Wolf Lake - 1920-2002
E. Ethelyn Kronmiller, 82, of Wolf Lake, formerly of Fort Wayne, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City.
The Berrien Springs, Mich., native retired in 1985 from L.S. Ayres after 14 years of service. She also worked at G.C. Murphy's for five years and Wolf and Dessauer for 14 years. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Fort Wayne. Surviving are a brother, Gerald W. Sweany of Leesburg, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and her special friend and cousin, Robert Oliver of Wolf Lake. Her husband, Ralph W., two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, with calling from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Wolf Lake cemetery. Memorials are to the church.

Mark A. Stidams, 43, of Milford, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
"He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and son." The Salem native worked at Chore-Time Brock in shipping for seven years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being with friends and family. Surviving are his wife, Carol; sons Jason of North Webster, Jeremy of Milford and David of Syracuse; his mother, Tilda Stidams of North Webster; A.B. of Louisiana, Delbert Jr. of Oregon, Carl of North Manchester, Donald and Jim, both of Columbus, Ohio, George and Brad, both of North Webster, Wayne of Milford and Dale of Syracuse; sisters Louise Wakley of Goshen, Vannie Swihart of Milford, Pat Koher, Billie May and Kellie Sicks, all of North Webster; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert, and a sister. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse, with calling one hour before services. Calling also is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at North Webster Mock Addition in North Webster. Memorials are to the American Diabetes Association.

James R. Kummer, 77, of Fort Wayne, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at home.
The Peneto native retired in 1986 as a self-employed drywaller and painter. Surviving are his wife, Mary A.; a daughter, Alice A. Smith of Fort Wayne; brothers Earl of Bluffton, Donald of Muncie, Wayne of Hartford City, and Robert of Iowa; and sisters Mary Chenoweth of Trinidad, Texas, Norma J. Joyce W. Miller, 76, of Fort Wayne, a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Phi Theta Kappa Sorority Golden Key Society, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2002, at home.
The Passaic, N.J., native retired in 1992 after 50 years as a medical secretary. Surviving are sons John D., Craig E. and William S. Nix, all of Fort Wayne, Richard A. and Timothy W. Miller, both of Fort Wayne, and Thomas L. Miller of Angola; daughters Kathleen Nix-Gray of Huntingtown, Md., Cynthia Nix-Zent of Fort Wayne, and Barbara S. Miller of Pacifica, Calif.; and 17 grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard R. Miller. Services are private. Memorials are to Greenpeace U.S.A.

Lawrence Joseph "Larry" Keaney, 65, of Fort Wayne, a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics and Flying Circuits, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at home.
The Boston native, who enjoyed guitar music and was a nature and animal lover, was a contract designer and draftsman in the electrical engineering field for 25 years upon retirement in 1998. He also worked for the Indiana Automobile Auction. He was a private pilot and prided himself in building his rustic log cabin home in Tennessee. He also built and flew large-scale aircraft and served in the Army as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne. Surviving are his wife, Vickie J.; daughters Kathy Hoover and Karen Trentham, both of Van Buren, Ark.; a son, Kenneth of Van Buren, Ark.; his mother-in-law, Eunice Westrich of Fort Wayne; a brother, Max Westrich of Madison, Wis.; and a grandchild. Services are noon Wednesday at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave., with calling two hours before services. Burial will be at Greenlawn cemetery. Ray A. Kline, 69, of Fort Wayne, a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, in Fort Wayne.
The Green Township native retired in 1993 after 33 years as a technical engineer at Magnavox. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Surviving are his wife, Marcia A.; sons Allen of Auburn, Steven of Fort Wayne, and Douglas of Edinburgh, Scotland; a brother, Keith of Albion; and three grandchildren. The Janesville, Wis., native retired in 1995 after 32 years in maintenance at General Motors.
