BENJAMIN F. REYNOLDS
HUGOTON Benjamin Franklin Reynolds, 94, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton.
He was born March 13, 1908, to "Lee" Levi and Mary Etta (Brower) Reynolds in Stevens County.
He married Mary Louise Brown in 1930. She died in 1939.
He married Mabel Wilson in 1957. She died in 1986.
He was a lifetime resident of Stevens County.
He was retired from Stevens County Weed Department in Hugoton.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Alice Zuk and husband, George, Hutchinson; one daughter-in-law, Karen Reynolds, Hugoton; one step-son, Leonard Wilson, Worland, Wyo.; one brother, Don Reynold and wife, Sarah Etta, Hugoton; four sisters, Edythe Stuart and husband, Albert, Ethyle Reese and husband, Gale, all of Hugoton, Viola Quattlebaum and husband, J.P., Lamar, Colo., and Zola Lynch and husband, Nuel, Rogers, Ariz.; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Benny Lee and James Larry Renolds; step-daughter, Loretta Floyd; five brothers, Glen, Harry, Art, Floyd, Marion "Babe" Reynolds; and one half-sister, Mayme Patton.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Hugoton with the Ministers Jeff Aenk and Robert Bailey presiding.
Burial will be at Hugoton Cemetery
in Hugoton.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton.

TOMMY L. BULLOCK
ULYSSES Tommy Lee Bullock, 61, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at Bob Wilson Memorial Grant County Hospital in Ulysses.
He was born Nov. 4, 1941, to Thurman Hollis and Lousetta (Hampton) Bullock in Satanta.
He was a farm laborer.
His hobbies included playing bingo and dominoes.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Ulysses.
Survivors include one brother, Roy E. Bullock and wife, Kristin, Syracuse; one sister, Janie Loper-Pierce and husband, Charles, Longmont, Colo.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Ulysses with the Minister Barry Durkee presiding.
Burial will be at the Ulysses Cemetery
in Ulysses.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses.

BARBARA J. TRUE
ULYSSES Barbara Jean True, 66, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at Bob Wilson Memorial Grant County Hospital in Ulysses.
She was born Nov. 22, 1934, to Lee and Norma Bates in Nebraska City, Neb.
She married Sanford Dale True Sept. 4, 1979, in Ulysses. He preceded her in death.
She worked for a health care facility in Nebraska.
Her hobbies included cooking, raising a garden, and canning produce.
Survivors include six sons, Darrel Ford and wife, Tonya, Malvern, Ark., Orville Ford, Lincoln, Neb., Gary Ford and wife, Linda, Nehawka, Neb., Michael Ford, Galveston, Texas, Dale Ford and wife, Mildred, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Brian Ford, Lyons, Neb.; four daughters, Linda Wickenkamp and husband, Dale, Ollie, Iowa, Barbie Hampton, Ulysses, Karen Smith and husband, Tom, McCook, Neb., Gail Hubbard, Indianola, Neb.; five sisters, Norma Lee, Papilian, Neb., Shirley Babe, Truth or Consequences, N.M., Nancy Hanes, Oklahoma City, Okla., Marcella Bauers, Kearney, Neb., Patty Hicks, Wahoo, Neb.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Judy Bates.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date by Grant County Funeral Home in Ulysses.

PAUL L. KESSEN
FOWLER Paul Leonard Kessen, 74, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born May 16, 1928, to Paul and Helen Kessen in Spearville.
He married Gertrude Knoeber on Aug. 3, 1950, in Spearville. She survives.
He was a retired farmer and stockman, living most of his life on a farm northwest of Fowler.
He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fowler.
Other survivors include one son, Kenny Kessen and wife, Lynette, Dodge City; four daughters, Karla Walker and husband, Wayne, Frisco, Texas, Jo Chance and husband, Kendall, and Patty Lee, both of Wichita, Karen McDowell and husband, Dennis, Fowler; two brothers, Lawrence Kessen, Spearville, and Don Kessen, Atwood; one sister, Rosemary Kiser, Dodge City; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Eileen Seidl.
Vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. today at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fowler.
Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Schremmer and the Rev. Frances Stuart, OSB, presiding.
Burial will be at Fowler Cemetery.

WILMA M. ANDERSON
SUBLETTE Wilma Maude Anderson, 90, Satanta, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at Satanta District Hospital in Satanta.
She was born July 22, 1912, to Owen Earl and Elizabeth Mae (Knott) Carter in Smith County.
She married Alvie Riley Anderson May 18, 1941, in Clayton, N.M. He died Oct. 18, 1988.
She was a former resident of Sublette.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one niece, Virgie Mae Logan, Greensburg; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Graveside services will be at 8:30 a.m. Friday at Ulysses Cemetery
in Ulysses.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Satanta Long Term Care-Chapel in Satanta.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Haskell County Funeral Home in Sublette.

CARLOS LEYVA
Carlos Leyva, 38, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He born April 1, 1965, to Raymundo and Maria (Juarez) Leyva in Chihuahua, Mexico.
He married Maria Evangelina Leyva May 22, 1993. She survives.
He has been a resident of Liberal for 20 years.
He worked for the City of Liberal Water Department.
Survivors also include his mother, Maria Leyva Juarez of Chihuahua; two daughters, Jazmin and Sharon Leyva, both of Liberal; two brothers, David Leyva, Liberal, and Guillermo Leyva, Fort Worth, Texas; and two sisters, Elida Batista, Liberal, and Maria Cruz Leyva deMarquez, Chihuahua.
He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Aida Ramos.
Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Chapel in Liberal, with Pastor Jorge Gutierrez presiding.
Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery
in Liberal.
Friends may call until 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
ALBERTA IRENE GRIFFEE
FOWLER Alberta Irene Griffee, 93, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at the Fowler Nursing Home in Fowler.
She was born July 14, 1909, to E.B. and Dora Cecelia King Taylor in Bucklin.
She married Elden Carlos Griffee Sept. 3, 1936, in Wichita. He died Feb. 22, 1977.
She graduated from Bucklin High School in Bucklin. She had been a resident of Fowler for 15 years.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the 10th Avenue United Methodist Church in Hutchinson.
Survivors include three daughters, Roberta Young and husband, Robert, Fowler; Eldora Jones, Hutchinson; and Donna Plank and husband, David LeRoy, Yoder.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Everett Taylor; and two sisters, Avis Taylor and Evangeline Vanatta.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Sterling Community Cemetery
in Sterling, with Pastor Alan Stambaugh presiding.
There will be no public visitation.
