Rozella M. Meadows
January 29, 1929 - May 17, 2013
Rozella M. (Cordray) Meadows, 84, of Lafayette, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013 at IU Health Arnett Hospital.
Born on January 29, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Katie Cordray.
Rozella was married
to Earl Meadows in 1950. They later divorced. He preceded her in death in 2011.
She graduated from Connersville High School in 1947. She then went on to work as a waitress at Holiday Inn Sarge Oaks. In her spare time, Rozella enjoyed shopping.
She is survived by her three sons, Phillip (Kim) Meadows of Minnesota, Terry Meadows of Lafayette, and Brad (Sonya) Meadows of Lafayette; her two daughters, Connie (Stan) Bechner of Texas, and Dawn (Mike) Hummer of Lafayette; 13 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Vic, her daughter, Vicky, two brothers, and five sisters.
Fisher Funeral Chapel, Lafayette, is handling the arrangement.
There will be no services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Michael R. Nickels
August 28, 1950 - March 11, 2014
Michael R. Nickels, 63 of Logansport, passed away at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in his home.
Born August 28, 1950 in Peru, he was the son of the late James W. and Dona Elizabeth Sivits Nickels. On June 8, 1973, he was married
to Kathy Russell Nickels, who survives.
Michael was a welder. He served two tours of duty in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. From 1969-1970 he served in the 4th Infantry and from 1971-1972 he served in the 101st Airborne division.
He was a life member of the VFW Post 3790 in Logansport and the HCVVO of Kokomo. Michael's hobbies included bowling and playing pool. He also loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Surviving with his wife of 40 years are one daughter, Jennifer L. Nickels of Logansport; one son, Everett (Nick) V. Nickels of Logansport; two brothers, James I. Nickels of Peru and Charles E. Nickels of Logansport; two sisters, Rosemarie Homme and Beverly J. Nickels, both of Logansport; 4 Grandchildren, Scott Turner, Jordan Tidler, Michael Nickels III and Addisyn Nickels.
He was preceded in death by two sons and one brother.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Jeff Strite officiating.
Interment, with full military honors, will follow in the Ever Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday, March 15 at the Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport, Indiana.

Carol Lee Aldridge

Carol Lee Aldridge, 79, of Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at home.
She is survived by her children, Mary Rodman of Lafayette and Max E. (Sharon) Whitlock of Mulberry, and a brother, Wayne Redington of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Allan Whitlock and Richard Whitlock.
There will be no services. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Emery L. Baer
November 30, 1928 - April 24, 2014
Emery's Funeral Service is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 30th
Emery L. Baer, 85 of Logansport, passed away unexpectedly at 9:55 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014 in the emergency room at Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born November 30, 1928 in Logansport, Indiana, he was the son of the late George and Zella Cress Baer. On February 14, 1960, in Rochester, he was married
to Arlene Arvin Baer, who survives.
Emery attended Logansport High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the start of the Korean War. His entry scores were high, securing his role in the military as a medic. Since the Marines did not have a medic classification at the time, he wore both uniforms. After his service, he returned home and completed his high school education.
He began his career with the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1951 as a brakeman. He was promoted to flagman and retired from ConRail as a conductor after 38 years on the railroad.
A man of noble character, Emery was a loving, devoted caregiver to his wife. He lived his life with a total love for each member of his family. His daughter and granddaughter were the joys of his life. As the firstborn of a family of 9, his siblings looked up to him as the family patriarch. The impact of his sudden loss is immeasurable.
Emery was a member of Logansport's Tipton Masonic Lodge #33 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3790. He also enjoyed gardening.
Surviving with his wife are one daughter, Cynthia Baer of Logansport; one granddaughter, Shannon Brummitt, of Logansport; two brothers, Allen (Rita) Baer of and Robert (Marilyn) Baer, all of Logansport; three sisters, Mary Emery, Marcella (Donald) Rist and Evelyn (Gary) Byers, all of Logansport; and one sister-in-law, Barb Baer of Logansport and one brother-in-law Thomas Parkins, of Logansport.
He was preceded in death by brother Herbert "Ben" Baer; and two sisters, Luila "Lou" Berkshire and Rita Parkins.
A funeral service will be held at Fisher Funeral Chapel, Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Emery's nephew, Pastor Dan Gipson officiating.
Interment, with full military honors, will follow in the Mount Hope cemetery.
Friends will be received 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 29th at the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Roy Allen Slade
July 06, 1954 - April 16, 2014
Roy Allen Slade, 59, of Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at home.
He was born on July 6, 1954 to the late Raymond C. Slade. Roy graduated from Lafayette Jeff High School in 1972 and joined the U.S. Army where he served from 1972 to 1974 in Germany as a Redliner.
He was married
to Carla Jones from 1976 to 1981; she survives in Lafayette. From 1988 to 1995, he was married
to Carol Korty; she survives in Lafayette.
Roy owned and operated Slade Heating and Air for 20 years. He previously worked for Purdue University in heating and air and for the Monon Railroad.
He enjoyed riding Harleys, listening to music, was known to have a “green thumb”, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his children, Kylee Slade (Ian Livers) of Lafayette, Nick Slade of Lafayette, and Emma Slade of Bloomington; several brothers and sisters; and grandchildren, Harper Slade and Lydia Livers.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Marion Tetzloff.
A Memorial Service with Military Rites will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 7:30 at Fisher Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel.

Karen Denise Combs

Karen Denise Combs, 58, of Lafayette, passed away on May 7, 2014 at home.
She was born on September 6, 1958 in Bethesda, Maryland to the late Madison W. Combs, Sr. and Elissia E. (Atwell) Combs.
Karen enjoyed rescuing dogs and cats.
Surviving is her brother, Madison (MaryAnn) W. Combs, Jr. of Woolrich, PA.
No Services will be held.
Helen Louise Clark Otto

Helen L. Clark Otto, 84 of Logansport, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2014 in Chase Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born September 1, 1929 in Delphi, she was the daughter of the late Ora and Laura Louise Suddoth Shackelford. She was married
to Dale E. Otto who preceded her in death in 1986.
Helen was retired from RBM where she had worked in assembly. She was a member of the Bethel Temple. She was also a member of VFW and American Legion Ladies Auxiliaries.
Private burial took place Monday in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.
Arrangements were entrusted to Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Donald Edward Servis
March 10, 1935 - May 14, 2014
Donald E. Servis, 79, of Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in Heritage Healthcare.
Donald was born on March 10, 1935 in Lafayette. He was the oldest child of Ed and Mary Swanson Servis.
After graduating from high school, he served in the Army Reserve for 6 1/2 yrs., then married
his high school sweetheart, Kathleen Tweedie. They had 3 beautiful children together; daughter, Annette Long (husband: Dennis), sons, David Tritschler (wife: Perie) and Douglas, who died at birth.
Also surviving are Don’s siblings, brothers, Estin Servis (wife: Connie) and Kenneth Servis (wife: Harriett) and sisters, Charlene Kerkhove, Wilma Fultz, and Cathy Saik (husband: Rich).
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen Tweedie Servis; son, Douglas Servis; parents, Edward and Mary Servis; brother-in-law, Jerry Fultz; step-son, Marvin Muston; and mother and father-in-law, Bill and Rose Linder.
In 1980, Don was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was privileged to Auxiliary Pioneer.
On January 17, 1981, Don married
Margaret “Peggy” McGlothlin and became the step father of her 10 children, 6 of whom were still at home. However, instead of Don adopting her 6 children left at home, they all adopted Don, including the oldest of Peggy’s children who no longer lived at home. Surviving are his step- sons, Gene Muston (wife: Sandy), Marty Douglass (wife: Tina), and Daniel McGlothlin (companion: Shannon); step-daughters, Angela Harper (husband: John), Pauline Stillabower (husband: Bob), Serene Clevenger (husband: Steve) Tracy McGlothlin, Sarah Muston, and Rhonda Spencer (husband: Richard).
Don had many, many beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren.
We would like to acknowledge his other family-the staff of Heritage Healthcare. They loved and took very good care of Don and we appreciate them all for treating him with dignity.
A Memorial Service will be held on May 24, 2014 at 4 p.m. at the Lafayette East Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 2224 East State Street. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher Funeral Chapel.
William (Bill) Piotrowski Jr.
May 11, 2014
William "Bill" Piotrowski Jr., 73, of Logansport, passed away at 5:21 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2014 in his home with his loving family by his side just twenty days after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Born May 9, 1941 in Summerlee, West Virginia, he was the son of the late William Sr. and Charlotte Mae Williams Martin. On November 7, 1964, in Logansport, he was married
to Annis Lea Burton Piotrowski, who survives.
Bill attended high school in Marlington, West Virginia, He worked as a coal miner in West Virginia. He had a very strong work ethic. He moved to Logansport in 1990 and was retired from Rochester Metals.
Bill was very involved with his grandchildren. Whether it be a sporting event or a 4-H horse or dog show - he was their #1 fan, there cheering them on. He enjoyed water sports, especially swimming and skiing. He loved dogs and horses. Bill was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving with his wife of 50 years are four children and their spouses, Loren Stephanie Piotrowski of Griffin, Georgia, Kathy Steve Rider of Lafayette, Wendy Arless Denzel Seabolt of Rochester, and John Steven Christina Piotrowski of Logansport; one sister, Stella Ann Lowery, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Nathan, Holly and Rebecca Rider, Mark and Samantha Seabolt and Luke and Brandon Piotrowski; and one great-granddaughter, Sophia Seabolt.
He was preceded in death by son William Mark Piotrowski and sister, Betty Landis.
Family and friends will be received 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service which will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mark Spencer officiating.
Interment will follow in the Ever Rest Memorial Park.
