LOIS P. VON HEMEL
MANTER Lois Pauline Von Hemel, 83, died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at Southwest Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 5, 1919, to Ross and Josephine (Goodboo) Watson in Wabash, Ind.
She married Henry Von Hemel on Dec. 11, 1939, in Syracuse. He preceded her in death.
She attended Seneca Indian School in Wyandotte, Okla.
She owned and operated the Manter Cafe in Manter.
Her hobbies included square dancing, horse racing, and was Pioneer Day Queen.
She was a member of United Methodist Church in Manter.
Survivors include two sisters, Mildred Walker, Manter, and Joan King, Turpin, Okla.; five brothers, Paul Thomas, and Billy Dale Watson, both of Miami, Okla., James Farrell, Albuqurque, N.M., Jerry Watson, Elgin, Okla., and Jack C. Watson, Holly, Colo.; one sister-in-law, Velda "Butch" Creamer, Manter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Clorine Watkins, Betty Jean Watson, and Alta Von Hemel; two brothers, Ross Watson Jr., and Bobby Lee Watson.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church in Manter with the Rev. Kevin Seuser presiding.
Burial will be at Stanton County Cemetery
in Johnson.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson. Family will greet friends Sunday evening at Manter Cafe in Manter.

FORREST L. CAMERON
ELKHART Forrest L. "Joe" Cameron, 77, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.
He was born May 25, 1925, to Ora F. and Velma (Burns) Cameron in Enid, Okla.
He married Helen Barr on July 23, 1945, in Alva, Okla. She survives.
He graduated from high school in Enid.
He worked as a custom cutter for 25 years, and he has been owner/operator of Cameron Implement for the past 37 years.
His hobbies included playing cards, and reading Louis LaMour books.
He was an Elkhart resident for 42 years.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Church of God in Elkhart with the Pastor John Morden presiding.

JERRY L. SULLIVAN
ULYSSES Jerry L. Sullivan, 74, died Friday, April 18, 2003, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.
He was born Dec. 10, 1928, to Jeremiah P. and Goldie A. (Warner) Sullivan in Hickok.
He married Phyllis Torline on Oct. 13, 1953.
He married Leta M. Browder on Aug. 1, 1987, in Colorado Springs, Colo. She survives.
He graduated from Grant County Rural School in 1947.
He worked in the family grain business, and was a rancher.
He was a member of Mary Queen of Peach Catholic Church, and was a fourth degree knight. He served on the Board of Directors of Sullivan, Inc., Grant County Bank, St. Mary's of the Plains, and the Grant County Board. He was involved in the rodeo, and was a member of the PRCA.
Other survivors include, three sons, Rev. Tim Sullivan, Hillsboro, Barry Sullivan, Overland Park, and Keric Sullivan, Ulysses; six daughters, Michele Seeley, Bartlesville, Okla., Marieta Hauser, Marianne Hamer, and Maureen Meierhoff, all of Ulysses, Marcia Sullivan, Santa Fe, N.M., and Mona Hooper, New Brockton, Ala.; two step-sons, Jerry Morrell, and Monte Morrell, both of Pinedale, Wy.; one step-daughter, Tammy Burdzinski, Yorkville, Ill.; two brothers, Dr. William R. Sullivan, El Paso, Texas, and Michael P. Sullivan, Las Cruces, N.M.; 23 grandchildren; and 11 step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dr. Tom Sullivan and James H. Sullivan; two sisters, Florence Sullivan George and Peggy Sullivan.
Celebration of life service will be at 7 p.m. today at Grant County Civic Center, south room.
Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses with the Rev. Louis Hoang presiding.
Burial will follow at Ulysses Cemetery.
Friends may call until 5 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.

MIKE REID
MINNEOLA Mike Reid, 38, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, in an auto accident in rural Clark County.
He was born on May 29, 1964, to Stanley L. and Betty S. (Esplund) Reid in Meade.
He worked for Minneola Coop for 17 years.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Minneola.
He was a lifetime Minneola resident.
Survivors include, his parents; two sisters, Genevieve McCune and husband, Marcel, Minneola, and Marie Walters and husband, Logan, Booneville, Miss.; one nephew, Glen; one niece, Amanda; and numerous aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Edith Esplund, and Pearl Barber.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Minneola Grade School Gymnasium in Minneola with the Rev. Robert P. Seth and Rev. Kip Ryherd presiding.
Burial will be at Appleton Township Cemetery
near Minneola.
Friends may call until 7 p.m. Monday at Minnis Mortuary in Minneola.

EDDIE L. WISE
ULYSSES Eddie Lewis Wise, 54, died Monday, April 21, 2003, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
He was born Sept. 4, 1948, to James Windol and Otehka P. (Caudle) Wise, in Walsh, Colo.
He married Wanita G. Lucas on Feb. 18, 1978, in Ulysses. She survives.
He worked for British Petroleum, and also served in the Vietnam War.
His hobbies included coaching boys and girl's basketball, and spending time with his family.
He was a member of Free Will Baptist Church in Ulysses, and Charles B. Hart Post No. 79, also in Ulysses.
Other survivors include, two sons, Jeremiah Windol Wise, and Jason James Wise, both of Ulysses; one daughter, Jessica Evelyn Otehka Wise, Ulysses; his mother, Otehka P. Wise, Ulysses; three brothers, James "Buddy" Wise and wife, Samma, and Larry Joe Wise and wife, Linda, both of Ulysses, and Michael R. Wise, Midall, Okla.; one sister, Jerilyn Kaye Foncannon, Centerville, La.; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; his nephews, James David and Robert Wayne Wise; his nieces, Debbie St. Germain and Michele Wise; and his great-niece, Madison Vardeman.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Church of Christ in Ulysses with the Pastors James Green, Warren Baldwin, and Mike Holman presiding.
Graveside services will be conducted by Charles B. Hart Post No. 79 at Ulysses Cemetery
in Ulysses.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. today, Thursday, and Friday at Grand County Funeral Home in Ulysses.

HAROLD H. STEBENS
BOERNE, Texas Harold Hugh Stebens, 86, died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at Riverview Care Center in Boerne.
He was born March 9, 1917, to Fred and Jessie (Miller) Stebens.
He married Geneva Martens on Sept. 7, 1941. She survives.
He was a farmer for many years, before retiring in 1979.
He was a former resident of the Oklahoma Panhandle.
Other survivors include, one daughter, Jodell Parham and husband, Barry, San Antonio, Texas; two grandchildren, Jon Parham and wife, America, Humble, Texas, and Traci Sheerin and husband, Jack, Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas; and one great-grandson, Harold Parham, Spanaway, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Helen Smith and Vivian Schroeder.
Graveside services were on April 19 at Boerne Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Edensberger Funeral Home in Boerne.
