DONNA BELLE SCHULTZ
Donna Belle Schultz, 95, died Sunday August 17, 2003, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She was born Jan. 5, 1908, to Charles M. and Melvina C. (Summerfield) Light in Beaver County, Okla.
She married William H. Schultz April 16, 1932, in Liberal. He died Feb. 23, 1965.
She graduated from Liberal High School in 1927. She graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Mo. in 1930. She was secretary at the Liberal Savings and Loan for several years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Circle #3, a 77-year member and Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star Liberal Chapter #104, 50 year plus and charter member of the Chapter of FAPEO, and a member of the BPW where she had served as president and had held several state offices and was a founding member of the Liberal Garden Club, all of Liberal.
Her hobbies included traveling.
Survivors include one daughter, Janice Post-Bendsen, Powersite, Mo.; one grandson, John R. Kurth, Atchinson; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Memorial services will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Miller Mortuary Chapel in Liberal with the Reverend Ken Hathaway presiding.
Burial will be at a later date.
Friends may sign the register book from 8 a.m. until service time Thursday at Miller Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested by the family to the Donna Belle Schultz Memorial Fund (Domestic Violence) in care of the Community Bank in Liberal or may be left at the Miller Mortuary.
RALPH K. FORD
HUTCHINSON ญญ Ralph K. Ford, 81, died Sunday August 17, 2003, at his home in Hutchinson.
He was born June 9, 1922, to Winifred Ray Ford and Ada Mariah (Jones) Ford in Hutchinson.
He married Betty Jean Pitcher June 18, 1944, in McPherson. She survives.
He was a lifetime Hutchinson resident. He graduated from Buhler High School in 1941. He was a Navy Seaman First Class serving from 1942 to 1945. He is a World War 2 Veteren. He retired as a Construction Superintendent.
He was a member of the VFW Bob Campbell Post #1361.
Other survivors include one son, Gary L. Ford, Souix City, Iowa; two daughters, Cindy Hill, Burnsville, Minn. and Sharon Quinn, Lyons; two brothers, Leo Ford, Hutchinson, and Bobbie Ford, Grove, Okla.; two sisters, Betty Jean Cook, Hutchinson, Mary Siebert, Pretty Prairie; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Billie and Lloyd Ford and two sisters, Eleanor Moore and Dixie Ford.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Elliot Chapel in Hutchinson with the Pastor Dusty Cowell and the Pastor Jennifer Hill presiding.
Burial will be at Fairlawn Burial Park.
Friends may call until 9 p.m. Tuesday.

FRANCES FREELAND CUMMINGS
LARNED ญญ Frances Freeland Cummings, 80, died Tuesday August 19, 2003, at Kansas Soldiers Home in Fort Dodge.
She was born Oct. 15, 1922, to Henry William and Elizabeth Bacon (Baldwin) Freeland in Kingman.
She married Dale Walter Cummings Aug. 8, 1949, in Wichita. He died Feb. 1, 1994.
She graduated from Wichita East High School and was a Seaman First Class radio operator in the Women's Navy during World War 2. She later graduated from Fort Hays State College with a teaching degree. She taught school at Castleton for eight years. In 1970 the family moved to Larned where she taught 2nd grade at Phinney Elementary for 10 years, until retiring in May of 1980. She moved to Montezuma in 1999, then to the Good Samaritan Center in Dodge City in 2000 and finally to the Kansas Soldiers Home in Fort Dodge in 2001.
She was a member of the New Convenant Church at Larned and later attended the Homeland Church of God in Christ Mennonite in Montezuma.
Survivors include one son, Mike Cummings and wife, Jan, Montezuma; one daughter, Beth Millan, Larned; one step-son, Jim Blackard, Claremore, Okla.; one step-daughter, Sidney Presley and husband, Tom, Bixby, Okla.; two brothers, Sam Freeland, Larned, James Freeland and wife, Nancy, Sierra Vista, Ariz.; three grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two son-in-laws; Roy Simpson and Manuel Millan; one sister, Bettie Pitts; one brother-in-law, Hardy Pitts and one sister-in-law, Beryl Freeland.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at The Father's House Church in Larned with David Spare and Doug Mason presiding.
Burial will be at Larned Cemetery
in Larned.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday at The Father's House Church in Larned.

LANEY MARIE DAVIS
Laney Marie Davis, died Wednesday August 20, 2003, a short time after her birth at Via Christi St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Survivors include her parents, Emmet Ryan Davis and Elizabeth Trujillo; maternal grandmother, Yvette Trujillo, Kismet; paternal grandparents, Emmett Brynes, David Davis and Mary Reid, both of Liberal; maternal great-grandparents, Lucy Cazares, Frank Trujillo and Darlene Domingez Trujillo; and paternal great-grandfather, Joe Hickey.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Toby Cordova and Pamela Jean Davis.
Funeral mass will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Father Patrick Keyes presiding.
Burial will be at Plains Cemetery
in Plains.
Funeral arrangements are by Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal.
FLOYD E. BURR
ELKHART ญญ Floyd E. Burr, 86, died Wednesday August 20, 2003, at his home in Elkhart.
He was born June 21, 1917, to Arthur Hubbard and Anna Mae (Guatney) Burr in rural Peabody.
He married Ester I. Horton Dec. 14, 1940, in Guymon, Okla. She survives.
He moved to Elkhart in 1940. He served the United States Army from Feb. 1941 to July 1945. Floyd farmed in the Elkhart area from 1946 to 1976 and was employed by the Morton County Road Department from June,1961 until retiring in 1986. He served as undersherrif and deputy. He also assisted the Morton County Fair Board for 12 years. He also worked as the baliff for the Morton County District Court for 13 years.
He was a member of the V.F.W. and the Morton County Fair Board.
His hobbies included fishing, reading, family and his grandchildren's events.
Other survivors include two sons, James A. Burr, Tyrone, Okla. and Edward D. Burr, Ellinwood; and four grandchildren, Carla Hutcherson, Canyon Texas, Linda Cannon, Great Bend, Devin Burr, Hutchinson, Mikell Burr, Hays.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Elkhart United Methodist Church in Elkhart.
Burial will be at Elkhart Cemetery
in Elkhart.

EDITH JUNE GRISHAM
MEADE ญญ Edith June Grisham, 95, died Thursday August 21, 2003, at the Lone Tree Compassionate Care Center in Meade.
She was born June 29, 1908, to Arthur S. and Clara B. (Caroll) Fudge in Kalkaska, Mich.
She married Linus R. Grisham Dec. 25, 1938, in Cadillac, Mich. He died in 1956.
She was a resident of Kalkaska, Mich., for several years before moving to Meade in 1980. She was a retired school teacher. During her teaching career she taught in several rural one room schools in the Kalkaska area and had taught in the Muskegon area before finishing her career at Sault Sainte Marie, Mich.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Ladies Missionary League, both of Meade. She was also a Sunday school teacher, Youth Leader and was Den Mother for the local Cub Scouts.
Survivors include one son, Arthur "Art" Grisham and his wife, Bonnie, Canton, New York; one daughter, Mary Ryckman and her husband, Ron, Meade; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; Harold, Paul, Loyal, Clyde and Walter Fudge; two sisters, Oma Tice and Joyce Redrup.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Wolfe Funeral Home Chapel in Kalkaska, Mich., with the pastor Steve Brower presiding.
Burial will be at the Excelsior Cemetery
in rural Kalkaska, Mich.

LEDA G. (KLOTZ) NEEL GOLOBAY
MEADE ญญ Leda G. (Klotz) Neel Golobay, 98, died Friday August 22, 2003, at the Lone Tree Compassionate Care Center in Meade.
She was born Oct. 16,1904, to Charley H. Klotz and Abigal Hosley Klotz in Hays.
She married Charles Roscoe Neel May 27, 1927, in Meade. He died July 18, 1940.
She then married William J. Golobay Oct. 8, 1946, in Leavenworth. He died Dec. 21, 2001.
She worked in the butcher shop at an Ideal Food Store then became a homemaker.
She was baptized on Oct. 16, 1910, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Uneda. She was confirmed and received into communicant memberaship with St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church on April 18, 1920. She was a member of Saint John Lutheran Church in Meade.
Survivors include, one son, Lloyd L. Neel and his wife, Betty M. Neel, Pampa, Texas; one daughter, Donna Lee (Neel) Holmes and her husband, Clifford C., Andrews, Texas; one brother, John H. Klotz, Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Katherine Virginia (Klotz) Borchers, Meade; two sister-in-laws, Josie Bell (Byrd) Klotz, Meade, and Juanita (Golobay) Faidley, Coats; one brother-in-law, Wayne Faidley, Coats; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Bradford Neel; five brothers, Reinard, Harold, Carl, Leo and Norman Klotz; and four sisters, Alma McCullough, Agnes Cordes, Viola Cure and Edith Cordes.
Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church in Meade with the Reverend Lynn E. Spencer presiding.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery
in Meade.
