Beulah V. Berkshire

Beulah V. Berkshire, 108, of Burnettsville, passed away at 2:12 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008 in Memorial Hospital.
Born June 8, 1900 in Crisman, Illinois, she was the daughter of John and Catherine Maxwell Wilfong. Her first marriage was to Orval VanHuss who preceded her in death in 1935. She was married
to George McLeland who preceded her in death in 1957. She was married
to Fred Berkshire who also preceded her in death.
A homemaker, Beulah attended the Center Presbyterian Church. She was the oldest member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. She enjoyed crocheting and reading the Bible. At the time of her death, it is believed she was the oldest resident in the state of Indiana.
Surviving are Daughter, Mala Kauffman of Burnettsville, IN; 3 Step-sisters, Viola Wolvers and Bernice Wilfong, both of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Esther Schwinn of Crane, Missouri; 5 Grandchildren, David Kauffman and Russell Kauffman, both of Burnettsville, IN, Rowena McMasters and her husband Bill, of Delphi, IN, andMichael Kauffman and his wife Susan, and Blaine Kauffman, all of Monticello, IN; four great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one step-sister.
Friends will be received 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14th at the Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport, Indiana.
Services will be held at following the visitation at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday in Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2008, in Bono cemetery, near Clinton, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Bonnie C. Jourdan
November 13, 1931 - October 15, 2008
Bonnie C. Jourdan, 76, Logansport, died at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2008, in Heritage Health Center, Lafayette.
Born November 13, 1931, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Everett and Margaret Diamond Schoonover.
A homemaker, Bonnie enjoyed crafting and drawing pictures.
She was preceded in death by one foster daughter, Rita Spurgeon; one foster grandson, Alan Watts.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2008, in Mount Hope cemetery chapel. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Jay A. Martin
February 26, 1960 - October 22, 2008
Jay A. Martin, 48, Logansport, passed away at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2008, in his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born February 26, 1960, in Logansport, he was the son of Keith A. and Roselee B. Blackburn Martin. He was married
to Michele Kroeger Martin, who survives.
Jay attended Pioneer High School and graduated from Saint Louis High School in Honolulu, Hawaii.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps from 1978 to 1981.
For twenty-six years, Jay owned and operated Martin's Tree Service.
A member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church, Jay was also a member of the Coin Club and the Arborist Society.
Surviving with his wife are one sister, Lavona Martin, of Logansport;one brother-in-law James Brewer and his wife Holly, of Logansport; one sister-in-law, Lynne Morrison and her husband Mike, of Detroit, Michigan; three nieces and two nephews.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2008, in Fisher Funeral Chapel. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m Friday, October 24, 2008, in Fisher Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Burial, will full military rites conducted by members of the U.S. Marine Corps, will be in Davis cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hillcrest Baptist Church and the American Cancer Society.
Ella May Woodhouse
November 18, 1959 - October 27, 2008
Ella May Woodhouse, 48 of Logansport, IN, died at 5:30 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2008 in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Born November 18, 1959 in Logansport, Indiana, she was the daughter of Leo Absolene Woodhouse and the late Joan Helen Clark Woodhouse.
Ella May attended the Fulton Baptist Church. She enjoyed horses, drawing and doll collecting.
Surviving with her father, Leo A. Woodhouse of Logansport, are one brother, Richard Fulton Woodhouse of Logansport; several cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Services will be held at Fisher Funeral Chapel, at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2008, with Rev. George Hapner officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services in the funeral chapel.
Private interment will follow Friday in the Mt. Carmel cemetery, Twelve Mile.
Harriett N. Doss
March 22, 1916 - December 08, 2008
Harriett N. Doss, 92, a lifetime resident of Lafayette, died Monday, December 8, 2008, in Clarian Arnett Hospital.
Born March 22, 1916, in Tippecanoe County, she was the daughter of Lawrence D. and Cora E. (Lawson) Taylor.
A 1933 graduate of Klondike High School, Harriet was a graduate of Beauty College and had worked as a hairdresser for Jenny Gordon, Ivan Hufford and since 1957 at the House of James in Frankfort.
She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2570, a life member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 796 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary #1154. She enjoyed Bingo, NASCAR, Colts, spending time with her family.
Surviving are three daughters, Sue Krouger, of Tennessee, Connie Zarzour, of Lafayette, and Vicki Harrison and her husband Theodore, of Texas; her close friend, Betty McKendire, and serveral grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard D. and Charles L. Taylor.
Friends will be received Friday, Dec. 12th from 1 p.m. until the time of services at Fisher-Loy Funeral Chapel, Lafayette.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral chapel with Greg Eberhart officiating. Interment will follow in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.
Nadeania Louise "Dee" Smith
April 23, 1946 - December 14, 2008
Nadeania "Dee" Louise Smith, 62 years old of Stockwell, IN, died Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Regency Place.
She was born in Lafayette, IN on April 23, 1946, to the late Thomas Skinner Sr. and Delilah (Wilson) Skinner.
Dee graduated from Lauramie High School in 1964, where she participated in choir, 4-H, and Sunshine Club. She married
Charles Robert Smith on February 28, 1970 in Stockwell, IN. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1990.
Dee worked at Home Hospital for over 30 years as a ward secretary and psychological assistant.
Dee was a member of Stockwell United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed bird watching, cake decorating, collecting cookbooks, gardening, and crafts (especially crocheting and needle point).
Surviving are son, Kenneth Dale (wife: Sarah) Smith of South Bend, IN; a daughter, Dr. Michelle Kay (husband: David) Kloster of Downey, CA; a sister, Claudia (husband: Mark) McGuire of Griffith, IN; and 2 brothers, Donald (wife: Janice) Skinner of Lafayette, IN, Thomas (wife: Ronda) Skinner of Rossville, IN. She is also survived by her grandson, a German shepherd named Aslan.
Friends will be received at Fisher-Loy Funeral Chapel, Lafayette, on Wednesday, December 17 from 4pm to 7pm. Services will be held at the Stockwell United Methodist Church, on December 18 at 10:30am with Pastor Mark Berg officiating. Interment will follow in Yorktown cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Stockwell United Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society in memory of Dee.
Beverly Joan BeBee
March 20, 1928 - December 19, 2008
Beverly Joan BeBee, 80 of Logansport, died at 10:38 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2008 in Woodbridge Health Campus.
Born March 20, 1928 in Logansport, Indiana, she was the daughter of Benjamin B. and Frances I. Dunham Hankee. On May 26, 1946, she married
Richard Lyle BeBee, who preceded in death April 3, 1983.
She was retired from General Telephone where she had worked as a supervisor and operator.
Beverly was a devoted member of Cross~Wind United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the chancel choir and had served as church historian for many years. Beverly was also a member of the Sarah Hay Circle, the Triple S Bible Study group and was a member of the altar guild at church. She was a longtime member of the Lambda Chapter of Delta Chi Sigma International. She was a volunteer with the Emmaus Mission Center in the beginning years of their ministry to this community.
Some of the best times in her life revolved around her love of traveling and camping. Beverly was also a serious mushroom hunter. With a big smile and a personality to match, she was a joy to be around and she loved her family and friends dearly.
Surviving are one son, Bruce BeBee and his wife, Lana, of Huber Heights, OH; two daughters, Sherida "Sheri" Brower and her husband Bob, of Brownsburg, IN, and Julie Conn and her husband Jeff, of Logansport, IN; eight grandchildren, Jelane Johnson and her husband Dan Roth, of Frankfort, KY, Vonda Fruhwirth and her husband Brent, and Alice BeBee, all of Dayton, OH; Mark BeBee, of Phoenix, AZ; Amy Keller and her husband Josh, of Danville, IN, Janelle Stoner and her husband Heath, of Logansport, IN, Adam Brower and his wife Amy, of Pittsboro, IN, and Jennifer Conn, of Logansport, IN; and ten great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Rev. George Plasterer officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. Monday until the time of services in the funeral chapel. Interment will be in Mount Hope cemetery, Logansport.

Linda Lou Lemen

Linda Lou Lemen, 54 years old of Lafayette, IN, died Thursday, December 11, 2008 in Home Hospital.
Born February 27, 1954 in Lafayette, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Hodges Davis.
A homemaker, Linda was a member of Christ Memorial Temple.
Surviving are three sons and four daughters; Micheal Hardesty, Mount Morenci, Melanie McGill (David) Lafayette, Matthew Hardesty, Mount Morenci, Christina Gumm (Travis) Lafayette, Brandy Lemen, Lafayette, Justin Lemen, Lafayette, Rachel Lemen, Lafayette. Also surviving are 3 brothers and 2 sisters; William Lee Jackson (Patty), Joann Rich, Jane Smith, Danny Joe Davis, Jimmy Davis (Rosa) all of Clarks Hill. And 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sister, Mary "Sissy" Gordon; nephew, Sgt. David Jackson; and Sister-in-Law, Diana Lynn.
Services will be held 2pm Sat. Dec.13, 2008 at Fisher-Loy Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Anthony Carson officiating.
Interment will follow in the Clarks Hill cemetery, Clarks Hill, Indiana.
Friends will be received Sat. Dec.13, 2008 10am-2pm at the Fisher-Loy Funeral Chapel, Lafayette, Indiana. Services will be held 2pm Sat. Dec.13, 2008 at Fisher-Loy Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Anthony Carson officiating. Interment will follow in the Clarks Hill cemetery, Clarks Hill, Indiana.
Stuart W. Miller

Stuart W. Miller, 100 years old of Lafayette, IN, died Thursday, December 11, 2008 in Saint Anthony Health Care.
He was born October 3, 1908 in Salisbury, IL, to the late Harvey Jackson and Molly (Jacoby) Miller. He graduated from Springfield High School in Springfield, IL in 1927.
Stuart married
Helen L. Clemens in Kansas City, MO on December 1, 1934. She preceded him in death on July 29, 2003.
He worked as a field engineer for Burroughs Corporation, now Unisys Corporation, for 43 years, retiring in 1973.
He was a member of the Elks and Trinity United Methodist Church. Stuart enjoyed word puzzles, traveling, and watching basketball.
Surviving are a daughter, Sonya Koch (husband: Duane) of Lafayette; a brother, Gilbert Miller of Garden Grove, CA. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Interment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
He was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
Private Family Services will be held Monday, December 15 at the Fisher-Loy Funeral Chapel, Lafayette, Indiana. Interment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
