CARLOS LEYVA
Carlos Leyva, 37, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born April 1, 1965, to Raymundo and Maria (Juarez) Leyva in Chihuahua, Mexico.
He married Maria Evangelina Olivas May 22, 1993, in Liberal. She survives.
He had been a resident of Liberal for 20 years.
He worked for the City of Liberal Water Department.
Other survivors include two daughters, Jazmin Leyva and Sharon Leyva, of the home; his mother, of Chihuahua; two brothers, David Leyva, Liberal, and Guillermo Leyva, Ft. Worth, Texas; two sisters, Elida Batista, Liberal, and Maria Cruz Leyva de Marquez, Chihuahua.
He was preceded in death by his father; and one sister, Aida Ramos.
Funeral services will be at noon Thursday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel in Liberal with the Pastor Jorge Gutierrez presiding.
Burial will be at Restlawn Cemetery
in Liberal.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal.
EVA M. HERNANDEZ
HENDERSON, Nev. Eva Marie Hernandez, 25, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at her home in Henderson.
She was born Sept. 2, 1977, to Grace E. Walters, in Satanta.
She attended elementary and junior high school in Satanta, before moving to Nevada 11 years ago.
Survivors include her mother, Las Vegas; step-father, Joel Walters, Las Vegas; three brothers, Joshua Hernandez, Windsor, Colo., Adrian Pete Hernandez, Fort Collins, Colo., and Devin Hernandez, Las Vegas; two sisters, Jillian Hernandez, Las Vegas, and Rhiann Hernandez, Fort Collins; grandparents, Joseph Kitowski and wife, Frances, Las Vegas, and C.L. Garrett and wife, Roberta, Liberty.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bunker Chapel in Las Vegas.
Burial was at Memorial Gardens in Las Vegas.

MILFORD D. KOEHN
Milford D. Koehn, 85, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born Dec. 21, 1917, to David H. and Dena (Wedel) Koehn in Kismet.
He married Mae A. Graber Sept. 30, 1939. She survives.
He was a life-time resident of Southwest Kansas, having graduated from Plains High School in 1936. He earned an Associate Degree from Dodge City Community College.
He retired after 30 years in the contracting business.
His hobbies included singing and spending time with family. He also debated and spoke at Dale Carnegie courses, and was a member of the Knife and Fork Club.
He was also a member of First Untied Methodist Church in Liberal.
Other survivors include two sons, Gary L. Koehn and wife, Beth, and Steven R. Koehn, all of Liberal; four granddaughters, Shari Koehn, Susan Koehn, Candice Koehn, all of Liberal, and Amy Marino, Tulsa; one brother-in-law, Eugene L. Graber and wife, Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Erving Koehn, Wichita; and one sister, Margaret Koehn Decker, Boulder, Colo.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Liberal with the Rev. Ken Hathaway presiding.
Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery
in Liberal.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today, and from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday.

HAZEL ST AUBYN
Hazel St Aubyn, 84, of Liberal, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Specialty Hospital in Wichita.
She was born Sept. 16, 1918, to Wayne and Ella (Grice) Booth in Tyrone, Okla.
She married Ralph T. St Aubyn Sept. 14, 1939, in Liberal. He died Dec. 24, 1972.
She graduated from Tyrone High School.
She worked in the manufacturing of bomber planes in World War II, and later as a clerk at Woolworth's Store in Liberal.
Her hobbies included volunteer work for the Salvation Army store and the Mexican Ministry.
She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and toastmasters. She served as clerk on the Seward County Election Board.
Survivors include one son, Tom St Aubyn, Liberal; one daughter, Kathy Hale and husband, Mike, Liberal; two brothers, Robert Brooth, Tyrone, and Ray Booth, Philadelphia, Pa.; three sisters, Mildred Grice and Betty Arthur, Hooker, Okla., and Mary Propius, Los Angeles; three grandchildren, Justin and Miranda Hale and Colleen Gonzalez; two great-grandsons, Miles Gonzalez and Kyler Hale.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael St Aubyn; two brothers; one sister; and one granddaughter, Rhonda St Aubyn.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Prater presiding.
Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 until 11 a.m. Saturday.
MARILYN K. WILLIAMS
HUGOTON Marilyn K. (Alley) Williams, 56, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Chevy Chase Nursing Home in Chicago, Ill.
Survivors include her mother, Bernice Alley, Wichita; four sons, Dwight Alley, Chicago, Deigo Alley, Oklahoma, Vegas Alley, Texas, Anthony Alley, Wichita; two daughters, Nacissa, Oklahoma, Tira, Wichita; two sisters, Joyce Alley and Betty Hodnett, both of Wichita; and two brothers, Ronald Alley, Denver, and Donald Alley, Wichita.
A private family graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hugoton Cemetery
in Hugoton with the Elder Lawrence Johnson presiding.
Burial will be at Hugoton Cemetery
in Hugoton.
ANN CRITES
Ann Crites, 71, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at her home in Liberal.
She had been a Liberal resident for more than one year.
She was born Jan. 20, 1932, to Grover and Rosa (Campbell) Hyde in Caney, Okla.
She married Edgar Crites on Dec. 17, 1949, in Sherman, Texas. He died in December 1993.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include, one son, Roger Crites, Caddo, Okla.; two daughters, Margaret Crites, Atoka, Okla., and Rachel Strickland and husband, Ed, Liberal; one brother, Raymond Ables, Caney; seven sisters, Dorothy Mansell, Lorene Elliott, and Lousette Gossett, all of Atoka, Bess Culpepper and Betty Finch, Montgomery, Ala., Myrtle Kelly, Walker, La., and Vita Kanady, Adkins, Texas; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Atoka Funeral Home Chapel in Atoka, with the Pastor Brewer and the Pastor Vaughn presiding.
Burial will follow at Caney Cemetery
in Caney.

LORENE DORRIS-MORGAN
Lorene M. Dorris-Morgan, 78, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She had been a Liberal resident since 1955.
She was born March 31, 1924, to Edward and Violet (Lloyd) Rogers, in Mammoth Springs, Ark.
She married Earl Dorris June 10, 1941, in Bloomfield, Mo. He died Sept. 29, 1964.
She married Earl Morgan Oct. 7, 1971, in Amarillo, Texas. He died Sept. 30, 1983.
She worked as a nurse's aid at Epworth Hospital in Liberal, and many years as a childcare provider.
She was a member of the Calvary Mennonite Church in Liberal.
Survivors include, two sons, Jack Dorris and wife, Pam, Liberal, James Dorris and wife, Jane, Amarillo; one daughter, Janice Gowens, Liberal; one brother, Lewis Rogers, Homer, Mich.; three sisters, Ann Bowers, Thayer, Mo., Evelyn Haack, Homer, Mich., and Delinda Rogers, Peoria, Ill.; six grandchildren, Rosette Serrano, Shelly Mesa, Tara Hall, Jeffrey Dorris, Monica Dorris, and Gary Pitzer; six great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Oscar, Lloyd, and Delbert.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Mennonite Church in Liberal with the Pastor Ervey Unruh presiding.
Cremation has taken place.

BRADY LAWSON
MARYSVILLE, Mich. Brady Lawson, 22, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at University of Washington Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 24, 1980, in Longmont, Colo.
He graduated from Capitol High School in 2000.
He served in the US Air Force as Crew Chief on F16 fighter aircraft's.
His hobbies included skiing, fishing, hiking, and hunting.
Survivors include, his parents, Marc Korting and wife, Deena, Marysville, and Steve Lawson and wife, Dawn, Lyons, Colo.; fiance, Amy O'Connell, Helena; four sisters, Kirsten Merganthaler, Helena, Kim Lamb, Meridian, Idaho, Calena Lawson and Jacelyn Lawson, Longmount, Colo.; grandparents, Ann Korting, Marysville, Herb Eskildsen and wife, Charlotte, Helena, Louis Lawson and wife, Alice, Florida, Don Hartshorn and wife, Roberta, Liberal; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Helena College of Technology Donaldson Building at 1115 Roberts, Helena MT, with the Father Stephen Brehe presiding.
