Louise Gaff, 86, of Hamilton, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2003, at Laurels of DeKalb in Butler.
The Noble County native was a homemaker and a member of Hamilton United Methodist Church and its UMW and Hamilton Fish and Game Club. Surviving are sons Richard of Hamilton and John of Coldwater, Mich.; daughters Helen Rinehart of Elkhart, Eleanor Brock of Orland, Katherine Wilson of Middlebury and Cheryl Hohman of St. Joe; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry O., and a son, Perry J. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Hamilton United Methodist Church, Hamilton with calling one hour before services. Calling is also from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home, Hudson. Burial will be at Hamilton cemetery, Hamilton. Memorials are to the church.

Frank Tucker, 77, of Huntington, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne.
The Pikeville, Ky., native retired from Friction Material after 15 years of service. Surviving are sons Franklin of Pikeville, Ky., Ronald and Donald, both of Huntington; daughters Lois Lowe of Pikeville, Ky., and Tammy Helvie of Huntington; sisters Betty Anderson of Lorain, Ohio, Essie Coleman, Rosie Bentley, Bessie Elkins and Marcie Casebolt, all of Pikeville, Ky., 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eula M., sons Darrel Reed and Darrel Neal, two brothers and two sisters. Graveside services are 10 a.m. Monday at Gardens of Memory, Huntington County. Calling is Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington.

Helen J. Favorite Yake, 90, of Huntington, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at Miller's Merry Manor.
The Huntington native had worked for the Memcor Corp. for 17 years and with her husband developed the Yake Subdivision. She was a member of Central Christian Church and its Women's Church Ministry. She supported school activities for Huntington Township for many years. Surviving are sons Dr. Ronald F. of Rockford, Ill., Terry of Overland Park, Kan., and Wayne of San Francisco; a daughter, Roxie Moore of Marion; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert J., a daughter, Charlotte Vollmar, and a sister. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with calling from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at Riverside cemetery in Andrews. Memorials are to the church or American Cancer Society.

Beulah F. Norris, 74, of Columbia City, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City.
The Ridgeview, W.Va., native completed her education in West Virginia. Surviving are sons Billy W. Moore, H. Roger Moore and Gary A. Moore, all of Columbia City; brothers James Woodrum of Columbus, Ohio, Ralph Woodrum of Vermont and Hannon Woodrum of Louisiana; a sister, Deulah Kerns of Fairmont, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy S. Moore, her second husband, Paul W., two brothers and a sister. Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Smith & Sons Funeral Homes, Columbia City, with calling from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at Lindenwood cemetery in Fort Wayne.

Elinore E. Slagg, 84, of Columbia City, a member of Sigma Eta Fine Arts Sorority, died Wednesday, February 12, 2003, at Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City.
The Washburn, McLean County, N.D., native retired as an elementary school teacher after 43 years of service and was a member of Columbia City United Methodist Church and its Chancel Choir and UMW and Sorosis Literary Club. She was in charge of church dining room and kitchen for many years. Surviving are a sister, Martha Oechsle of Fort Wayne; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at DeMoney Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City, with calling from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Memorials are to the church.

Jack R. Beezley, 79, of Pierceton, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at Miller's Merry Manor in Columbia City.
The Whitley County native was a member of North Webster American Legion Post 253 and Syracuse VFW. Surviving are sisters Maxine Blake of Bradenton, Fla., Peg Rood of Pierceton and Donna Kline of Syracuse; longtime friend Harmon Shoda of Loon Lake; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Services are pending.

Ray A. Laymon, 99, of Warren, and formerly of Florida, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at United Methodist Memorial Home.
The Huntington County native was an area farmer and had worked for Halderman's Farm Services in Wabash. He graduated in 1922 from Monument City High School and attended Marion Business College. Surviving are his wife, Dolores; a son Rex W. of Andrews; a daughter, Jann D. Coldren of Elk Grove, Calif., seven stepchildren; a brother, Earl Laymon of Andrews; four grandchildren; and 18 stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lurene, second wife, Nina, and third wife, Mildred, a brother and a sister. There will be no calling or services. Memorials are to donor's choice.

The Morrison, Tenn., native was a retired truck driver. Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane; a daughter, Debbi Levitz of Vanceburg, Ky.; sons Dana, Richard and Stan, all of Wolcottville, and Tom of Clayton, N.C.; sisters Imogene Brooks of Muncie, Mozelle Toth of Salt Late City and Hazel Wilson of Clearwater, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia A., two brothers and three sisters. Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Frurip-May Funeral Home, LaGrange, with calling from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. The Liberty Center, Wells County, native was a former Methodist minister, choir director and public school music teacher. Surviving are his wife, Elsa; sons Lowell and Steve G., both of San Francisco, and David of Ligonier; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Abbott. Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home, Kendallville with calling from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Richard E. "Rick" Myers, 53, of Huntington County, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003 at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
The Huntington native worked at Majestic Company as a sheet-metal worker for 30 years and was a member of Amateur Archaeological Association of Huntington. He was interested in researching and gathering Native American artifacts of the area and enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and oil painting. Surviving are his wife Darlene R.; sons Scott R of Appleton, Wis., Matthew R. of Huntington, Dwight Broom of Virginia Beach, Va. and Dwayne Chaney of Lancaster; daughters, Marcy and Angela Broom, both of Huntington; a brother, Barney of Bippus; a sister, Erma Jane Thornton of LaFountaine; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother. Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, Huntington, with calling from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
