Inas E. Mace, 93, of Van Wert, Ohio, a member of United Methodist Women, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at Vancrest Health Care Center.
The Van Wert County native retired in 1969, and had taught school at Union Township School for 16 years and also in Spencerville. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and involved with the Retired Teachers Association on local, state and national levels. Surviving are daughters Kathryn Wojcik of Fayetteville, Romaine Whetstone of Van Wert, Janet Homan of Fairfield Glade, Tenn., and Earlene Rhodes of Plain City; sisters Lena Shearer and Esther Warner, both of Fort Wayne, and Joyce Rosendahl of Convoy; a brother, Dwight Gardner of Van Wert; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Earl, a daughter, Beth Branstetter, and a sister. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials are to the church.

Charlene D. Terwilleger, 58, of Antwerp, Ohio, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at Harborside Healthcare in Defiance.
The Defiance native was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, Harry; her mother, Doris Stoker of Defiance; and a brother, Leroy Stoker of Defiance. A brother, Albert Stoker, preceded her in death. Services will be held at a later date. Memorials are to the family.

Joseph N. Ligman, 79, of Cree Lake, Kendallville, owner/operator of Custom Molding Fiberglass, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at home.
The Beloit, Wis., native was also owner/operator of KV Molded Products and co-owner of K & L Stamping. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 86 and a World War II and Korean War Marine Corps veteran. Surviving are his wife, Kathryn; sons David of Bedford and Richard of Lapel; daughters Karen Jordan of LaOtto and Lois White of Kendallville; stepsons Gary and Craig Strater, both of Kendallville; a brother, Paul of Naples, Fla.; four grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death. Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Hite Funeral Home, Kendallville, with calling from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at Lake View cemetery, Kendallville. Ruth Anna Louise Hamilton, 102, of Cloverdale and formerly of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, in Cloverdale.
The Huntington native was a homemaker and member of Spencer Christian Church in Spencer. She was also a member of Roanoke Order of Eastern Star Chapter 62 and Rebekah Lodge 246 and Demonstration clubs in Allen, Fountain and Owens counties. Surviving are nieces and nephews. Her husband, Claude E.L., and brothers Walter, Kenneth W., Ernest, Louis, Richard and Jack Kahlenbeck preceded her in death. Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with calling from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at Prairie Grove cemetery, Fort Wayne.

Amos R. Steury, 96, of Bluffton, a member of First Presbyterian Church, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center. The Adams County native was retired from Steury Bottling Co., which he started in the 1930s. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club and Elks. Surviving are sons Robin and William, both of Bluffton, and Rudy of Minneapolis; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. His wife, Agnes M., preceded him in death. Services are 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Goodwin Memorial Chapel, Bluffton, with calling from 11 a.m. until services and also from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be at Mazelin cemetery, Berne. Robert C. Blaising, 84, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and formerly of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at Port St. Lucie Nursing & Restorative Care Center. "He loved family gatherings, church and friends." The Fort Wayne native had worked for Poinsette Motors as service manager for 10 years and for Rossean Brothers Chrysler-Plymouth for 10 years. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. Surviving are his wife, Delilah; daughters Sylvia A. Kratzman of Leo-Cedarville, and Marcia Cook of Spencerville; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A sister preceded him in death. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour before services. Calling is also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday with a 3:30 p.m. vigil service at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Wayne H. Macy, 88, of South Whitley, a toolmaker for Fox Products for almost 20 years, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City.
The Westfield native was also owner/operator of a gas station, ran a bread route for Omar Bread Co., and was a milkman for Roberts Dairy and an insurance agent for Prudential for 20 years. He had worked for Naval Ordnance during World War II. Surviving are sons J. Jerry of Blairesville, Ga., John R. of Elbert, Colo., and Jack A. of South Whitley; a daughter, Jean E. Kistler of Columbia City; a brother, Victor of Westfield; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marieta L., and two brothers. Services are 1 p.m. Sunday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Miller Chapel, South Whitley, with calling from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Burial is 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Cicero cemetery, Cicero.

Roger Lee Hale, 30, of South Whitley, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Youngstown, Ohio.
The Warsaw native worked for Hale Construction as a construction worker. He graduated in 1991 from Whitko High School and attended Indiana University, South Bend and Ivy Tech State College, Fort Wayne. Surviving are a son, Andrew M. of Fulton; a daughter, Kayla E. of Fulton; his fiancee, Dennise Daniels of South Whitley; his mother and father, Evalee and Basel Hale of rural Pierceton; and brothers Forest and Basel, both of South Whitley. Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Free United Baptist Church, Packerton, with calling after 2 p.m. today at the church. Burial will be at Hillcrest cemetery in Pierceton. The Fort Wayne native was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. She graduated in 1939 from Lafayette Central High School, where she was valedictorian. Surviving are her husband, Warren; sons Tom of Redondo Beach, Calif., Bill of Atlanta, Bruce of Columbia City and Jim of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were two sisters and two brothers. Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Huntington, with calling from 10 a.m. until services.
