Earl O. Kehler, 88, of Mentone, a self-employed brick mason, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw.
The Warsaw native had also worked for Brunswick installing bowling lanes and was a lifelong area resident. Surviving are his wife, Ruby; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Graveside services are 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Palestine cemetery, Palestine.

Everett Samuel Montel, 86, of Warsaw, a builder and farmer, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at home.
The Kosciusko County native attended Warsaw Wesleyan Church and was a graduate of Silver Lake High School. Surviving are his wife, Doris I.; a daughter, Karen Wall of New Haven; a sister, Lois Gearhart of Claypool; brothers Wayne Montel of North Manchester and Delbert Montel of North Carolina; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and a sister. Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with calling from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Ronald E. Hesher, 63, of Decatur, a member of the Scottish Rite in Fort Wayne, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at home.
The Adams County native retired in 1995 from B.F. Goodrich in Woodburn after 30 years of service and had worked for Decatur Wire & Die from 1998 to 2002. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 571 F&AM; and had served in the U.S. Air Force. Surviving are his wife, Johanna; sons Eric W. of Avilla and Brian W. of Indianapolis; a brother, Neil of Daytona Beach, Fla.; and two grandchildren. Masonic memorial services are 8 p.m. Saturday at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur, with calling from 6 p.m. until services. Burial will be at Decatur cemetery. Maxine A. Wright, 72, of Peru, a member of Duke Memorial Auxiliary, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
The Miami County native was retired from Square D Co. after 28 years of service and was a member of Order of Eastern Star Macy Chapter 124. Surviving are a son, Michael R. of Denver, Ind.; daughters Susie Peters of Peru and Carol J. Trexler of LaFontaine; brothers Eldon E. and John E. Richardson, both of Peru, and Kenneth L. Richardson of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Her husband, Max M., a son, David D., and a brother preceded her in death. Robert Max Ross, 82, of Spring Hill, Fla., and formerly of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003.
The Lynn, Ind., native retired from Zollner Corp. in Fort Wayne as a machinist. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Loyal Order of Moose, Elks and Indiana Club. Wanda L. Hoskins, 57, of Hamilton, Ohio, a former school bus driver for the Fort Wayne Lutheran Schools System, died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at home.
"Wanda enjoyed gardening and her grandchildren." The Hyden, Ky., native had worked as a housekeeper for Mercy Franciscan at Schroder for 10 years and was a member of Glory Road Baptist Church in New Miami. Surviving are a son, Kenneth Smith Jr. of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Suzanne Overbay of Garrett, Ind.; her parents, Homer and Myrtle Smith of Hamilton; brothers Jim, Curt and Paul Smith, all of Oxford; sisters Mae Enyart of Van Wert, Mable Smith of Fort Wayne and Char Smith of Hamilton; her former husband, Kenneth Smith; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Fred Hoskins, and two brothers. Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, Hamilton, with calling from noon until services. Opal C. Ball, 81, of Syracuse, a member of Order of Eastern Star in Muncie, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at home.
The Pulaski, Ky., native was a homemaker, and had worked for Warner-Gear in Muncie and French Steam Dye Works for several years. She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, James E.; a son, Gary of Syracuse; a brother, Ellis Wilson of Springport; grandchildren Michael G. Ball and Stephanie Ball; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael E., seven brothers and a sister. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Parson Mortuary, Muncie, with calling one hour before services and also from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Margaret E.W. Baumgartner, 91, of Berne, a retired school and church secretary, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at home.
She retired in 1981 from Berne Furniture, had worked for Berne Witness and was a volunteer for Et Cetera Ecke for the past 20 years. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, where she taught Sunday school for more than 40 years and was a former choir member. Surviving are daughters Grace Sprunger of Berne and Margaret Mundy of Lafayette; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Willard, preceded her in death.
