PASCUAL RODRIGUEZ, SR.

GARDEN CITY -- Pascual Rodriguez, Sr. , 66, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003 at St. Anthony Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.

He was born May 17, 1937 to Miguel and Aurora (Rangel) Rodriguez in San Luis, Potosi, Mexico.

He married Maria C. Bautista on Nov. 28, 1958 in Plainview, Texas.

He moved to Garden City in 1985.

He was a migrant worker in Neb, Calif., N.M., and Ariz. He worked for Delta Irrigation for four years, he worked for Farmland for seven and one-half years, and IBP for seven years. He served as a minister for Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church. He retired in 1991.

He attended the Asamblea de Dios Church. His hobbies were camping, hunting, gardening, singing and listening to music, reading the bible, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, four sons, Pascual B. Rodriguez, Jr., Garden City; Hugo Rodriguez, Austin, Texas; Valentin Rodriguez, Garden City; Jose Rodriguez, Garden City; five daughters, Janie Morgan, Garden City; Mary Lou Rodriguez, Dallas, Texas; Connie Carrillo, Garden City; Irene Mitchell, Dodge City, Nelda Rodriguez, Garden City; his father, two brothers, Jose Rodriguez, Idalou, Texas; Robert Rodriguez, Leoti; one sister, Sandra Maestas, Leoti, and 25 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, his brother; Ausencion Rodriguez and granddaughter, Nicole Hope Rodriguez.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, at First United Methodist Church in Garden City.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Garden City.

Friends may call Garnand Funeral Home at 620-276-3219 in Garden City until 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Monday.

JUANITA (NITA) MAE WOODWARD

Juanita (Nita) Mae Woodward, 76, passed away May 9th 2003 at the home of her daughter, Jeanne Carter, in Liberal.

Nita's death was due to health and physical conditions due to a vehicle wreck she was involved in on Sept. 10, 2002.

Nita was born on March 2, 1927 in Stevens County to Oral Parker and Violet Esther (Morrison) Parker. She attended school in Granada, Colo., Hutchinson and Liberal.

In 1944, Nita married Ernest Craig Kerfoot and to this union five children were born, Jeanne Carter, Liberal, Esther Barkdoll and husband Earnest Sublette, Barbara JoAnn Kerfoot, deceased, Ernest Craig Kerfoot II and wife, Jo, Hensley, Ark., and Rolinda Hoskinson and husband, Roy, Pampa, Texas.

In 1955, Nita married Roy Ray Hoskinson and to this union three children were born, James Hoskinson, Liberal, William Hoskinson and wife, Diana, San Diego, Calif. and Wallace Hoskinson of Fairfax, Okla. There was also a step-son, Roy Hoskinson Jr. Pampa, Texas.

Nita was also married to Tom Woodward in 1971.

Nita was preceded in death by one daughter, her parents, step-dad, two brothers, one sister, one grandson, one great-grand daughter, one niece and one nephew.

Nita's survivors include eight sisters, Winnie Kellet, Solana Beach, Calif., Phyllis Jacabsen Encintas, Calif., Jo Ellen Bullock, Friend, Neb., Pat Jones Pueblo West, Colo., Lora Bentley Rock Springs, Wyo., Connie Peak, Oceola, Mo., Linda Hagins, Carthage, Mo., and Emma Lea Marshall, Rock Springs, Wyo.; four brothers, Jack Parker Eads, Colo., Norman Parker, Dighton, Gene Parker Eads, Colo., and Paul Parker, Dighton. Also step-mother, Margit Parker, Lamar, Colo. Nita also is survived by 16 grandchildren, 26 great- grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Juanita (Nita) had a great love for family and people both friends and strangers. She is greatly missed.

ANTHONY J. "TONY" IRSIK

ELKHART -- Anthony J. "Tony" Irsik, 79, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003 at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.

He was born May 22, 1924 to John A. and Alice M. (Baldwin) Irsik.

He married Alice Mae Ferrell May 22, 1946, in Lakin. She survives.

He lived in Ingalls, before moving to Holcomb and Hays where he attended school. He was a United States Army Veteren of World War 2 from 1943 to 1946. He also served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1951. He was later a resident of Richfield from 1954 to 1964 moving to Elkhart where was a resident until his death. He worked as senior operator for Colorado Interstate Gas Company (C.I.G.) for 38 years.

He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Elkhart, Knights of Columbus and V.F.W. Post #3162.

His hobbies included, hunting and fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Other survivors include, three sons, Raymond E. Irsik, Elkhart, Dennis A. Irsik, Garden City and Anthony J. Irsik Jr., Guymon, Okla.; seven daughters, Barbara J. Hamaker, Aurora, Colo., Christina L. Ryan, Burdette, Nancy K. Lutz, Elkhart, Rita A. Irsik, Liberal, Mary M. Pickerill, Borger, Texas, Annette Y. Shilling, Ulysses, and Carmen J. Irsik, Derby; one brother, Bernard J. Irsik, Thornton, Colo.; two sisters, Alberta J. Sigg, Roggen, Colo., and Mary P. Bevier, Welches, Ore.; 25 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Elkhart.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Elhart with the Father Francis Khoi Nguyen presiding.

Burial will be at Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart.

Military rites will be conducted by the Elkhart Area Veterens Honor Guard Post #3162.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.

MARY L. PRATHER

MEADE -- Mary L. Prather, 90, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003 in Leavenworth.

She was born July 22, 1913, to John and Mary Ellen Dickson Bechtel in Cresswell Ore.

She married Hilton Prather on May 22, 1936, in Garden City. He died on April 23, 1993.

She was a longtime Meade resident. She moved to Leavenworth. She worked as an English teacher in Meade. She was a homemaker. She owned the Moon Mist Motel from 1959 until 1976. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Leavenworth. She was a past member of United Methodist Church in Meade, where she served as the choir director for 30 years and served in many positions on the local district and conference levels. She was the president of the Kansas West Conference United Methodist Women, the Business and Professional Women and the Sorosis Federated Women's Club in Meade. She was the secretary for the City Bowling Association. She bowled for many years. She was an avid sports fan.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Prather, McPherson, Larry Prather and wife, Marilyn, Buhler; two daughters, Linda Prather, Leavenworth, Carol Zart and husband, Karl, Leavenworth; one brother, William Bechtel, Port Townsend, Wash.; seven grandchildren, Robert Prather, Nathan Prather, David Prather, Matthew Zart, Robert Prather, Leisa Erazmus, Tanya Prather, Christa Prather Stern; two great-grandchildren, Alyx Glover Erazmus and Joshua Prather Stern. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, John Prather; one brother Reverend David Bechtel, and one sister Blanche Richardson Groebe.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 15 at United Methodist Church in Meade with the Reverend Susan Greene presiding.

Friends may visit from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Fidler-Orme Mortuary Sunday in Meade.

There will be a private family burial at Graceland Cemetery in Meade.

Memorials are suggested to United Methodist Church in Meade or Hospice in care of the funeral home.

GERRI S. BURGIN KNOTT

WICHITA -- Gerri S. Burgin Knott, 73, died Sunday, September 14, 2003, at LakePoint Nursing and Rehab in El Dorado.

She was born Sept. 9, 1930, to Harry and Easter Crouse Burgin in Meade.

She married James Daniel "J.D." Knott Sept. 5, 1951, in Meade. He died Feb. 4, 1989.

She graduated from Meade High School. She was a retired telephone operator for Southwestern Bell and a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assesi Catholic Church and the Joy Club, both of Wichita.

Survivors include two sons, David W. and Dennis L. Knott, Wichita; one sister, Olivia Lee, Minneola; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Marilyn Diane and Debra Ann; three brothers, Orville, Willis and Carrol Burgin.

Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.

Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Plains with the Father Francis Stuart presiding.

Burial will be at Plains Cemetery in Plains.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.

LINDA SUE BARKER

OLATHE -- Linda Sue Barker, 64, died Saturday, September 13, 2003, at Delmar Gardens in Overland Park.

She was born Dec. 20, 1938, in Amarillo, Texas.

She married Jim Meredith. He survives.

She grew up in Plains and lived most of her life in Wichita before moving to Olathe in 2001. She graduated from Texas Women's Univerity with a Bachelor's degree in nursing and completed a Master's degree in eduacation at Wichita State University.

She was a member and past president of Hypatia Beta Club in Wichita.

Her hobbies included floral arranging, reading and animals.

Other survivors include one daughter, Kimberly and husband, Jim Meredith, Olathe.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Mortuary followed by committal of ashes at Lakeview Cemetery in Wichita.

Another memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Silvercrest in Walnut Park, 1306 Metcalf in Overland Park.

Memorials are suggested by the family to Cancer Action in Kansas City or Kansas Humane Society in Wichita.

J.B. BOHANNAN

J.B. Bohannan, 70, died Tuesday, September 16, 2003, at his home in Liberal.

He was born July 27, 1933, to John L. and Alma Mae (Fuller) Bohannan in Ozark, Ark.

He married Jane Watkins July 24, 1953, in Dewey, Okla. She survives.

He graduated from high school in 1951 in Cedarvale. He was a Liberal resident for 37 years after moving from Pawhuska, Okla. He was a retired oilfield consultant and rancher.

His hobbies included fishing, playing dominoes and cards, working with his horses and playing frisbee with his dog, Daisy.

Other Survivors include two sons, J.B. Bohannan, Jr. and wife, Sonja, Azle, Texas, Timothy Bohannan and wife, Sheryl, Liberal; one daughter, Donna Kay Harper and husband, Steve, Hugoton,; one brother, John "Junior" Bohannan, Chautauqua, and one sister, Shirley Mae Griffing, Rosehill; eight grandchildren, Eric Bohannan, Chris Harper, Amy Bohannan, Paige Bohannan, Brandi Bohannan, Chelsie Harper; two step-grandchildren Christopher Hibbert , Candice Hibbert and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Tommy; one daughter Mary Katherine Bohannan, and three brothers, Ivan Bohannan, Melvin Bohannan and Cally Bohannan.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home with the Minister Lee Skelton presiding.

Burial will be at Restlawn cemetery in Liberal.

Friends may visit the Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and at 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to Liberal home Health & Hospice in care of Kitch Brenneman Funeral home, 1212 W. 2nd, Liberal, KS 67901.
