MANY, La. -- Samuel Marvin Lewis, 74, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at Grace Home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Lakeside Cemetery
in Florien, La.
FANNIE A. GOLDY
ANDERSON -- Fannie A. (Akers) Goldy, 85, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2003, at Community Northview in Anderson.
She was born March 17, 1918.
She married Elmer H. Goldy in 1945. He died March 20, 2001.
She worked at the VA hospital in Wichita.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherry and husband, Ron Miller, and Charlotte Goldy; one step-daughter, Rose and husband, Raymond Dicken; one brother, Richard Akers; one sister, Arlene Mauch; one grandson; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home and Crematory, North Chapel with the Reverend Kerry Robinson presiding.
Burial was at Vinson Cemetery
in Summitville.
JIMMIE E. SANCHEZ
ELKHART -- Jimmie E. Sanchez, 73, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.
He was born June 8, 1930, to Santiago and Theresa (Porttilas) Sanchez in Clayton, N.M.
He married Shelia A. Smith May 26, 1971, in Boise City, Okla. She survives.
He spent his early years in Clayton, N.M. where he attended schools. He moved to Hugoton in 1950, and then moved to Elkhart in 1970 where was a residence until the current time. He worked as an auto mechanic for the Elkhart Ford Garage from 1970 until 1984. He then worked as a bus mechanic for the Elkhart schools from 1985 until 1991. He worked as a handyman for the Elkhart museum for eight years.
His hobbies included hunting and fishing.
Other survivors include three daughters, Theresa Ann Azim, Hutchinson, Rebecca Lynn Sanchez, Kansas City, and Kandie May Martin, Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Elkhart with the Pastor Jimmy Holman presiding.
Burial will be at the Elkhart Cemetery
in Elkhart.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

ALBERT NIGHTENGALE
INGALLS -- Albert Nightengale, 88, died Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at Bethel Home Inc. in Montezuma.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Montezuma Funeral Home.
HAZEL IRENE (LUM) MCCUTCHEN
Hazel Irene (Lum) McCutchen, 80, died Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at Liberal Good Samaritan Center in Liberal.
She was born Nov. 16, 1922, to Ernie and Anna (Floto) Lum in Ft. Morgan, Colo.
She married Marl Wendell McCutchen March 7, 1947, in Denver, Colo.
She was a graduate of Ft. Morgan High School.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Women of the Moose and First Presbyterian Church in Farmington, N.M. She also was a Past Guardian of the International Order of Job's Daughters.
Her hobbies included embroidery work.
Survivors include one son, Gary Calvin McClutchen and his wife, Judy, Farmington, N.M.; three daughters, Sandra Mea Ann Eglinton, Mesa, Ariz., Tammy Lynn Abott and husband, Travis, Liberal, and Teri Lea Hankins, Moulton, Ala.; one brother, Harry Lum, Gering, Neb.; three sisters, Edna Wilkins and husband, Gail, Gering, Neb., Irma Wilson, Yakima, Wash., and Esther Jones, Ft. Morgan, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Ft. Morgan Memory Garden Cemetery
in Ft. Morgan, Colo.

JOANN BRUCE
ULYSSES -- JoAnn Bruce, 71, died Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses.
She was born Jan. 19, 1932, to Curtis and Daisy (Cawthon) Retherford in Springfield, Colo.
She married Joe A. Bruce Jan. 1, 1958, in Sprinfield. He died Dec. 5, 1994.
She moved to Ulysses in 1958. She was a homemaker and she worked for Water Service in Ulysses for several years.
She was a member of the St. Johns Episcopal Church in Ulysses.
Her hobbies included shopping, going to the senior center and visiting on the phone.
Survivors include one daughter, Shanda Bruce, Canon City, Colo. and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Friday at Ulysses Cemetery
in Ulysses with the Father Staley Hackley presiding.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery
in Ulysses.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Grant County Funeral Home.
Grant County Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
JULIA PAULINE MAPP
HUGOTON -- Julia Pauline Mapp, 94, died Wednesday, October 1, 2003, in Noewalk, Calif.
She was born July 27, 1909, to Charles Edward and Cora Mea Bell Mapp in Medtherford, Texas.
She was a former resident of Hugoton.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Paul's Funeral Home Chapel with Jay Stapelton presiding.
Burial will follow at Tyrone Cemetery
in Tyrone, Okla.
Friends may visit the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday.

CLEO EVELYN KEPLEY
ULYSSES -- Cleo Evelyn Kepley, 84, died Sunday, October 5, 2003 at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses.
She was born Nov. 1, 1918 at Haviland to Howard Jullian and Jessie Mable (Oglevie) Titus.
She married Ray R. Kepley, October 20, 1938 in Liberal Kansas. He survives.
She was a 1936 graduate of Grant County Rural High School.
She was a resident of Grant County since 1926.
She worked for the ASC office as a clerk and she was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Golden HDU Club and the Christian Women's Club in Ulysses.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. , Thursday, October 9, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses with the reverend Dennis Livingstong presiding.
Burial will be at the Golden Cemetery
in Ulysses.
Friends may call the Garnand Funeral home in Ulysses until 8 p.m. today.

EMILY E. WALSH
ELKHART -- Emily E. Walsh, 66, died Monday October 6, 2003 at her home in Elkhart.
She was born December 15, 1936 to Clarence and Harriett E. (Nirk) Jolliff in Koshkong, Mo.
She married Pete Walsh on Nov. 28, 1958 in Clayton, N.M. He survives.
She attended schools in Garden City. She spent her early years in Garden City. She was a resident of Elkhart since 1957.
She worked as a cashier/clerk for Ideal food serice and for IGA food service. She was a custodian fo the Elkhart Elementary School, and retired in 1991. After retiring she worked as a sales clerk for Gem Dandy's in Elkhart.
Her hobbies included crocheting and gardening.
Other survivors include three sons, Ronnie Anderson and wife, Pat, Elkhart, Sam Walsh, Tom Walsh and wife, Kam, Elkhart; two daughters, Delores Anderson, Guymon, Okla., and Pam Haigler, Elkhart; two brothers, Carl Bridwell, and wife, Skeeter, Flagstaff, Ariz., Gary Bridwell and wife,Kayla, Independence; five sisters, Joan Hinkle, and husband, Herman, Ulysses, Darlene Blake, and husband, Terry, Great Bend, Dorothy Anderson, Ulysses, Kathy Pierce, Elkhart, Sherry Harris and husband, Steve, Johnson City, Tenn.;14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m., Friday at The First Church of God in Elkhart with the Pastor John Morden presiding.
Burial will be at Elkhart Cemetery
in Elkhart.
