LARRY L. HUNGATE
AMARILLO, Texas -- Larry Lynn Hungate, 68, died Thursday, May 6, 2004, in Amarillo.
He was born March 22, 1936, to Harry and Minnie Agnes Hungate in Dallas.
He married Kay Janelle Russell Dec. 28, 1958, in Claude, Texas. She survives.
He was a graduate of Canyon High School in Canyon, Texas, and he earned a bachelor's degree in education from West Texas State University.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He taught in the Amarillo public schools for 30 years, retiring in January 1990.
He was a life member of NEA, TSTA and the Retired Teachers Association.
He was a member of San Jacinto Baptist Church in Amarillo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Jimmie Lee Hungate.
Other survivors include two daughters, Lorrie Lynne Bagwell and husband, David, Liberal, and Kristi Kay Steelman and husband, Jeff, Bovina, Texas; four grandchildren, Allison, AShley and Amber Bagwell, all of Liberal, and Jeffrey Steelman, Bovina.
Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at San Jacinto Baptist Church in Amarillo with the Revs. David Bagwell, Liberal, and Dale Moreland, Amarillo, presiding.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Dreamland Cemetery
in Canyon.
The family will be receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Schooler Funeral Home in Amarillo.

DUANE L. FRUECHTING
PLAINS - Duane Lee Fruechting, age 68, died Wednesday morning, May 5, 2004, at his rural Plains residence.
Arrangements are pending and will be announced by Fidler-Orme Mortuary, Meade.
FRANKIE ROMERO
Frankie "Tony" Romero, 34, died Friday, May 7, 2004.
He was born April 8, 1970, in Denver, Colo., to Frank A. and Margie G. Cordova Romero.
He married Andrea Martinez April 14, 1995, in Liberal. She survives.
He graduated from Liberal School in 1989 and attended the Southwest Kansas Technical School in 1999.
He drove trucks for Airgas for several years and at present was driving for Jesus Arredondo at National Carriers.
He was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal.
He enjoyed helping others, fishing camping, playing cards and casinos and the Dallas Cowboys.
He is also survived by one son, Blake Anthony Romero, Liberal; his parents, Frank and Margie Romero, Albuquerque, N.M.; three sisters, Loretta Alieres and husband Tim, Liberal, Prescilla Romero, Albuquerque, N.M., and Angela Bullard and husband Jason, Shakopee, Minn.; grandparents, Mary Romero, Hugoton, and Gilbert and Margaret Cordova, Liberal; nieces and nephews, T.J. Alires, Maddison Schroetlin, Dalton and Logan Bullard; and in-laws, Gilbert and Cindy Martinez, Guymon, Okla., Greg Martinez, Wichita, and Daniel and Theresa Torrez, Guymon, Okla.
Welcoming of the Body will be at 6 p.m. today followed by Rosary at 7 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Patrick Keyes presiding.
Burial will be in the Liberal Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Frankie "Tony" Romero Children Educational Fund, in care of the Bank of America or they may be left at the mortuary.
BARBARA A. PARSONS
WICHITA - Barbara Ann Parsons, 68, died Friday, May 7, 2004, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
She was born Aug. 6, 1935, at Oswego to Ward and Helen (Mingle) Warbinton.
She was a graduate of Haper High School, Harper.
She married Dr. James K. Parsons in Dec. 22, 1957 in Harper. He died July 9, 1992.
She was a former Liberal resident since 1961, having moved to Wichita in 1998. In her earlier years, she worked at Case International, Wichita. After moving to Liberal, she assisted with her husband's optometry practice.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Liberal.
She is survived by four sons, Jeff and wife, Julie, Liberal, Craig, Huntsville, Ala., Drew and wife, Amy, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Thad and wife, Tracey, Wichita; nine grandchildren, Blake, Jessica, Alex, Cameron, Jordann, Justin, Evan, Alan and Kayla Parsons; and one brother, Ronald Warbinton, Haper.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Robert Warbinton and one sister, Jean Fox.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, at First United Methodist Church, Liberal with Reverends Mike Keating and Ken Hathaway, presiding. Burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery.
Visitation is. until 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., Tuesday at Kitch-Brennman Funeral Home.

MARIE SUMRALL
SALINA - Marie Sumrall, 87, died Friday, May 7, 2004.
She was born September 26, 1916, to John and Catharina (Gezsa) Slivka in Homestead, Pa.
She married Willard Raymond Sumrall Dec. 30, 1935, in Titusville, Fla. He died Aug. 2, 1969.
Survivors include a son, Willard R., Jr., Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Betty Hicks, Liberal, Shirley Folsom, Salina; six grandchildren; three brothers, John, George and Paul, Bethlehem, Pa.; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were today at 10 a.m. at the Salina Bible Church, Salina.
Burial was today at 1 p.m., Monday at the Hoisington Cemetery, Hoisington.
Memorials are suggested to the Beautification Project, Virginia Gardens, Fla.
DAVID K. SHEPHERD
David Keith "Shep" Shepherd, 79, Liberal, died Monday, May 10, 2004, at the Liberal Good Samaritan Center.
He was born Sept. 9, 1928, in Liberal to Robert M. and Ernestine Medler Shepherd.
He married Martha M. Miller Aug. 2, 1952, in Winfield. She died April 10, 1996.
He attended school in Liberal and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy.
He worked at the Liberal Ice Company for many years and later was a machinist at Beech Aircraft over 30 years and retired in 1984.
Survivors include special friends, Ellen and Duane Pelton, Turpin, Okla., and Kara and Scott Bean, Greeley, Colo.; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Robert Shepherd.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the Liberal Cemetery
with Rev. Wyatt Carpenter presiding.
Friends may call at the Miller Mortuary until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Burial was at 2 p.m. Monday at Dreamland Cemetery
in Canyon, Texas.
