Randy J. Smith, 30, of Ellettsville, died 2 a.m. Sunday in Bloomington.
Born Aug. 5, 1978, in Bloomington, he was the son of Lester W. Smith and Beverly Porter Thacker.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Beverly and Robert 'Tag' Thacker of Bloomington; his father, Lester W. Smith of Bloomington; one daughter, Cami Sue Smith-Breedlove of Smithville; one brother, Alan Smith of Springville; his grandmother, Alice Smith of Bloomington; his grandfather, Guy Thacker of Bloomington; and one nephew, Nathan Alan Smith of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Jarrell and Mary Porter, Lanford Smith and Betty Thacker.
Services were 1 p.m. Friday, August, 22, 2008 at Chandler Funeral Home with Timothy Shields officiating.

Frances L. Shields Osmon
Frances L. Shields Osmon, 80, of Bloomington went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born into the home of Clyde Miller and Iva (Fleetwood) Miller Brown on July 7, 1929 in Bloomington, IN. She retired from Zales Jewelers and the Peoples State Bank. Frances enjoyed time spent with her family. She was a member of the Pentecostal Faith Assembly, 11th Street.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Jim Brown; husband, Dr. Robert V. Osmon; sister, Maxine Horton; and, sons-in-law, Barney Bruce and John Hawes.
Frances is survived by her son, Richie Shields and his wife Becky of Bloomington; daughters, Vickie Bruce, Debbie Johnson and husband Mike all of Bloomington, and Teresa Price and husband Dean of Cloverdale, IN; step-children, Robert Osmon and wife Karen of Anthem, AZ; Juliana Judkins of Medlothion, TX, and Charles Osmon of Lafayette, IN; sister, Marcene Byers and her husband Joey of Bloomington; eighteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; one niece, one great-nephew, several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at the Pentecostal Faith Assembly Church, 1301 11th Street Bloomington on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Tommy Shields and Rev. Michael Douglas officiating. Entombment is to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at Chandler Funeral Home on Friday, November 13, 2009 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and then on Saturday one hour prior to the services at church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Bloomington Hospital, PO BOX 1149, Bloomington, IN 47402-9988

Phyllis Jean Smith
Phyllis J. Smith, 62, of Ellettsville, died at 7:15 a.m. Saturday at her residence.
She was born on March 16, 1948, in Martinsville to Lester Park and Marjorie Bailey Park. Phyllis worked in the accounting department at Sunrise Publications.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Richard “Dick” Smith, of Ellettsville; two sons, Rick Smith, of Ellettsville, and Rob Smith, of Omaha, Neb.; and seven grandchildren, Cory, Catilyn, Rylie, Serena, Sierra, Tyson and Isabell.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville. A funeral service is at 12 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with David Shirar officiating. Interment will be in West Newton cemetery in Mooresville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or Bloomington Hospital Hospice.

Troy Killinger
Troy Killinger, 55, of Bloomington passed away at his residence on Saturday, April 30, 2011.
He was born in Phoenix, AZ on May 27, 1955 to Archie and Maggie Caroline (Kerr) Killinger. Troy was a chef.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rudy Killinger, Ace R. Killinger, and Tally C. Killinger; sisters, Swanee R. Killinger, Trixie L. Killinger, and Dixie D. Rhodes; and niece, Callie Brown.
Troy is survived by his partner of 18 years, Janice Hurtuk; daughter, Jade Killinger both of Bloomington; brothers, R.E. Killinger (Faye) and Brad (Annette) Killinger both of Bloomington; sister, Archie Carol Maiorana of Strawberry, AZ; 12 nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held at Clear Creek cemetery on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 until 1:00 at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville.

Charles C. Francisco
Charles C. Francisco of Bloomington passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 09, 2011 at the age of 85.
Charles was born into the home of the late Hiram Francisco and Alice (Corbin) Francisco on June 23, 1925 in Monroe County. After graduating from Stinesville High School in 1943, he joined the Marine Corps and served during WWII, serving in the South Pacific. He retired from RCA, worked at Chevrolet in Indianapolis, and farmed and raised cattle. Charles attended the Liberty Church of Christ and was a member of the American Legion, Post #2000 in Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances E. (Starnes) Francisco and sister, Mary Brinson.
Charles is survived by his wife Barbara (Cherry) Francisco of Bloomington; daughters, Lynn Woods (Don) and Nancy Roberts (Wesley) both of Spencer and Nora Fulk (Michael) of Bloomington; son, James Francisco (Betty) of Norfolk, VA; and step-sons, Tom Reynolds of Williams, and Rick Reynolds of Bedford; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Chandler Funeral Home with Bro. Jarrod Jacobs officiating. Burial is to follow at Presbyterian cemetery with military honors provided by the Monroe County Honor Guard. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Royce S. Richey
Royce S. Richey, 76, of Gosport, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011 in Indianapolis at Indiana University Medical Center.
He was born September 15, 1934 in Owensboro, KY to Ervin and Jewel (Barrick) Richey. He was married to Wilma (Adams) Richey for 46 years, until her passing in 2003. Royce was a construction worker.
Royce is survived by his daughters, Vivian Rhude (Terry) of Paragon, Debra Richey (Stan) of Huntsville, AL, Susan Richey of Indianapolis, Rita Richey (Ted) of Las Vegas, NV, and Mitzie Richey (Brad) of Gosport; sisters, Katherine Baker of Indianapolis, Roberta Lawrence of Clarksville, and Sondra Brandmaier of Indianpolis; thirteen grandchildren, Terry Jr., Jackie, Carrie, Heather, Kent, Nicole, Mark, Corey, Josie, Brandon, Ashley, Kaitlynne, and Kiersten; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Royce S. Richey, Jr.; five brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home-Whitaker Chapel in Gosport on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Floral Park cemetery in Indianapolis. Visitation will be on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary Beth Johnson
Mary Beth Johnson, 56, died on Saturday morning, April 30, 2011 at her home in Madison.
She was born to the late Robert A. and Janet Ruth (Curry) Fisher on July 7, 1954 in Bloomington, IN.Mary Beth, better known as Beth Merrell on radio and television worked as a producer for WAVE-TV in Louisville from 1994 until 2000 in the internet, utility, news, weekend, and investigative units. Also at WAVE-TV Mary Beth was an on-air reporter and filled in as an assignment editor. She was a reporter, writer, producer and anchor for WHAS/WAMZ FM in Louisville from 1990 to 1994.She was nominated for an Emmy for team coverage of the 97 flood and won an Emmy for team coverage of the Bullitt County tornado in 1996. She won the Society of Professional Journalists Metro Journalism Award for best continuing coverage (95) and best deadline reporting (95) and the Kentucky AP best feature and best continuous news coverage (92). She served as the Past President of the KY AP Broadcasters Association.She worked at WGCL/WTTS in Bloomington from 87-89 as an anchor, reporter, producer and in public affairs and WWKI FM (83-87)and WIOU/WZWZ FM (80-82)in Kokomo. Mary Beth won the Indiana AP best use of radio sound, best series, and best general reporting award in 1989 and in 1988 the best spot news, and best single live breaking story, best news series and best documentary awards. In 1989 she won the Society of professional Journalists award for best documentary and runner-up best newscast and in 1987 she won the Indiana AP best newscast and best news series award. Mary Beth more recently worked at American Water in Greenwood as the external affairs manager for IN and OH and as the chief external affairs officer for the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. Mary Beth was a graduate of the 2005-2006 Lugar Series, and served as board member and past president of the Indiana Assembly Woman's Club and the past president of the Kentucky and Indiana AP Broadcasters Association.
Mary Beth is survived by her husband, former Indiana State Senator, Steve Johnson of Madison; two aunts, and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville, Indiana on Thursday, May 5, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Presbyterian cemetery in Ellettsville. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Paul Dean Davis
Paul Dean Davis, 55, of Gosport passed away at his residence on Thursday, July 7, 2011.
Paul was born in Detroit, MI on December 25, 1956 to the late Douglas Davis and Barbara (Whitfield) Davis. Paul worked as an automobile mechanic for over 25 years and for the past 4 had worked at High Speed Tire in Bloomington. He attended the House of Prayer in Ellettsville.
Paul is survived by his children, Cristle Davis and boyfriend Joseph Grove of Greencastle, Michael Wade Davis and William Grogan both of Cloverdale; fiance, Tammy Critchfield of Gosport; grandson, Alexzander Grove; brothers, Robert Jackson of Gosport and Sid Trimble of Cunot; step-children, Brooke Critchfield and Lorenzo Critchfield; several nieces and nephews; and many, many loving and loyal friends.
A memorial service for Paul will be held at a later date. Chandler Funeral Home-Whitaker Chapel in Gosport is assisting with arrangements.

George A. Flynn
George Andrew Flynn, 81, of Indianapolis formerly of Worthington passed away at his residence on Sunday, March 6, 2011.
He was born on May 23, 1929 to the late John and Edith (Grubb) Flynn. George owned Flynn Auto Parts in both Worthington and Spencer. He enjoyed music and was very talented in playing the guitar. He was a pilot and owned his own plane flying to many different places.
He was preceded in death by his son, George A. Flynn; sister, Jane Trammel; and granddaughter, Jessica Flynn.
George is survived by his companion, Ms. Jerry Hammock of Indianapolis; children, Aleatha Langley and husband Jim of Ellettsville, Rick Flynn and wife Debbie of Naples, FL, John Flynn and wife Marlenia of Spencer, Margie Stwalley and husband Warren of Ellettsville and Jim Flynn and wife Rosemary of Englis, FL; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; sister Margaret Dunn of Nashville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Donnie Bault andRev. Jim Langley officiating. Inurnment will be private at Chambersville cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 until the time of services.

Debra E. Oliver
Debra Eileen Oliver of Ellettsville died surrounded by her family after battling a long illness on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at her residence at the age of 55.
She was born in Piqua, Ohio on November 5, 1956 into the home of Gerald Cost and Virginia (Ostendorf) Cost. Debra worked in the grocery business managing an Aldis store but more recently she loved serving customers at the Cracker Barrel restaurant. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Bloomington. Debra was a nature lover spending many hours tending to her garden and taking in the beauty of the world around her. She had a way with animals since she was young and enjoyed all her pets passing this trait on to the rest of her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Cost.
Debra is survived by her mother, Virginia Cost of Stinesville; fianc, Terry Arthur of Ellettsville; siblings, Jackie Cost of Montgomery, IN, Colleen Conradt of Yorba Linda, CA, Rodney Cost of Evansville, Brett Cost and family of Charleston, WV, Pete Cost and family of Vincennes; nieces and nephews, Keisha Cost, Dalton Cost, Eli Cost, and Ethan Cost; Terry's daughter, Heather Arthur; Terry's grandchildren, Brayton, Dylan, Taylor, and Madelyn and Terry's son, Toby Arthur all of Ellettsville and her loyal dog and companion, Gordan.
Funeral services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Clear Creek cemetery. Friends may call upon the family on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 from 2-8 at the funeral home.

Alma L. Hostetler
Alma Lee Hostetler, 70, of Bloomington died on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at IU Health, Bloomington Hospital.
Alma was born on May 29, 1940 in Touristville, KY to Richard Wesley Rose and Florince Ruth (Hall) Rose. She worked at Hooks-Revco in different locations throughout Bloomington until her retirement after 25 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Scotty Dale Hostetler; brothers, Herman Rose, Jessie Rose, Hayden Rose, and Ray Rose and sisters, Esma Young, Glenna Durham, Juanita Ping, and Polly Taylor.
Alma is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert Hostetler; daughter, Karen Sue Hostetler; grandchildren, Megan LeeAnn Reynolds and Ryan Michael Reynolds all of Bloomington; brother, Cecil Rose of Monticello, KY; sisters, Gladine East of Monticello, KY and Rosetta Garnett of Kansas City, MO; several nieces and nephews. Robert and Karen would like to give special thanks to Almas caregivers, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Mary Hostetler.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 12 noon at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville with burial to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:30 until 8:30 at the funeral home.

Charles Connelly Stouder
Charles Connelly Stouder, born May 15, 1931 in Indianapolis, IN to the parents of Dr. Charles E. and Mary L. Stouder passed away from cardiac arrest in Olympia, WA on March 28, 2011.
Charlie (Connelly) grew up in Gosport, IN and lived in Bloomington, IN; Framingham, MA; and Santa Barbara, CA. He retired from the high technology vacuum industry in 2001 and moved from Santa Ana, CA to Olympia, WA. Connelly had a great love for life and people and will be missed by us all.
He is survived by his children, Deanna and Mark, his life partner, Jane, and his brother, Stephen.
A memorial service will be held at the Chandler Funeral Home-Whitaker Chapel in Gosport on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 2:00PM.

Doris A. Freeman
Doris Ann Liford Jackson Freeman, 78, died peacefully surrounded by family after a long struggle with Parkinsons disease on Sunday, May 29, 2011.
She was born in Bloomington on January 29, 1933, daughter of Charles and Peggy Liford. Doris retired from Cook Incorporated in 1996. Doris was a lifelong resident of the Bloomington-Ellettsville area and a member of the Ellettsville Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend and cherished time spent with family and friends. Her loving spirit will be greatly missed.
Survivors include daughters, Terri Jackson of Indianapolis, Rea (Jeff) Rhoads of Fishers, and Cheryl Jackson of Bloomington; adopted daughter, Sandy Moore; 7 grandchildren, Haley Narey Lawton, Jordan Narey, Sophia Rhoads, Griffin Rhoads, Erin Bush, Ashley Bush, and Ely Spears; great-grandchildren, DeShawn Jefferson, Drew Lawton and Caleb Brown; sister, Betty Goble; nieces and nephews as well as two lifelong friends, Beverly Dyer and Pruda Burcham; and her loving canine companion, Charley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Freeman; brothers, Charles, John Roy, and Robert Liford; and granddaughter, Camille Rhoads.
Calling will be on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 4-8 at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville. A celebration of Doriss life will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11:00 at Chandler Funeral Home. Interment is to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
