Gertrude L. Steinbauer, 95, of Fort Wayne, a registered and a private nurse, died Monday, April 8, 2002, at Lutheran Home.
The Convoy, Ohio, native had worked at Lutheran Hospital and retired in 1978 from Wermuth Construction as a secretary after 33 years of service. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Altar Guild and Lutheran Hospital Alumni Association. Surviving are sisters Mildred Buechner of Albany, N.Y., and Lillian Kontak of Elmore, Ohio; 11 nieces and nephews including Martha Franke of Fort Wayne; and 27 great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Paul and the Rev. Herbert Steinbauer. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Lutheran Home Chapel, 6701 S. Anthony Blvd., with calling one hour before services. Calling is also from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials are to the church, Altar Guild or Lutheran Home.

Malinde Scheumann, 81, of Fort Wayne, a member of Holy Scripture Lutheran Church, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at Lutheran Home.
The Decatur native retired in 1986 from Lincoln National Bank cafe as a baker. Surviving are a sister, Milda Dittmer of Fort Wayne; five nieces; and 10 nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Scripture Lutheran Church, 8811 Kennerk Road, with calling one hour before services. Paul T. Reinkensmeier, 84, of Fort Wayne, a member of Lutheran Layman's League, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at St. Joseph Hospital.
The Fort Wayne native retired in 1990 from the Three Rivers Title Co. as an abstractor after 38 years of service. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Allen County Republican Club and Fort Wayne and Allen County Historical Society. Surviving are a sister, Betty Lazzer of Fort Wayne; and nephews David and Mark Lazzer, both of Fort Wayne. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 202 W. Ronald M. Malone, 68, of Fort Wayne, whose hobbies were bowling and dancing, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002.
"Will be missed by a special friend, Virginia, and friends and staff at Thompson House." The Fort Wayne native retired in 1994 from Easter Seals Arc Rehab and Work Services and was a member of Easter Seals Arc of Northeast Indiana. Surviving are caregivers, the John and Evelyn Hanni family of Uniondale. She was a homemaker and charter member of St. Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church, Ladies Guild and Macedonian Patriotic Organization. Surviving are a son, Luben of Fort Wayne; daughters Dotsa Bitove of Toronto and Tina Litchin of Fort Wayne; and a brother, Tselo Gadjos of California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, and a sister. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church, 3535 Crescent Ave., with calling one hour before services. Surviving are his mother, Rakita Davis of Fort Wayne; his father, David Bryant of Fort Wayne; a sister, DaShanae Davis of Fort Wayne; grandparents Jada and Rafael Tolbert, Raymond Davis and Carman Hamlet, all of Fort Wayne; great-grandparents Jessie Sanders and Rose Hamlet, both of Fort Wayne, Earl Bryant of Fort Washington, Md., and James Davis of Springfield, Ohio; and a great-great-grandmother, Maria Bridges of Fort Wayne. His great-grandmother, Pearl Davis, preceded him in death. Private services will be held. Burial will be at Highland Park cemetery.

Marjorie O. Young, 82, of Fort Wayne, a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002, at Lutheran Hospital.
The Indianapolis native retired in 1985 from Fort Wayne Community Schools as a physical education teacher. She was also a member of Lincolnshire Church of the Brethren, Pi Chapter Psi Iota Xi sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, Chapter CP, PEO Sisterhood and various educational organizations. Surviving are a daughter, Susan Armstrong Miller of Fort Wayne; stepdaughters Jo Young-Switzer of Roanoke, Carol Lindquist and Barb Young-Miller, both of Fort Wayne; a son, Stephen Armstrong of Fort Wayne; and 14 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands Paul Armstrong and Dr. John F. Young, and a stepdaughter, Sonia L. Young. Memorial services are 4 p.m. Friday at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 W. The Paulding County, Ohio, native retired in 1978 from General Electric as a payroll clerk after 27 years of service. She was a member of Paulding United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne Moose Lodge and Elex Club-General Electric Women's Club. Surviving are three nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, with calling from 9 a.m. until services. The Kokomo native retired in 1992 as a medical stenographer. Surviving are daughters Victoria A. Cook of San Antonio and Jeanne M. Wetzel of Indianapolis; sons James C. of Leo and Samuel L. of Colorado Springs, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carter N. There will be private family services. Burial will be at Crown Hill cemetery in Indianapolis.

Alexander J. Milewski, 91, of Fort Wayne, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, in Fort Wayne.
"Beloved great-grandfather and grandfather of Angela, Jeremy, Amanda, Jay, Jacob and Allison, James, Haydn and Wyatt." The Pittsburgh native had worked for L.S. Ayres and Wolf & Dessauer Department Store in the mailroom and for East Allen County Schools as a custodian. Surviving are daughters Diane DeRyk of Huntertown and Pamela Kleber of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen M. Prayer services at 9:40 a.m. Friday at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., precede Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 1500 W. State Blvd. Calling is from 8 a.m. until prayer services Friday and also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today with a 2:30 p.m. vigil service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Catholic cemetery. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 82. Surviving are his wife, Delores M.; a daughter, Deborah Foreman of Elgin, S.C.; a son, David M. of Roanoke; sisters Betty Mason of Clyde, Ohio, and Lois Messerschmidt of Fort Wayne; and three grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death.
