Robert E. Kleinknight, 70, of Bluffton, a member of the Army National Guard, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana.
The Bluffton native was employed by Skiles Co. for 25 years and Bear Creek Farms for seven years. Surviving are his sons, Chris and David, both of Bluffton, and Bruce; daughters Debbie Williams of Elizabethtown, Tenn., and Juliann of Bluffton; brothers Charles of Bluffton, DeWayne of Kokomo, Larry of Dunkirk and Richard of Arizona; sisters Bonnie Holmes of Arkansas and Delores Ely of Oregon; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Goodwin Memorial Chapel, Bluffton, with calling from 2 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at Elm Grove cemetery. Memorials are to the family.

Rosalie I. Seaman, 94, of Avilla died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at Sacred Heart Home.
The Avilla native was an LPN and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Surviving are a sister, Victoria Franklin of Michigan, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Steve. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Catholic cemetery, Auburn. There is no calling. Memorials are to the donor's choice.

Pleasant Lake - 1928-2002
Norman H. Ort, 74, of Pleasant Lake, a truck driver, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
The Woodburn native was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran. He worked as a truck driver for County Line Cheese from 1963 to 1991. He was a member of Sonlight Church and Fremont Moose Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Donna; a son, Dave of Pleasant Lake; daughters Holly Eib and Lori DeVille, both of Angola; brothers Richard L. and Kenneth, both of Auburn; sisters Pat Baker of Hamilton, Helen Yeiser of St. Joe, Margaret Thiel of Garrett and Mary Ann Fisher of Topeka; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by three brothers. Memorial services are 1 p.m. Friday at Sonlight Church, Angola. There is no calling. Dorothy A. Kurtz, 86, of Garrett, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at Miller's Merry Manor.
The Steuben County native is survived by her sons, Thomas G. of Rotunda West, Fla., Dean L. of California and George L. of Crystal, Minn.; daughters Marlene Hellen and Carol Kurtz, both of Columbia City, Amy Green of Angola and Suzanne Mayberry of Corunna; a sister, Barbara Wilhelm of Pleasant Lake; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; sons Warren G. and Don; and a sister. Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home, Hudson, with calling from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at South Scott cemetery. Memorials are to the American Heart Association.

Barbara Jean Shelton, 76, of Warsaw, formerly of Phoenix, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at Cambridge House Nursing Home.
The Mishawaka native retired as a registered nurse after 40 years. She was a member of Delta Theta Tau social sorority of Warsaw. Surviving are a daughter, Bobbie Erdmier of Phoenix; a son, Ric of Phoenix, her mother, Retha Holbrook of Warsaw; a brother, Jim Holbrook of Warsaw; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H., and a brother. Services will be held in Phoenix at a later date. Burial will be at Veterans National cemetery in Phoenix. The Allen County native was a homemaker. Surviving are daughters Sheila Putteet, Betty Sielschott and Patricia R. Strickler, all of Decatur; sons Kent of rural Decatur and Gerry D. of O'Fallon, Mo.; sisters Geraldine Meyer of Ossian and Lona Horman and Garnita Rebber, both of New Haven; brothers Raymond Scheumann of Fort Wayne and Arnold Scheumann of Hoagland; and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, a son, Delvin, and a brother. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Friedheim. Irene Mae King Bailey, 94, of Waterloo died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002, at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn.
The DeKalb County native was a homemaker and teacher at Kelly School and Ashley School for grades kindergarten through eighth. She was a member of Cedar Lake Church of Christ and Ladies Aid. She taught Sunday school for more than 50 years. Surviving are a son, Jerry of Waterloo; stepsons Ray of Fresno, Calif., James of Fort Wayne and Carl of Bakersfield, Calif.; her stepdaughter and caregiver, Pearl Baumgartner of Waterloo; three grandchildren; 16 stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin M., a stepson, Alfred, and a brother. Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Lake Church of Christ, Waterloo, with calling one hour before services. The Humberstone, Ontario, Canada, native retired from Auburn City hardware after 13 years of service. Surviving are a daughter, Geraldine Reynolds of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; a sister, Bertha L. Dean of Auburn; a brother, Norman Reeb of Essex, Ontario, Canada; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The Adams County native retired in 1980 from Lutheran Hospital as a registered nurse after 30 years of service. Surviving are daughters Carol S. Bell of Columbus, Ohio, and Cathy S. Dickmeyer of Whitewater, Wis.; sons John B. of Brentwood, Tenn., and Paul L. of Long Lane, Mo.; a sister, Lillian Liechty of Berne; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, La Mar. Services are 3 p.m. Saturday at Swiss Village Auditorium, Berne. She loved to read and was an avid doll collector. Surviving are sons William of Delphos, Ohio, Robert of Plant City, Fla., Donald of Antwerp, Ohio, and Craig of Mansfield, Ohio; a daughter, Susan Carter of Zephyrhills, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a companion, Homer Brownlee of Alford, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy, a son, Timothy, and a daughter, Janet.
