Mamie I. Held, 100, of Garrett, a retired secretary, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at Miller's Merry Manor.
The Defiance, Ohio, native retired in 1970 from Falstaff/Berghoff Brewery in Fort Wayne and was a member of Garrett Presbyterian Church. Surviving are nephews Robert Foulk of Wolcottville, Steven Fuller of Leo-Cedarville and Daniel Fuller of Lisle, Ill.; and nieces Shirley Fleming of Bloomington, Diane Held of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Marilyn MacLaren of Clinton Township, Mich. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael, a brother, Harry Rahmer, and sisters Nellie Foulk and Minnie Fuller. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Thomas Funeral Home, Garrett, with calling from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday. Burial will be at Christian Union cemetery, Garrett. Memorials are to Miller's Merry Manor Activity Fund.

Mark Krauskopf, 35, of Onekama, Mich., a Fort Wayne native, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, in Manistee.
He was owner/registered architect of Studio One Architects in Manistee and enjoyed bicycling, kayaking, hiking and spending time with his family. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in New Buffalo and Sunrise Rotary Club in Manistee. Surviving are his wife, Tamara; sons Owen M.J. and Alexander N., both of Onekama; his father and stepmother, Dale and Lynette of Auburn, Ind.; his mother, Nancy Krauskopf of Fort Wayne; a brother, Curtis of Orlando, Fla.; grandmothers Betty Krauskopf of Fort Wayne and Berniece Humbarger of Sebring, Fla.; and stepgrandparents Glen and Evelyn Weible of Kendallville, Ind. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Auburn, Ind. Calling is from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hite Funeral Home, Kendallville, Ind. Burial will be at Concordia cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Memorials are to the Michigan Legacy Art Park in Thompsonville.

South Whitley - 1916-2003
Sarah A. Gingher, 86, of South Whitley and formerly of Rome City, Kendallville and Beaufort, S.C., died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at home.
The Fort Wayne native had worked for Studebaker Co. during World War II and was a 1934 graduate of North Side High School, both of Fort Wayne. She was affiliated with Collamer Christian Church and Marine Corps League. Surviving are a son, Michael D. of Columbia City; daughters Anna G. Simmons of South Whitley and Nancy L. Willis of Culpeper, Va.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Harold R., preceded her in death. Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, with calling from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at South Whitley cemetery. Memorials are to the church, American Stroke Association or American Cancer Society.

Grace Aker Hall, 98, of Hammond, a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 432 in Fort Wayne, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003.
She was also a member of Forrester 1107. Surviving are a son, Arthur of Hammond; grandchildren Lynda Mielenz, Dennis Aker and Marie Robertson; 14 stepgreat-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Arthur Sr., preceded her in death. Services are 7:30 p.m. Friday at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, Munster, with calling from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday. Rockford, Ohio - 1918-2003
Iris Naomi Putman, 84, of Rockford, Ohio, a native of rural Chattanooga, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at Laurels of Shane Hill.
She was a member of Rockford United Methodist Church and had lived in that area all of her life. Surviving are her husband, Eugene L.; brothers Paul Roebuck of Dayton, Nev., and Jerome Roebuck of Chula Vista, Calif.; sisters Bonnie Kolter of Dayton, Nev., and Mary Read of Corveta, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews. Brothers Billy, Tommy and James Roebuck preceded her in death. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, with calling one hour before services and also from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Riverside cemetery. Sister Eligia Blaes, 100, of Donaldson, who served as laundry manager and patient visitor/volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at Catherine Kasper Home.
"Sister Eligia's joy was ‘snow-white linens' and her faithful employees." The Mascoutah, Ill., native retired in 1992, served at St. Mary Hospital in East St. Louis, Ill., at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Chicago and had earned a podiatry technician certificate. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters. Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday at Catherine Kasper Home.

Norman F. Lotti, 59, of Ossian, a retired dock foreman, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at Riverbend Health Care.
The Lincoln, Calif., native retired in 1997 from the Salvation Army after 14 years of service and had served in the U.S. Army. Surviving are his wife, June; daughters Grace Hall, Cindy Shackels and Leona Burton, all of Ossian, Tracie Castiaux of Springfield, Ohio, and Maria Lotti of Elkhart; and five grandchildren. Services are 3 p.m. Thursday at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., Fort Wayne, with calling from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at IOOF cemetery. Avis M. Miller, 73, of North Webster, a member of Tippecanoe Library Board, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at Avalon Village in Ligonier.
The Fort Wayne native had worked for Peter Eckrich & Sons foods in Fort Wayne as a secretary and moved from Fort Wayne in 1986. She was a member of North Webster United Methodist Church and Lakeland Women's Club. There are no survivors. Her husband, George, preceded her in death. Services are 11 a.m. Friday at North Webster United Methodist Church, North Webster. Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse. Burial will be at North Webster cemetery, Mock Addition. Memorials are to the church Nursery Fund.

Dorothy E. Cutter, 93, of Auburn died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at Miller's Merry Manor in Garrett.
The Garrett native had worked for Wolf & Dessauer Department Store and L.S. Ayres for 15 years and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Surviving are a daughter, Linda Bernhart of Fort Wayne; a son, John E. of Mishawaka; sisters Irene Odenkirk of Auburn and Gladys Klaushing of Garrett; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Franklin, a sister and two brothers. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Auburn, with calling one hour before services. Calling is also from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McComb, Dilgard & Cline Funeral Home, Auburn. Burial will be at Woodlawn cemetery. She had worked for Campbell's Soup Co. in Napoleon, Ohio, from 1973 to 1982, for Richards Restaurant, and as a certified nursing assistant for The Oaks Living Center. Surviving are sons James Eppelmann of Pierceton and Tom Eppelmann of Mentone; stepsons James of Briceton, Ohio, Mike of Nappanee and Billy Crosser of Rosealm, Ohio; a daughter, Theresa Fruit of Parker City; stepdaughters Kim Mansfield and Cindy Coil, both of Payne, Ohio, and Michelle Sherry of Columbia City; brothers William P. Kuhn of Columbia City and Richard L. Kuhn of Korea; a stepbrother, Mike Merz of Continental, Ohio; sisters Paula Craig of Napoleon, Ohio, Annette M. Rohrs of Bryan, Ohio, Diana Brinkman of Continental, Ohio, and Emma Shaffer of Garrett; and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E., and a daughter, Patricia L.
