IV of Andros Island, Bahamas; a brother, James Wilson of Yonkers, N.Y.; a sister, Margaret Spatta of Yonkers; two grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nine step great-grandchildren. Chester H. Glant Jr., 80, of Warsaw, a World War II Navy veteran, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at home.
The Warsaw native retired in 1992 from Sun Metal Products as tool and diemaker after 50 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a 1941 graduate of Warsaw High School. Surviving are his wife, Gloria G.; a daughter, Mary Ann Rice of Winona Lake; a son, James A. of Warsaw; sisters Joyce Zimmerman of New Ulm, Minn., and Mary Wigner of Mesa, Ariz.; a brother, George Glant of Palm Harbor, Fla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services with military honors by American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1126 are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Oakwood cemetery. Doris J. Krider, 71, of Larwill and formerly of Florida and California, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne.
The Whitley County native retired in 1986 from Precision Plastics after 18 years of service. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 65, Shrine Hillbilly Club 95 and was affiliated with Larwill United Methodist Church. Surviving are sons Edward W. Gaylord of Danville, Ill., Richard D. Gaylord of Pierceton and Ryan A. Gaylord of Larwill; stepsons Brent R. of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Thad L. of Cape Fear, Fla.; stepdaughters Tonya C. Krider of South Whitley and Serina M. Hewson of Huntington; a sister, Mable Blanchard of Larwill; and eight grandchildren. Her husband, Lawrence D., preceded her in death. Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, with calling from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at Lakeview cemetery, Larwill. Van Wert, Ohio - 1916-2002
Gladys L. Winhover, 86, of Van Wert, Ohio, who served for many years on Van Wert County Election Board, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at Van Wert County Hospital.
The Van Wert County native retired in 1970 from Van Wert Manufacturing Co. and had worked for National Seal Corp. She was a member of Trinity Friends Church and Eagles Auxiliary. Surviving are daughters Judy Harding of Willshire and Gayle Gibbons of Rockford; a brother, James Sites of Spencerville; seven grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius V., a son, Larry, three brothers and two sisters. Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, with calling from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at Woodland cemetery, Van Wert. Memorials are to the church.

Kim M. Neeley, 46, of Fremont died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne.
The Toledo, Ohio, native worked at Electri-Tec Inc. in Angola in quality control. Surviving are her husband, David; a son, Matthew of Fremont; a daughter, Brandy of Penn Grove, Pa.; a brother, James Timpe of Angola; and a sister, Marsha Melchi of Angola. The Albion native was a past member of Albion Fire Department, Brimfield Lions Club and enjoyed bowling. Surviving are his wife, Mary M.; a daughter, Julianna Price of Albion; sons Mark A. and Jerry L., both of Albion; a sister, Ellen Bryie of Avilla; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Homer Swinehart, 90, of Warsaw, a cabinetmaker, died Thursday, April 11, 2002, at Cambridge House Nursing Home.
The Warsaw native retired in 1978 from Endicott Furniture, worked as cabinet finisher and repairman and had also farmed. He was member of Freewill Baptist Church in Claypool and a 1929 graduate of Warsaw High School. Surviving are stepsons Burnis Conley of Frostproof, Fla., Edward and Bart Conley, both of Warsaw, Wilbur Conley of Mousie, Ky., Bob Conley of Demotte, Coy Conley of Dallas and Anthony Conley of Plant City, Fla.; stepdaughters Anna O'Keefe of Oviedo, Fla., and Fannie Beeman and Georgia Krichbaum, both of Warsaw; a brother, Howard of Victoria, Texas; and 36 stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jayhazie. Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with calling one hour before services and also from 1 to 3 and 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday. "Loving grandpa to Mike, Rachelle, Chad and Bryan." The Paulding County, Ohio, native had worked at American Hoist & Derrick for 11 years and was a member of Broadway Christian Church. Surviving are a son, Michael of Garrett; a stepson, Wayne Gibson of Toledo, Ohio; a brother, Charles of Garrett; sisters Marvine Murley of Garrett and Carolyn McClur of Crooked Lake; and four grandchildren. Brook Reid Thompson, 35, of Arlington, Texas, a 1988 graduate of Sam Houston High School, died Thursday, April 11, 2002, in Arlington.
"He especially enjoyed his trips to the farm and riding his Dixon tractor." The Denton native worked at Affirmative Business Group Sheltered Workshop for 14 years. He loved life, enjoyed auto racing, "cool cars" and going places. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Amazing Grace Sunday school class. Surviving are his father and mother, Lynn and Sandy of Arlington; his grandfather, Elijah Thompson of Warren, Ind.; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents Helen and Pat Patterson and Dorotha Thompson. Graveside services are 4 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson Home cemetery, Warren, Ind.
