GEORGE W. MCIVER
SUBLETTE ญญ George William McIver, 65, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at Satanta District Hospital in Satanta.
He was born Feb. 2, 1938, to Oscar and Alice (Harlow) McIver in Satanta.
He married Marilyn Marie Dunham July 2, 1960, in Satanta. She survives.
He was a mechanic for Allis-Chalmers Farm Supply in Sublette for 36 years. He owned and operated McIver's Used Farm Equipment for 14 years before retirement.
His hobbies included playing dominoes, and his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Christian Church, AA, and NRA, all of Sublette.
He was a lifetime resident of Sublette.
Other survivors include, three daughters, Jeanette K. McPherson and husband, Randy, Garden City, Clara S. Walker and husband, Rusty, Sublette, Sarah L. McIver, Garden City; four brothers, James McIver and wife, Evelyn, Buhler, Mark McIver and wife, Lavonia, Satanta, Walter McIver and wife, Clara, Cheney, Vernon "Corky" McIver and wife, Esther, Alva, Okla.; one sister, Crystal Parton and husband, David, Satanta; one brother-in-law, Don Hazelton, El Dorado Springs, Mo.; four grandchildren, Sarah Walker, Oskaloosa, Scott Walker, Ellsworth, Zachary Walker, Sublette, and Ashley Blanchard, Garden City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lester McIver; and one sister, Ella Marie Hazelton.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chriatian Church in Sublette with the Minister David Erwin presiding.
Burial will be at Haskell County Cemetery
in Sublette.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Haskell County Funeral Home in Sublette.

ZELPHA J. MCGURK
GREAT BEND ญญ Zelpha Jean McGurk, 73, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at Cherry Village Nursing Home in Great Bend.
She was born Aug. 29, 1929, to Amos B. and Fern E. (Scott) Clark in Great Bend.
She married William McGurk in 1948, in Pratt. He died in November of 1983.
She worked as area manager for San, Inc. in Wichita.
She was a member of Episcopal Church and Beta Sigma Phi Social Sorority.
Survivors include, one son, William Michael "Mike" McGurk, Great Bend; one daughter, Karen Ochs, Hutchinson; and one brother, Jon Clark, Dover, Del.; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Patrick Alan McGurk; and two brothers, Allan and Raford Clark.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend with the Pastor Dave Carlson presiding.
Inurnment will be at Larned Cemetery
in Larned.

MARTIN T. HENDRICKS SR.
ELKHART ญญ Martin T. "Marty" Hendricks Sr., 61, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla.
He was born Nov. 11, 1941, to Theodore M. and Anna B. (Bosch) Hendricks in Killdeer, N.D.
He married Agnes Forbes June 3, 1968, in Manning, N.D. She survives.
He married Maxine Acker Nov. 11, 1988 in Perryton, Texas. She survives.
He attended school in Manning. He was a former resident of Minneapolis, Minn., prior to moving to Elkhart in 1967, where he had resided until moving three months ago to Enid, Okla.
He worked in the oilfield and he was a farmer.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
His hobbies included working as a mechanic, dancing, taking long drives in the country, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Other survivors include one son, Martin T. "Ted" Hendricks Jr., Enid; one daughter, Starla Anderson, Elkhart; one step-son, Curtis Milburn, Elkhart; four step-daughters, Robin Lane, Corpus Christi, Texas, Kim Gibson, Boise City, Okla., Dorothy Wade, Cherokee, Okla., and Roseanna Winner, Amarillo, Texas; one brother, Roger Hendricks, Gillette, Wyo.; one sister, Beverly Olson, Cheyenne, N.D.; five grandchildren; 20 step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Kenny Hendricks; one sister, Loretta Kolar; and one step-granddaughter, Savannah Ketchum.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Elkhart with the Father Michael McAndrew presiding.
Burial will take place at a later date.

ELMER L. FENN
GREAT BEND ญญ Elmer L. Fenn, 75, of Great Bend, died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend.
He was born Aug. 22, 1927, to Ernest A. and Katherine (Drehle) Fenn in Barton County.
He married Louise E. Behrens June 13, 1954, in Wichita. She survives.
He graduated from Great Bend High School in 1945, and he had been a resident of Great Bend most his life.
He owned and operated Fenn's Paint and Wallpaper Store, and he was an engineer for Petrolog.
He served in the U.S. Army's 22nd Regimental Headquarters Co., 4th Infantry Division from Oct. 1950 to Sept. 1952.
He served on the Advisory Board of Shafer Memorial Art Gallery, and his artwork has been displayed Baker Art Center in Liberal, Deines Cultural Center in Russell, and Shafer Arts.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Other survivors include one son, Mathew A. Fenn, Liberal,; and one sister, Thelma Hipp, Great Bend.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Bend with the Rev. David E. Carlson presiding.
Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend.
Friends may call until 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

RUBY STEVENSON
DECORAH, Iowa ญญ Ruby Stevenson, 96, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at Aase Haugen Home in Decorah.
She was born July 6, 1906, to Charlie D. and Adeline (Teeters) Henry in Watonga, Okla.
She married Raymond Allen Stevenson in June of 1924. He preceded her in death.
She graduated from Watonga High School in 1924.
She worked as a beautician, and owned and operated her own shop in Hooker until 1979.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hooker, and Grace Fellowship Church in Decorah.
Survivors include, one daughter-in-law, Norma Stevenson, Decorah; four grandchildren, Martha Todd Meyers and husband, Robert, Aurora, Colo., Carter Simmons, Joplin, Miss., Greg Cook and wife, Dawn, Mesa, Ariz., Christi Cook, Rochester, Minn.; four great-grandchildren, Brandon Keither and Jordan Ray Meyers, Jessica Carling and husband, C.J., Matthew Cook; and one great-great-grandson, Jason Preston Craig; numerous nephews and nieces.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Donna; and one son, Raymond; three brothers; and three sisters.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hooker Cemetery
in Hooker with the Brother Ron Mimms presiding.
Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker.

FERN E. WOLFE
MEADE ญญ Fern Elizabeth Wolfe, 90, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at West Anaheim Extended Care Hospital in Anaheim, Calif.
She was born Nov. 15, 1912, to Asa Eugene and Goldie Grace (Keltner) Ford in rural Meade.
She married Leonard Merwin Wolfe Nov. 27, 1933. He died Nov. 27, 1984.
She graduated from Meade High School in 1930.
She recived her teaching certificate and taught all grades in rural country school. She later worked for Wolfe Motor in the accounting department. She also worked as a teacher's assistant until retirement.
She was a member of Fairview Community Church, Peninsula seniors, LA Wheelman, Sierra Club, and Palos Verdes Youth Hostel, all of California.
Survivors include, one son, Dr. Norman T. Wolfe, Villa Park, Calif.; two daughters, Dr. Carol Wolfe Konek, Wichita, and Linda Wolfe Mickelson, Berkley, Calif.; three brothers, Earl Ford, Monteca, Calif., Don Ford, Destry, Texas, and Glenn Ford, Lubbock, Texas; two sisters, Esther Ford Lett, Fowler, and Joy Ford Davis, Colby; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Elvis Ray, Ray Ford, and Wesley Ford; and one sister, Helen Ford.
Graveside memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Graceland Cemetery
in Meade with the Rev. Susan Green presiding.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery
in Meade.
