DOROTHY M. CLAY
MEADE Dorothy M. Clay, 75, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
She was born June 25, 1927, to Floyd and Anna Yeager Gaskill in Trenton, N.J.
She married Malcolm Clay on Oct. 2, 1944, in Trenton. He survives.
She was a homemaker, and worked for several local businesses.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Meade, and former member of Rebekah Lodge in Fowler.
Other survivors include one daughter, Beverly J. Stubblefield, Fowler; three brothers, John Gaskill, St. Marys, Pa., Floyd Gaskill, Painter, Va., and Bill Gaskill, Trenton; one sister, Wilmina Voorhees, Trenton; two grandchildren, Tina Marie Lee, Plainville, and Mitchell Shane Stubblefield, Fowler; and three great-grandchildren, Derek, Jacob, and Cierra Stubblefield.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann F. McNemer and Ida Roberts.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Meade with the Rev. Harry Fink presiding.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery
in Meade.
Friends may call from 1-7 p.m. today at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.

GEORGE R. ZIRKLE
George R. "Buddy" Zirkle, 60, died Friday, April 25, 2003, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born May 29, 1942, to Barney and Esther (Miller) Zirkle in Gate, Okla.
He married Mary Lamatsch May 18, 1963, in Dubuque. She survives.
He graduated high school in Gate.
He has been a resident of Liberal for 33 years.
He served in the U.S. Marines from 1966 to 1969 during Vietnam.
He owned and operated his ranch, and worked for Purina Mills for the past 31 years.
He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal.
Other survivors include his mother, Gate; one son, Michael Zirkle and wife, Tracy, Greenwich, Conn.;one daughter, Gerise Ann Zirkle, Liberal; and one sister, Joyce DeWitt and husband, Eldon, Gate.
He was preceded in death by his father, and one sister, Verdie Kost.
Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal.
Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Father Patrick A. Keys presiding.
Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery
in Liberal with Military honors by the U.S. Marines.
Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.

ALEXIA M. OROZCO
Alexia Marie Orozco, 1-month-old, died April 26, 2003, at Children's Hospital in Denver.
She was born March 23, 2003, to Jorge Orozco and Sonja Zamudio in Liberal.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church (15th and Calhoun) in Liberal with the Father Patrick Keyes presiding.
Burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery
in Liberal.

RALPH J. HAMMOCK
Ralph J. Hammock, 62, Liberal, died Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born July 19, 1940, to Jesse J. and Flora D. (Morgan) Hammock in Willifred, Ark.
He married Faye Trivitt May 21, 1960, in Hardy, Ark. She survives.
He grew up and attended school in Hardy. He moved to Great Bend in 1964, where he was employed with Western Testing. He was transferred to Liberal in 1972.
He worked several years as a production superintendent for Malory-Mahoney Production Co.
In July 1981, he started and operated Ralph's Hot Oil Service until his death.
His hobbies included fishing and visiting with his children.
Other survivors include two sons, Linnie Hammock and wife, Bobbie, and Tim Hammock and companion, Shawna Lee, all of Liberal; one brother, Phillip Hammock and wife, Darlene, Cave City, Ark.; one sister, Delthafleta Smith and husband, Jesse, Hardy; five grandchildren, Jesse Lee Hammock and wife, Kristy, Angela Matson and husband Justin, Keely Mobly and husband, Clint, Joshua Hammock, and Carl Hammock; four great-grandchildren, Desirey Mobly, Azure Matson, Makayla Jenson, and Isaac Hammock.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. today at Miller Chapel in Liberal with the Rev. Jerry Odel presiding.
Inurnment will be at Turkey Pin Cemetery
in Hardy, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society in care of Miller Mortuary, 908 N. Lincoln Ave, Liberal, KS 67901.
TOM G. SHELDON
PLAINS Tom G. Sheldon, 44, died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at hie residence in Wichita.
He was born Aug. 26, 1958, to Robert "Bob" L. and Mildred "Mickey" (Ruder) Sheldon in Meade.
He married Leone Bortz April 12, 1980, in Plains.
He was a member of Westside Alcoholics Anonymous in Wichita.
Survivors include two sons, Preston Sheldon, Manhattan, and Tyler Sheldon, Plains; three brothers, Robert "Bob" Sheldon Jr., Rolla, William "Bill" Sheldon, Hutchinson, and Jerry Sheldon, Plains; three sisters, Kathy Novinger, Meade, Sharon Ratzlaff, Plains, and Jane Berry, Texhoma, Texas; his parents, Plains; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Plains Christian Church in Plains with the Pastor Jim Dunn presiding.
Burial will be at Plains Cemetery
in Plains.
Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.

ELVA B. BEESON-NAAB
Elva B. Beeson-Naab, 77, of Liberal, died Friday, April 18, 2003, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.
She was born Dec. 31, 1925, to James G. and Hattie M. (Quinnet) White in Red Rock, Okla.
She married Bill Beeson on Feb. 2, 1976, in Perryton, Texas. He died May 6, 1982.
She married Mike Naab on April 23, 1983 in Liberal. He died Sept. 1, 1999.
She was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Southwest Medical Center Auxillary in Liberal.
Survivors include one son, Scott Beeson and wife, Lisa, Liberal; one brother, Chester White, Wakefield; and three grandsons.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and four sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at a later date.
Miller Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
