ROY C. LAMBETH
ULYSSES -- Roy C. Lamberth, 85, died Thursday, April 29, 2004, at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses.
He was born Feb. 22, 1919, in Poise, Texas to Bill and Mary Lambeth.
He married Vivian Holman, in Brownfield, Texas, in 1941. She died Dec. 1984. He then married Mary Belle Trout in Sonara, Texas. She died in 1996.
He grew up in Brownfield and Seagraves, Texas where he worked at Columbium Chemical for 35 years. After he retired in 1981, he became an ordained United Pentecostal pastor. He served in the U.S. army from 1942 until 1945 when he was honorably discharged.
He is survived by two sons, Royce Lambeth, Ulysses and James Lambeth, Dennard, Ark; two daughters, Juanita Vickors, Victoria, Texas and Joyce Harris, Omaha, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and one sister, Dockey Hulse, Brownwood, Texas.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Deward Lambeth and two sisters, Ruby Stone, and Lola Lewis.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Roselane Church of God in Ulysses with Pastor Mike Wirt presiding.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery
in Ulysses.
Friends may call the Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday.

LEONARD R. MONROE
DODGE CITY -- Leonard R. Monroe, 61, died Monday, April 26, at his Plains, Kansas residence.
He was born June 11, 1943, in Sterling, to Oscar Benjamin and Georgia Anna (Elstun) Monroe.
He was a resident of Plains, Kansas for one year, moving from Dodge City. He was a bricktender for Harold Gable of G and S Masonry, Dodge City. He was a talented artist.
Survivors include four brothers, Wesley Lee Monroe, Spokane, Wash.; Harold Cedric Monroe, Lebanon, Ohio; Dale Monroe, Sterling; and Richard E. Monroe.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Earl Monroe; and one sister, Georgianna Melvina Fenwick.
Memorial services will be take place at a later date.

FERN MCMANAMAN
MANTER -- Fern McManaman, 67, of died Friday, April 30, 2004, at Stanton County Hospital, in Johnson.
She was born August 1, 1936, to John Noel and Daisy Pearl (Haner) Munsey in Boise, Idaho.
She married LeRoy McManaman May 10, 1957, at Syracuse. He died Aug. 10, 1979.
A resident of Manter since 1962, she had been a homemaker and worked at Ansel Cab at Ulysses. In 1984, she opened the Stage Shop Cafe in Manter. She enjoyed working at the cafe, playing marbles and working in her yard and pond.
Survivors include two sons Jerry and Marvin McManaman; one daughter Casey McManaman, Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren;two great grandchildren; and one brother Wes Harner, Larned.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Rick Rogers.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
Burial will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery, Johnson.

EMILEE JOY SCHMIDT
MONTEZUMA -- Emilee Joy Schmidt, 24, died Saturday, May 1, 2004, at Bethel Home Inc. in Montezuma.
She was born Jan. 27, 1980, to Minister Robert G. and Patricia Kay (Dirks) Schmidt in Chikasha, Okla.
She was a member of the Plainview Mennonite Church in Chickasha, Okla.
She is survived by her parents; one brother, Tim Schmidt and wife, Carrie, Chickasha, Okla.; two sisters, Christy Toews, and husband, Kyle, Cimarron; Marsha Schmidt, Pauls Valley, Okla.; two grandmothers, Marjorie Dirks, Montezuma, Malinda Schmidt, Montezuma; three nephews; one niece; and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers; Albert Schmidt and Vernon Dirks.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Plainview Mennonite Church in Verden, Okla. with Ministers Charles Schmidt, Calvin Nightingale and Bradley Koehn presiding.
Burial will be at the Plainview Mennonite Cemetery
in Verden, Okla.

ADDIE M. YOUNG
Addie Mae (Mahon) Young, 86, died Monday, May 3, 2004, at Southwest Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 19, 1917, Springs, Ark., to Gus Jackson and Alberta Cordelia (McDowell) Mahon at Heber, Ark.
She married Elbert Judson Young in Little Rock, Ark. He died Oct. 30, 1999.
She graduated from Heber Springs High School.
She had been a Liberal resident since 1954 moving from Lamar, Colo.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Church of God in Liberal, where she worshiped and served in various capacities for 50 years.
She also was a member of Southwest Medical Center Auxiliary, working at the snack bar/gift shop for more than 30 years.
She is survived by one son, Nolan, and his wife Elaine Hester, Olathe; one daughter, Janis Young, Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren, Erin Young, San Diego, Calif., Brendan Young, Olathe, Michael Jones, Garden City, and Tricia (Jones) Holt of Springfield, Mo.; and two great- granddaughters, Bailey Wilson and Marra Holt, Springfield, Mo.
She was also preceded in death by parents; one daughter, Mary Lorrine (Young) Jones; four brothers, Clarence, Jeff, Clint and Att Mahon; three sisters, Pat Snell, Dovie Mahon and Irene Mahon.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Friday at the First Church of God with Rev. Larry McCall and Rev. David Parker presiding.
Burial will be at 2 p.m., Saturday at Fairmont Cemetery, Lamar, Colo.

VERNON H. HALLSTED
SUBLETTE -- Vernon H. Hallsted, 79, died Saturday May 1, 2004, at Saint John Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla.
He was born June 8, 1924, to Raymond Vernon and Ruth Eugene (Thomson) Hallsted in Chadron, Neb.
He married Margie Griffith Duncan Aug. 17, 1946, in Greenville, Tenn. She died Oct. 2, 1999.
He graduated from Washakie County High School in Worland, Wyo. He attended Los Angeles City College.
He served in the U.S. Army. He served in the European Theatres of Operation during World War II. He received the Bronze Star, awarded for meritorious combat against armed enemy.
He was in partnership with his father in home construction in Sublette from 1949 to 1954. He was a postmaster in Sublette, retiring Aug. 28, 1981.
He was a former member of the First Baptist Church and United Methodist Church both of Sublette. He was a member of the Sublette American Legion Post No. 205 Color Guard Firing Squad, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Life Member of Good Sam Camper Club, USA, life member of National Association Federal Retired Employees, First United Methodist Church in Dodge City and the builders Sunday School Class, AARP, and Ford County Retired Senior Volunteer program.
He is survived by one son, David H. Hallsted, and wife Connie, Tulsa, Okla.; one daughter, Cathy Reeves and husband, Alan, Dodge City; three grandsons, Robert Hallsted, Thomas Hallsted and Christopher Reeves and many relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Dodge City, with Dr. Mike Gardner presiding.
Military graveside services will be conducted by Sublette American Legion Post No. 205, Sublette at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Haskell County Cemetery
in Sublette.

KOBE M. MOSBY
MOSCOW - Kobe Michael Mosby, five-month-old son of Clinton and Keely Hammock Mosby, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at the Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton.
He was born November 8, 2003, in Liberal.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Desiray Mosby, Moscow; grandparents, Angie Crain, Hugoton, Johnny Gonzales, Hugoton; Clyde and Marsha Abbott, Beaver, Okla., Tim Hammock and Shawna Lee, Liberal; great-grandparents, Jean Nabours, Hugoton, Faye Hammock, Liberal, Virginia Benton, Liberal, Harold and Katherine Abbott, Tyrone, Okla.; and great-great-grandparents, Ash Flat, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers Ralph Hammock and Robert E. Benton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Friday at the Miller Chapel with Kenneth Benton presiding.
Burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery.
