Betty L. Albert, 76, of Fort Wayne, a retired clerk, died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at home.
The Peru native was retired from J.C. Penney & Co. after 20 years of service. Surviving are a daughter, Janice Albert of Fort Wayne; a son, James W. of Fort Wayne; a sister, Shirley Carroll of New Castle; brothers Dick Wells of Redding, Fla., and Bob Wells of Peru; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garl, and a brother. Services are 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Covington Memorial Gardens Chapel, 8408 Covington Road. Phyllis J. Emenhiser, 73, of Fort Wayne, a broker with Emenhiser Realty for 30 years, died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at Lutheran Hospital.
The Fort Wayne native was a member of First Wayne Street United Methodist Church. Surviving are sons Gary of Atlanta and Dave of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; brothers Robert Nordyke of Fort Wayne and Edward Nordyke of Crystal River, Fla.; a sister, Polly Murray of Arlington, Texas; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard B., in February and a sister. Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with calling from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be at Lindenwood cemetery.

Phillip L. Ames, 61, of Fort Wayne, a salesman with Janitor's Supply Co., died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana.
The Hicksville, Ohio, native was a member/past master of Southgate Masonic Lodge 731. He was also very active and a member of both Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Wayne and Mizpah Shrine. Surviving are his wife, Sharon E.; a daughter, Lisa E. Coy of Fort Wayne; a son, Phillip T. of Ohio; a brother, Robert of New Haven; and two grandchildren. Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave., with calling from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today with a 7:30 p.m. Masonic Service. Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens. Judith G. Badgley, 62, of Fort Wayne died Thursday, July 25, 2002, in Fort Wayne.
The Columbia City native was a 1957 graduate of Columbia City High School. Surviving are a daughter, Tracy L. May of Fort Wayne; sons Todd Q. May of Cummins, Ga., and Timothy L. Badgley of Fort Wayne; brothers Michael Grant of Columbia City, Craig Grant of Illinois and Jerome Grant of Leesburg; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by husbands Quentin H. May and Robert L. Badgley. Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, with calling from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Patricia Jean Good, 81, of Fort Wayne, a charter member of Blackhawk Baptist Church, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at St. Joseph Hospital.
The Fort Wayne native retired from Mutual Security Life after 10 years of service. She was a lifetime member of the PTA, where she served in numerous offices, was a founding member of "The Bible Hour" and attended The Chapel. Surviving are a son, David of Fort Wayne; daughters Marsha J. Higbee of Fremont and JoEllyn Brough, Cheryl Wurm and Michele Short, all of Fort Wayne; sisters Carol Barnet of Zionsvillle and Barbara Beard of Fort Wayne; 13 grandchidlren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell N., and a sister. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at The Chapel, 2505 W. Hamilton Road. Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials are to "The Bible Hour."

She was a Fort Wayne native. Surviving are a daughter, Roxanne Jastrzemski of Fort Wayne; sons Bruce of Fort Wayne and David of Albion; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mattie Lamb, 85, of Fort Wayne, a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, at Canterbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
The Ashland City, Tenn., native was retired from Fort Wayne Community Schools and lived most of her life in Fort Wayne. She enjoyed repairing houses, gardening and raising foster children. Surviving are daughters Helen Martin and Ellen Watson, both of Fort Wayne; sons James A. Jr. and Gregory, both of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Services were Thursday at Pickett Funeral Service, 1628 E. Marciel J. Klaehn-Hohman, 88, of Fort Wayne, a member of St. John Lutheran Church, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at Community Hospital North, Indianapolis.
The Fort Wayne native was a homemaker. Surviving are a son, Charles H. Hohman of Indianapolis, and a sister, Luella Stalhot of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold M. Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Lindenwood cemetery.

"As God wants, she treated everyone with love and joyous fellowship." The Dayton, Ohio, native was an artist and homemaker. She was a member of Trinity English Church, Trinity Circle, Ladies of the Legion of Honor, Sigma Kappa sorority, Art Appreciation and Designer Craftsman. She was also a member of Ladies Golf League of Orchard Ridge Country Club and Past Queen of Daughters of the Nile. Surviving are her husband, Curtis C.; sons Bruce Nelson of Libertyville, Ill., and J. Clark Hill of Fort Wayne; her twin sister, Mary F. Borke of Chicago; and seven grandchildren. Services are 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 W. James Everett Goldsberry, 94, of Stafford, Va., a retired connector, died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at home.
The Wells County, Ind., native retired in 1970 from General Electric Co.'s transform division after 28 years of service. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Bluffton, Ind., a graduate of Bluffton High School and formerly of Titusville, Fla. Surviving are daughters Carolyn Graham of Bluffton, Ind., and Barbara Sprunger of Stafford; a sister, Bessie Sills of Bluffton, Ind.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Bluffton, Ind., with calling one hour before services. The Garrett native retired in May from Zollner Corp. in Fort Wayne after 40 years of service. He was formerly of Oliver Lake. Surviving are sons Robert D. of Goshen and Edward A. of Roanoke; his mother, Florence Dominy of Fort Wayne; a brother, Larry of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters June Courtney of Carmel and Nancy Downing of Preble; and one grandchild. Oscar Edward "Ed" Hofmann, 78, of Whiting, N.J., a Van Wert County, Ohio, native, died Thursday, July 18, 2002, at home.
He retired in 1988 from First Federal Savings & Loan in Bristol, Pa., after 25 years of service. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Whiting, Cares Program, American Legion, Bucks County Kiwanis Club and was a World War II veteran. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; daughters Nancy Volz of Coral Springs, Fla., and Diane Munoz-Dones of Wilmore, Ky.; sisters Louise Showalter of Ohio City, Ohio, Elsie Seekings of Fort Wayne and Ella Jackson and Delores Whitcraft, both of Van Wert, Ohio; and one grandchild. A daughter, Kathie Hofmann, preceded him in death. Services were held in Whiting.
