Myra L. (Spikes) Burke, 50 years old, of West Lafayette, Indiana, died on Friday, March 7, 2008 in her residence.
Born April 15, 1957 in Lafayette, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Joyce S. Spikes.
She was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and drawing.
Surviving is a son, James C. Burke of Lafayette, IN; 2 daughters, Jennifer (husband: Balis) Stiver of West Lafayette, IN, and Suzanne E. Burke of Lafayette, IN; 2 brothers, Ronald Spikes of Lafayette, IN, Kevin Spikes of Lafayette, IN. 2 grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter and a sister.
Friends will be received at the Fisher-Loy Funeral Chapel from 12 to 2 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2008. Services will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Greg Tyra officiating.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Jeryl Lynn Hamilton

Jeryl Lynn Hamilton, 59 of Logansport, IN, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2008 in her residence.
Born January 3, 1949 in Logansport, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late John and Agnes Rogers Moon. She was married
April 1, 1966, in Logansport, to Marvin Hamilton, who survives.
A homemaker, she was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed computers, especially internet gaming. For thirteen years, she had worked at National Friction.
Surviving with her husband of 41 years are 3 children, Tracey Cromartie, Stacey Black, and Casey Hamilton; 7 Grandchildren, Jeffrey Hamilton, Jordan Sullivan, Jasmine Sullivan, Jennifer Sullivan, Nicole Black, Nathan Black, and Ceylan Cromartie; 2 Brothers, John B. Moon and Jimmy Moon; 4 Sisters, Shirley Vanderbilt, Phyllis Michael, Connie Sturgeon and Sondra Leazenby; and Several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Moon; her mother, Agnes Hartman; her stepfather, Jessie Hartman; and one sister, Virginia Alderson.
There will be no services or visitation. Burial will be in the Mount Hope cemetery. Fisher Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
Contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Rodney Busard
May 10, 1928 - March 25, 2008
Rodney Busard, 79, Logansport, passed away at 12:25 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008, in his home, surrounded by his family.
Born May 10, 1928, in Logansport, he was the son of Albert and Roxie Faye (Roller) Busard. He was born and died on the same farm.
He graduated from Royal Center High School in 1946.
On October 16, 1949, he was married
to Edna Mae Love, who survives. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He loved making happy memories with his family.
Rodney was a dairy and grain farmer who loved working on his family farm. He enjoyed raising Holstein cattle, traveling, fishing and playing euchre with family and friends. He was a lifelong member of Shiloh Christian Church and was strong in his faith.
Also surviving are two sons, son Ron Busard and his wife Kian and their children, Kyle(wife Barbara), Nathan and Marly, and son Al Busard and his wife Kim and their children, Ethan and Rodney Jordan, all of Logansport; two daughters, daughter Trudy Colsten and her husband Bruce and their children, Joshua, Ben and Tiffany, and daughter Rita Berkshire and her husband Steve and their children, Lacey, Lane and Alexa, all of Logansport; one sister, Florence Myers, of Logansport; one brother-in-law James Love and his wife Verna, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one sister-in-law, Lou Ann Stoner and her husband Terry, of Goshen; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Alma Busard and Opal Jackson.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008, in Fisher Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Shiloh Christian Church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2008, and one hour prior to the services on Saturday in Fisher Funeral Chapel
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rodney Busard Family Scholarship fund in care of Cass County Community Foundation.
Robert Werner

Robert Werner, formerly of Logansport, died Sunday, March 30, 2008, in Logansport.
Born January 7, 1923, in Richards, Missouri, he was the son of Nathan R. and Nelle Mae Yager Werner.
Bob graduated from Idaville High School at the age of fifteen. He worked as a commercial and residential builder for many years. He had also worked as a stock broker. For over 60 years, he was a licensed pilot. He bought his first plane in 1947 and was one of the original Flying Farmers of America.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Interment will be in Riverview I.O.O.F. cemetery, Monticello.
Helen M. Thompson

Helen M. Thompson, 86, Logansport, died at 12:10 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008, in Miller's Merry Manor.
Born February 2, 1922, in Camden, Indiana, she was the daughter of Orrie and Elizabeth Twaits Judy. On July 3, 1948, in Camden, she was married
to Faye Devon Thompson, who preceded her in death.
On August 1, 1984, Helen retired from Cass County Tire, where she had worked for many years.
Helen was a member of the Baptist-Christian Church in Royal Center.
She is survived by one son, John M. Harvey, Delphi; one stepson, Thomas F. Thompson, Burrows ; and five granddaughters, Judy Harvey, Nina Ziegelman, Dorene Ohrt, Darlene Agee, and Nancy Winter; two grandsons, Devon Spears and Darrin Thompson; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Lee Harvey; one brother, Ellis Edward Judy; and one grandchild, Jodie Lynn Harvey.
Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008, in Fisher Funeral Chapel. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008, in Fisher Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Richard Utterback officiating. Burial will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
William A. Shaffer

William A. Shaffer, 57 of Logansport, IN, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008 in his residence.
He was born May 10, 1950 in Logansport, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Helen M. (Shaffer) and Wickham Larzelere.
Mr. Shaffer was a veteran of the United States Army.
He had worked for several years as a draftsman. He had also been employed at IBP, Inc.
He was a member of American Legion Post 60, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3790 and the Eagles Aerie No. 323..
Surviving are one daughter, Kimberly R. Shaffer; one son, Scott A. Shaffer; one sister, Lorretta Weyers and her husband, Greg; one brother, Harrison Larzelere; and his former wife, Linda Shaffer.
Graveside services at the Mount Hope cemetery's Legion Circle will be held at a later date. Fisher Funeral Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
David L. Emmons

David L. Emmons, 54, Logansport, died at 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2008, in the St. Vincent Heart Center of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Born July 3, 1953, in Greenville, Ohio, he was the son of the late John E. Emmons and Juanita Watson Emmons, who survives in Logansport. He was married
July 17, 1971, in Logansport, to Janice Piercy, who survives.
A 1971 graduate of Logansport High School, David worked for the Logansport Auto Tech Auto Parts in outside sales.
He attended the Yorktown Road Church of Christ. David was a NASCAR fan, especially when it came to Jeff Gordon. He enjoyed all sports but baseball was his favorite.
Surviving with his wife and mother are 2 Sons, David Emmons Jr., and Dustin Emmons, both of Logansport; 3 Sisters, Diane (Denny)Johnson of LaGrange, Shirley J. (Ron)Kuzmaul of Camden, and Sharon(Jerry) Widner of Winamac; Brother, George Emmons of Logansport; grandchildren, Veronica Emmons, Louisville, KY, Brooke and Bailey Weaver, Royal Center, and Jarryd Woodruff, Logansport; his mother-in-law, Donna Grandstaff Piercy, Logansport; sisters-in-law, Susan (John L.) Carlson, Port Clinton, Ohio, and Sheila Piercy, Logansport; aunts and uncles, Carolyn Fultz, Mary Jane (Robert) Powell, and Tom (Juanita) Watson, all of Logansport, Dwight Emmons, Greenville, Ohio, and Mary Jane Wittaker, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Emmons; one son, Travis Wayne Emmons; one brother, John Paul Emmons; and his father-in-law, Estal Wayne Piercy.
Friends will be received Thursday, June 12, 2008 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport, Indiana.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2008 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rick Woodall officiating.
Interment will follow in the Davis cemetery, near Burnettsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana.
Basil Gene Timmons Sr.

Basil Gene Timmons, Sr., 73 of Lucerne, died at 9:28 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2008 in St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis.
Born October 1, 1934, in Lake Cicott, Indiana, he was the son of Basil James and Laura Edith Crumett Timmons. He was married
December 24, 1955, in Logansport, to Judith "Judy" Benn, who survives.
He was a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and his church family.
He was a quality control technician with General Tire for over 40 years.
Surviving with his wife are 2 Daughters, Terresa M. Pruitt, and Melissa Benish and her husband Jeff, all of Logansport, IN; 3 Sons, Ed Timmons and his wife Kim, and Jack Timmons and his wife Kathy, all of Oklahoma City, OK, and B.J. Timmons and his wife Casey, of Lucerne, IN; Sister, Shirley Honeycutt of Peru, IN; Brother, Ivan D. Timmons of Logansport, IN; 4 half-brothers, Richard Allen and his wife Sharon, of Logansport, IN, Bobbie Joe Timmons of Lafayette, TN, Rodnee L. Timmons of Logansport, IN, Jimmie Lee Timmons of Delphi, IN; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Marilyn Timmons, and his step-father, Loren J. Allen.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2008, in the Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses, 309 West Northern Ave., Logansport. Private graveside services were held Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, in the Ever Rest Memorial Park cemetery.
Beulah V. Berkshire

Beulah V. Berkshire, 108, of Burnettsville, passed away at 2:12 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008 in Memorial Hospital.
Born June 8, 1900 in Crisman, Illinois, she was the daughter of John and Catherine Maxwell Wilfong. Her first marriage was to Orval VanHuss who preceded her in death in 1935. She was married
to George McLeland who preceded her in death in 1957. She was married
to Fred Berkshire who also preceded her in death.
A homemaker, Beulah attended the Center Presbyterian Church. She was the oldest member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. She enjoyed crocheting and reading the Bible. At the time of her death, it is believed she was the oldest resident in the state of Indiana.
Surviving are Daughter, Mala Kauffman of Burnettsville, IN; 3 Step-sisters, Viola Wolvers and Bernice Wilfong, both of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Esther Schwinn of Crane, Missouri; 5 Grandchildren, David Kauffman and Russell Kauffman, both of Burnettsville, IN, Rowena McMasters and her husband Bill, of Delphi, IN, andMichael Kauffman and his wife Susan, and Blaine Kauffman, all of Monticello, IN; four great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one step-sister.
Friends will be received 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14th at the Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport, Indiana.
Services will be held at following the visitation at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday in Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2008, in Bono cemetery, near Clinton, Indiana.

Bonnie C. Jourdan, 76, Logansport, died at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2008, in Heritage Health Center, Lafayette.
Born November 13, 1931, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Everett and Margaret Diamond Schoonover.
A homemaker, Bonnie enjoyed crafting and drawing pictures.
She was preceded in death by one foster daughter, Rita Spurgeon; one foster grandson, Alan Watts.
