JUANITA D. BLACKBURN

HUGOTON ญญ Juanita Delores Blackburn, 62, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center on the St. Francis Campus in Wichita.

She was born Oct. 11, 1940, to Manuel and Lola (Armijo) Roybal Sr. in Clayton, N.M.

She married Larry W. Blackburn Sept. 19, 1998, in Satanta. He survives.

She worked as a professional home cleaner, and was also a homemaker.

Her hobbies included cooking, writing poetry, and target shooting.

She was a member of My Father's House in Hugoton.

She was a lifetime resident of the Hugoton and Guymon area.

Other survivors include, three sons, Charles Ray Kerbo and wife, Nina, Guymon, Okla., Jack Kerbo and wife, Corina, Lyndale Kerbo, both of Mountainair, N.M.; three daughters, Lola Kerbo and Marcia Kerbo, Liberal, and Alecia Kerbo, Hugoton; one brother, Manuel Roybal Jr. and wife, Penny, Guymon, Okla.; three sisters, Marcia Ramirez, Guymon, Lynda Garcia, Canyon, Texas, Georgia Delayo, Guymon; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ernest, Ralph and Gilbert Roybal; and one sister, Dorothy Roybal.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Church of God in Hugoton with the Rev. Donald Roybal, the Pastors Keith and Pam Peachey, and the Pastor Bill Vincent presiding.

Burial will be at Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton.

Memorials are suggested to My Father's House in care of Paul's Funeral Home, Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.

MARGERIE HAGERMAN

ULYSSES ญญ Margerie Hagerman, 74, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses.

She was born Oct. 29, 1928, to Julius Abner and Velma Antnett (Gregg) Giles in Joppa, Ala.

She married Frederick Hagerman on March 28, 1947, in Dodge City. He died July 22, 1956.

She graduated from high school in Satanta.

She worked as a secretary for the Columbia Carbon Company for 12 years, and also for Dr. Cora Drake, and Marvin's Farm Equipment.

Her hobbies included spending time with family, crocheting and embroidering.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Ulysses.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Hagerman and wife, Kathy, Ulysses, Terry Hagerman and wife, Jane, Leander, Texas; two daughters, Debra Rinehart and husband, Gary, Mansfield, Texas, Freda Wooten and husband, Rick, Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Orval "Bud" Giles and wife, Jackie, Fort Worth, Texas, Clyde Giles and wife, Betty, Satanta; three sisters, Mary V. Gibson, Guymon, Okla., Roberta Lewis and husband, Vic, Rolla, Anita Brown and husband, Troy, Sublette; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two step great-great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, J.A. Giles Jr., Aubra Giles; one sister, Jettie Lea Giles; and one granddaughter, Molly Annette Morava.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Church of Christ in Ulysses with the Pastor Warren Baldwin presiding.

Burial will be at Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, and from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Grant County Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to Church of Christ College Scholarship in care of Grant County Funeral Home, 218 S. Main, Ulysses, KS 67880.

THOMAS V. DAVIS

FORT SMITH, Ariz. ญญ Thomas Vernon Davis, 56, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at his sister's home in Fort Smith.

He was born Oct. 14, 1946, in Liberal.

He graduated from Hooker High School in 1964, and spent the last year having a reunion with classmates through cards and email.

He worked as an auctioneer, horseman, businessman, and was past mayor of Hooker, Okla.

His hobbies included jokes, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his mother, Wynelle Huddleston Mertens, Fort Smith; his father, T.J. Davis, Hope, Ariz.; his children, Mark Davis and wife, Tiffany, Hooker, Micah Davis and fiance, Brittany Baldwin, both of Weatherford, Okla., Kaley Martens and husband, Wiley, Covington, Okla., Beth Wilson and husband, Mack, Fort Smith; one niece, Francie Wilson, Fort Smith; two nephews, Jared Wilson and wife, Cordy, Fort Smith, and Dustin Wilson, Stillwater, Okla.; one special cousin, Sue Lackey , Murrietta, Calif.; numerous other relatives.

Graveside memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hooker Cemetery in Hooker with Don DeWolfe of Broken Arrow, Okla. presiding.

Memorials are suggested to hospice of choice in care of Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.

ROSEBELLE GIBBS

WICHITA ญญ Rosebelle "Rosy" (Blackman) Gibbs, 80, died April 9, 2003, in Wichita.

She was born March 25, 1923, in Liberal, Missouri.

She married Kenneth A. "Bud" Gibbs in 1947. Bud and Rosy lived in Liberal, Kan., from 1959 until Bud's death in February 2000. Bud and Rosy shared a love of nature and travel and were active members in the Liberal Pancakers Campers Club. Bud and Rosy were also devout churchgoers, and a memorial in Rosy's namehas been established at the First United Methodist Church at Third and Grant in Liberal, KS, 67901.

She graduated from Pittsburg State University, and taught high school business classes in Kincaid, Kan.

Rosy resided at Cottonwood Point in Augusta during 2001, and at the Kansas Masonic Home in Wichita, from 2002 to 2003.

A memorial service will be held at the Kansas Masonic Home Chapel at Seneca and Maple, Wichita, Kan., at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 11.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 12, at 1:30 p.m.

Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law Gary Gibbs and Angela Howell-Gibbs of Wichita, and Tony and Theresa Gibbs of Paducah, Ky.; daughter-in-law Glenna Gibbs; grandson and grand-daughter-in-law Aaron and LeeAnn Gibbs of Wichita; grandson and grand-daughter-in-law Eric and Heather Gibbs of Lee's Summit, Mo.; granddaughter Haley Gibbs of Paducah, Ky.; granddaughter Lindy Gibbs of Wichita; great-grandson Austin and great-granddaughter Grace.

Preceded in death by her husband, Bud, and mother, Bessie.

Rosy was blessed with many, many friends, and will be greatly missed.

ODELL F. ROGERS

Odell F. Rogers, 74, of Liberal, died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at his home.

He was born Sept. 16, 1928, to Oscar O. and Lydia A. (Dorough) Rogers in Paris, Ark.

He married El Fleta J. Furnish on Dec. 22, 1949, in Amarillo, Texas. She survives.

He was a U.S. Veteran of WWII, serving in the army. He worked at National Beef Packing for eight years, and later was a driller for Dunman Drilling Company for ten years, retiring in 1988.

His hobbies included bowling, fishing, watching football, playing his guitar, gardening, and spending time with family.

He was a member of the V.F.W. Lane Day Post No. 3166 of Liberal.

Other survivors include five sons, Sandy Rogers and wife, Catherine, Evanston, Wyo, Jerry Rogers, Liberal, Dennis Rogers, Kevin Rogers and wife, Shawna, and Chris Rogers and wife, Julie, Hemet, Calif.; two daughters, Dorinda Griblin, Liberal, and Kimberly Lozar and husband, Kenneth, Ulysses; four brothers, Oren Rogers and wife, Thelma, Wellington, Texas, John Rogers and wife, Pat, Amarillo, Texas, Wiley Rogers and wife, Jill, Amarillo, and Oliver Rogers and wife, Nelda, Gainsville, Texas; four sisters, Hazel Johnson, Oklahoma City, Fern Bell, Commanche, Okla., LaWanna Sullins and husband, Larry, Commanche, Laura Woodruft and husband, David, Elk City, Okla.; 25 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters; and two sons, Monte Rogers and Stephen Rogers.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Miller Chapel with the Rev. Jim Monroe presiding.

Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, and from 1-8 p.m. Sunday, and from 8 a.m. until service time Monday at Miller Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Odell F. Rogers Memorial Fund, in care of Miller Mortuary, 908 North Lincoln, Liberal, KS 67905.

MARGARITO RODRIGUEZ

Margarito "Lucky" Rodriguez, 80, of Liberal, died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at Southwest Medical Center.

He was born July 7, 1922, to Separino and Ambrosio Lovato Rodriguez in Brilliante, N.M.

He married Gladys Hermit on Sept. 14, 1958, in Las Vegas, Nev. She died July 2, 2000.

He attended Washington school in Liberal, and later in New Mexico.

He worked as a welder at Tradewinds Industries, and later at National Beef, retiring in 1997.

He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church.

Survivors include, three sons, David Rodriguez and wife, Lisa, and Danny Rodriguez, all of Liberal, Donnie Rodriguez, Eugene, Ore.; one daughter, Patty Stegman and husband, Mark, Liberal; two step-sons, Jerry Turley and wife, Rose, Garden City, and Bill Setters and wife, Sandy, Texas; three step-daughters, Jo Ann Petrey and husband, Pete Hobbs, N.M., Sharon Hartman and husband, Bob, Lincoln City, Ore., Paula Price and husband, John, Irving, Texas; 24 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; several brothers and sisters; and one son.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Chapel with the Rev. Rex Petty presiding.

Burial will be at a later date at Liberal Cemetery.

VERTREES C. FRICK

Vertrees C. Frick, 82, of Liberal, died Friday, April 11, 2003, at Wheatridge Park Care Center.

She was born April 4, 1921, to William V. and Harriet (Barry) Cole in Pensacola, Fla.

She married Jacob Frick Jr. on Dec. 22, 1943, in Jacksonville, Fla. He died Nov. 22, 2002.

She served during WWII as a WAC in the U.S. Army Air Force.

She was a retired clerk for the Nebraska State Department of Revenue.

She was a member of First Church of God, and the Senior Center's Rhythm Band.

Survivors include, one daughter, Katherine L. Harvey and husband, Stephen, Liberal; two brothers, William B. Cole, Galveston, Texas, and Ralph E. Cole, Pomona Park, Fla.; two grandsons, Capt. Jonathan L. Harvey and wife, Rosemary, South Korea, and Matthew Harvey, Wichita.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Wuamett; and one grandson, Christopher Harvey.

Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Church of God with the Rev. David Parker presiding.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorials are suggested to First Church of God or Liberal Senior Citizens Center in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd, Liberal, KS 67901.
