident near Anson, Texas.
He was born May 23, 2003, to Vicente and Rosalva Torres Saucedo in Liberal.
Survivors include his parents and grandparents, Cristanta Favela and Jesus and Dionicia Torres, all of Mexico.
He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and one grandfather.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today at Miller Chapel with Pastor Navidad Ortega presiding.
Cremation will follow.
JOSE V. SAUCEDO
Jose V. Saucedo, 6, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, of injuries sustained in an auto accident near Anson, Texas.
He was born Dec. 31, 1997, to Vicente and Rosalva Torres Saucedo in Liberal.
He was a student at Lincoln Elementary School.
Survivors include his parents and grandparents, Cristanta Favela and Jesus and Dionicia Torres, all of Mexico.
He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and one grandfather.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today at Miller Chapel with Pastor Navidad Ortega presiding.
Cremation will follow.
DIANA V. SAUCEDO
Diana V. Saucedo, 10, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, of injuries in an auto accident near Anson, Texas.
She was born May 9, 1994, to Vicente and Rosalva Torres Saucedo.
She was a student at Cottonwood Intermediate School.
Survivors include his parents and grandparents, Cristanta Favela and Jesus and Dionicia Torres, all of Mexico.
She was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and one grandfather.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today at Miller Chapel with Pastor Navidad Ortega presiding.

PAULETTE E. SMITH
GARDEN CITY Paulette E. "Polly" Smith, 61, died Tuesday Aug. 17, 2004 at her daughter's residence in Garden City.
She was born May 21, 1943, to Paul E. and Mary Ellen (Love) Walker in Okmulgee, Okla.
She was a homemaker and had been a Garden City resident for the past seven years moving from Liberal.
She married James A. Smith Oct. 23, 1974, in Las Vegas. He died May 17, 1997.
Survivors include her mother; one son. Kirk Smith and wife Patricia, Florida; seven daughters, Mary Raup and husband Greg, Garden City, Tammy Stewart, Kinsley, Jeanette Myers, Emporia, Toni Smith, Loretta Sims, Garden City, Lanette Lundblade and husband Orville, Garden City, and Julie Long and husband Ben, Kinsley; 22 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Dipert and wife Catrina, Sharon Springs, and Bud Dipert, New Mexico; and three sisters, Barbara Brown, Newton, Nancy Savage, Hutchinson, and Delberta Rodriguez and husband Barry, Kinsley.
She was preceded in death by her father and one son James Smith, Jr.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m., Saturday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Bagwell presiding.
Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery
in Liberal.

ULYSSES Lane Cooper Smith, infant, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.
Survivors include his parents, one brother, Cade Walker Smith, Ulysses; his grandparents, Peter and Susan Smith, Hillsboro, Wis., and Pat and Gail Ray, Ulysses; great-grandparent, Arnold Ferrari, Boston; aunts and uncles, Hannah and William Bontrager, Hillsboro, Wis., Daniel Smith, Ellensburgh, Wash., Ruth and Nolan Metzger, Hillsboro, Wis., Isaac and Elizabeth Smith and Stephen Smith, all of Hillsboro, Wis. and Josh Ray, Colby.
