BENJAMIN C. BOLING
TROY, Mo. Benjamin C. "Ben" Boling, 89, Smyrna, Ga., a former Liberal resident, died Friday, May 2, 2003, at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy, while visiting his son.
He was born July 5, 1913, to James M. and Mary B. (DeWeese) Boling in Mullinville.
He married Oma A. Vaughn July 2, 1932, in Syracuse. She died Aug. 27, 1997.
He attended and graduated from Liberal High School in 1932. He moved to Wichita and was an experimental engineer for Boeing Co. for 30 years, retiring Aug. 1, 1970.
He then worked for Parr Manufacturing Co. in Des Moines, Iowa, and later worked as a truck engine mechanic for a Peterbuilt dealership in Atlanta.
He was a member of the Executive CLub at Boeing, the IOOF Lodge in Liberal, and vice president of the resident council at Ambassador of Del Mar Garden Home.
He was a member of Gateway Christian Church in Springfield, Mo.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Ben C. Boling and wife, Elaine, Troy, and Jan Boling and wife, Sharlotte, Woodstock, Ga.; two daughters, Joyce J. Verser and husband, Aubrey, Marietta, Ga., and the Rev. H. Yvaughn Boling, Dacula, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles Boling; and one sister, Hazel Light.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller CHapel in Liberal with the Revs. Paul Boling, David Boling and Scott Isom presiding.
Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery
in Liberal.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. until service time Wednesday at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.

BILLY L. HALE
SATANTA Billy Lee Hale, 76, Satanta, died Monday, May 5, 2003, in a farm related accident.
He was born Aug. 12, 1926, to Henry O. and Cynthia (Axton) Hale in Collinsville, Okla.
He married Geraldine Evelyn Ables April 12, 1949, in Benton, Ark. She died Nov. 12, 1976.
He then married Gail Bodine Augerot Jan. 15, 1977, in Satanta. She died May 18, 2002.
He was a retired conductor for AT and SF Railroad. He owned Hale Tree Trimming for many years.
He served on the Satanta City Council for several years.
He was a member of United Methodist Church in Satanta.
His hobbies included fishing and taking care of his ranch in Jay, Okla.
Survivors include four sons, Kenneth L. Hale and wife, Pat, LaJunta, Colo., Henry L. Hale and wife, LaVonne, Satanta, Bill D. Hale, St. Helens, Ore., and Jeffrey A. Hale and wife, Kathy, Scappoose, Ore.; two step-daughters, Beverly Wasinger and husband, Robby, Canon City, Colo., and Blenna Hoenig and husband, Robert, Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Russell Hale, Calif., and Ted Hale, Okla.; one sister, Neva Webb, Pryor, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles Hale and Tom Hale; and one half-sister, Garnett Jones.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church in Satanta with the Rev. Jeff Miller presiding.
Burial will be at Dudley Township Cemetery
in Satanta.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Haskell County Funeral Home in Sublette.
LARRY S. SINCLAIR
KISMET Larry Scot Sinclair, 42, Denver, and former Kismet resident, died Monday May 5, 2003, in Denver.
He was born July 13, 1960, to Larry Clair and Shirley (Vanderpool) Sinclair in Meade.
He was raised around the Kismet area and graduated from Southwestern Heights High School.
He was a gas field worker for a pipeline company.
His hobbies included motor cycles, fishing, hunting, and visiting with family.
Survivors include two sisters, Virginia Howard and husband, James, Hugoton, and Carolyn Deacon and husband, Robert, Kismet; several uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Inurnment will be conducted at a later date.
Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton is in charge of arrangements.
BEULAH H. HUXMAN
ELKHART Beulah Helen Huxman, 87, died May 5, 2003, at Morton County Care Center in Elkhart.
She was born MArch 10, 1916, to Charles and Margery (Rowe) Conkright in Hoisington.
She married Edgar J. Huxman Sept. 14, 1935, in Wakeeney. He died Aug. 20, 1974.
She spent her early years at Arnold, where she moved with her family to the family farm. She graduated from high school in 1934.
She obtained her teaching certificate and taught several years in a one-room country school.
She was a homemaker.
She had worked for Arnold Grade School as a cook, the First National Bank in Ransom, and as a nurses aide at the care center in Ransom.
She moved to Elkhart in her later years.
She was a member of Arnold United Methodist Church and First Church of God in Elkhart.
Her hobbies included traveling, playing cards, playing dominoes, bridge, family reunions, and spending time with family and grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Gary Huxman and wife, Ann, Newton; one daughter, Vada Farrington and husband, Stout, Elkhart; two sisters, vera Jean Huxman, Arnold, and Maxine Giess, Ransom; one sister-in-law, Virginia Conkright, Ransom; four grandchildren, Todd Huxman and wife, Carla, Theron Huxman and wife, Debbie, all of Hooker, Okla., Brad Farrington and wife, Charlotte, Snook, Texas, and Joan Nyc and husband, Ed, Smithville, Texas; three step-grandchildren, Robert Fink and wife, Rita, Centralia, Mo., Tricia Davis and husband, Mark, Wichita, and Gerald Schantz, Nevada; 13 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one step-great-great-grandchild; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Orval Conkright; and one grandson, Travis Farrington.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Church of God in Elkhart with the Pastor John Morden presiding.
Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. at Arnold Cemetery
in Arnold.

MARVIN L. HARLOW
SATANTA Marvin L. Harlow, 87, Satanta, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Haskell County Funeral Home in Sublette.
JUSTIN T. MARTIN
SCOTT CITY Justin T. Martin, 33, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at Wesley Medical City in Wichita.
He was born March 31, 1970 to Lester D. Martin and Cheryl K. France in Hays.
He resided in Scott City from 1971 to 1988, where he graduated from Scott City Community High School.
He moved to Clarendon, Texas, to attend Clarendon College, where he earned a ranch and feedlot degree in 1989. He transferred to Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Okla., where he graduated in 1993.
He worked as a salesman for Kenworth in Liberal.
He was a member of 4-H Club, Little Britches Rodeo, FFA, KJQHA, and AQHA, all in Scott City.
He was a member of First Christian Church in Scott City.
Survivors include his parents; one brother, Dallas Martin, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and his grandparents, Eldon and Anna Mae Martin, Attica, and Arthur Huseman, Scott City.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Catherine Huseman and Velma Huseman.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Scott City with the Rev. John Warring presiding.
Burial will be at Scott County Cemetery
in Scott City.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.

REV. DEAN E. GLEASON
WICHITA Rev. Dean Edwin Gleason, 82, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, in Wichita.
He married Evelyn Light, of Liberal, in 1939. She died.
He married Gleam Thomas, of Wichita. She survives.
He graduated from Liberal High School. He earned a BA degree from Southwestern College, and a master's of theology from Illif School of Theology, Denver.
He served as a minister in Kansas West Conference from 1940 to 1987. Kansas Communities he ministered were Burden, Marion, Plainville, Hutchinson, McPherson and Wichita.
He served as director of development for Kansas Wesleyan in Salina, and District Superintendent for the Dodge City District.
He was a charter trustee for the Board of Health Ministry in Hutchinson.
Survivors include sons, Monty Gleason, Wichita, Schyler Gleason, Seattle; Glora Welborn, Norman, Okla., Jan Morisseau, Las Vegas, and Jeffrey Thomas, Wichita; tow daughters, Deana Gleason, Wichita, and Anita Cyrier, Shawnee Mission; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Garnet Miller.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Wichita.
