Margaret R. Johnson, 81, of Brazil died June 3, 2003 at 10:16 am at Union Hospital. She was born January 20, 1922 in Summerset, KY the daughter of Frank and Cora Adams.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed her birds, plants, and cooking. She was married to Frank Samuel Wright and to Kenny Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Myrtle Williams; two brothers Bob Adams and Walton McKinney; children, Brenda Wright Allen, Roy Rogers Wright, Mary DeBoard Ganford and several other children in infancy.
She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Walker and husband Jerry of Brazil and Faye Butler of Goshen, OH; sons Frank Wright Jr. of Brazil and Sherman DeBoard of Indianapolis; a daughter-in-law Pearl Wright of Brazil; one brother Joe Adams of Indianapolis; a brother-in-law John Williams and sister-in-law Dorothy Adams both of Morgantown, IN; grandchildren, Heather Walker-Padgett of Evansville, Shannon Butler of Goshen, OH, William Smith, Debbie Merritt, and Phyllis Wright Powell all of Indianapolis, Sherry Smith of Florida, and several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Robin Timberman, Della Weishaupt, and Terry Harrison of Brazil.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 7, 2003 at 1:00 pm at French Funeral Home with Rev. Marshall Hendrix officiating. Burial will follow at East Hill cemetery in Morgantown, IN. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
No specific donations at this time.

Merle Eleanor Hester
June 20, 1916 - April 19, 2003
Merle Eleanor Smith Hester, 86, of Greencastle, IN., died April 19, 2003 at Asbury Towers where she was a resident.
She was born in Indianapolis on June 20, 1916 the daughter of Guy B. Smith and Elizabeth Ozment Smith.
She had worked as an office manager at Charleston Courier in Charlestown, IN for many years. She also worked at old Stewarts Department Store in Louisville, KY. She was a member of the Wall Street United Methodist Church in Jeffersonville. She taught the high school sunday school class at Charlestown Methodist Church for ten years and was always active in her church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson Mark Grove.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years Jack Hester; three daughters, Cecille Wassing of Clarksville, IN., Julia Donnell of Crawfordsville, IN., Debbie Caudill of Fort Pierce, FL., and one son David Hester of Bethesda, MD; one brother Dallas Smith; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
At her request cremation is scheduled. Memorial services will be Saturday, April 26, 2003 at 3:30 PM at Asbury Towers Chapel.

Mary Jane Killion
April 19, 1922 - July 15, 2003
Mary Jane Killion, 81, of Brazil died July 15, 2003 at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.
She was born April 19, 1922 in Staunton the daughter of Renos and Ethel Wells Megenhardt. She graduated from Ashboro High School Class of 1940. On January 31, 1942 she married Wilbert Killion, he survives.
She was a member of Center Point OES and Home Ec Club. She was a former member of EUB Church in Center Point. She enjoyed boating and water skiing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Elizabeth Jenkins and two brothers, Ray Megenhardt and Rex Megenhardt.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Wilbert Killion; two sisters, Dortha "Dot" Urbain of Center Point and Peggy Latham of Brazil; two brothers, Bill Megenhardt and wife Nancy of Center Point and Richard Megenhardt of Terre Haute; brother-in-law, Harold Dierdorf and wife Rosemary of Harrison, OH; two sister-in-laws, Helen Megenhardt and Gladys Megenhardt; many nieces and nephews including special nieces and nephews, Jerry Barrett, Dianna Harstine, Robin Royce, Tammy Morse and other extended family.
Services will be Saturday, July 19, 2003 at 11:00 am at French Funeral Home with Rev. Marshall Hendrix officiating. Burial will follow in Union cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 18th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home with Eastern Star services at 7:00 pm.

Kathleen F. Fidler
November 27, 1927 - July 17, 2003
Kathleen F. Fidler, 75 of Brazil died July 17, 2003 at her residence. She had been battling cancer.
She was born November 27, 1927 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Mary Nelson Burns. She married John R. Fidler February 27, 1947.
She enjoyed crafts, baking, reading and collecting dolls. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Annunciation Church.
She is survived by her husband John Fidler of Brazil; 10 children, Shari Fidler of Florida, Mary Waidlich of Brazil, John Fidler and wife Robin of Williamsburg, VA., Billie Wright and husband Jerry of CA., Nancy Carter and husband Bill of Indianapolis, Steve Fidler of Avon, Jim Fidler of Indianapolis, Vicki Nichols of Brazil, Chris Fidler of Indianapolis, and Laurie Pierce and husband Brian of Brazil; three step sons, Buddy Fidler, Bucky Fidler, and Mike Fidler all of Indianapolis; 31 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one son Larry Fidler.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Sunday at 6:30 pm at Annunciation Church with Father Rob Hausladen officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview cemetery.
Visitation will be at French Funeral Home Saturday from 4-8 pm and again Sunday at 5:00pm. Rosary will be at 7:00 pm Saturday.
The family requests that Memorials be made to Hospice of the Wabash Valley.

Kellyn Renee Andrews
December 19, 1985 - August 06, 2003
Kellyn Renee Andrews, 17, of Brazil died August 6, 2003 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born December 19, 1985 in Terre Haute, the daughter of Dale Andrews and Robin Deardorff Andrews.
She was entering her senior year at Northview High School. She had been an active student at Northview, among activities, she was on the student council, photography editor for the yearbook, Class President and homecoming court her sophomore year, She participated in Northview Marching Knights, playing the clarinet for three years. Her love of sports came in the form of soccer. She excelled in soccer, making the All Conference Team in the WIC. She also played on the Terre Haute Flyers Soccer travel team. She was a member of the National Honor Society.
She is survived by her mother and step father, Robin Andrews and Kendel Utter of Brazil; father and step-mother, Dale Andrews and Cindy Andrews of Terre Haute; one sister, Amy Phillips of Indianapolis, three brothers, Jacob Andrews, and Trever Fehrenbach of Brazil, Chad Andrews of Terre Haute; step-brother James Wallace of Terre Haute; grandmother, June Andrews of Terre Haute; step-grandfather Donald V. Utter; two aunts Renee Frazier and her husband Russ, Marilyn Hoffmann and husband Ronnie; three uncles, Ron Timberman and wife Sandy, and Jim Andrews and wife Marcie, and Ron Deardorff; 2 nieces Kailynn Phillips and Chloe Phillips, and one nephew, Kyler Wallace.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lillian Deardorff, Paul Deardorff; James Andrews; and step-grandmother Jean Deardorff.
A Celebration of Kellyn’s life will be held Saturday at 2:00pm at Northview High School Auditorium. Bob Medworth will be the spearker. Music will be provided by Steve McCullough. Visitation will be Friday at French Funeral Home from 4-8pm. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00am until 2:00pm at the Northview High School Auditorium.
The family requests that no flowers be sent. They would direct memorials to the Clay County YMCA in Kellyn’s memory.

Mr. Roy Edison Allman
Mr. Roy Edison Allman, 94, of Seymour, IN, passed away at 1:56 pm Sunday, November 9, 2008 at The Waters of Seymour.
Mr. Allman was born in Spraytown, IN, on August 13, 1914, the son of Edward and Ivy (Hendershot) Allman.
On January 31, 1938, in Spraytown, IN, he married Frieda Wright, who survives.
Roy was employed as a self employed carpenter, retiring in 1976. He served in the U.S. Army and was the oldest living WWII veteran in Jackson County. He was an avid hunter for most of his life. Mr. Allman was a member of the VFW Post #1925 and the American Legion Post #89.
He is survived by his wife; children; Judy Norris, Russell (Gloria) Allman, Thomas (Karen) Allman, 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
He is preceded by his parents and one son; Lawrence W. "Larry" Allman and 13 brothers and sisters; and 2 great grandsons.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Larry Robbins at 1:00pm Wednesday November 12, 2008 at Voss Funeral Service.
Burial will be at Riverview cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post #1925, American Legion #89, DAV #47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans #7, all of Seymour.
Friends may call from 11:00 am until service time Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be written to the Alzheimer's Association.

Michelle Marie Barnett

Dennis William Barnett Jr. 34, of Brazil died August 4, 2003 and his wife Michelle Marie Barnett, 32, of Brazil died August 5, 2003 in Denver, CO from injuries sustained in a semi-truck accident. She was born January 26, 1971 in Terre Haute, the daughter of Tony Valentic and Shelia Hicks. She attended Terre Haute North High School and graduated from Northview High School. She obtained her teaching degree in elementary education from ISU, and her masters degree from Indiana Wesleyan in 2003. She taught at Otter Creek Middle School for 8 years. She was the language arts teacher, the audio-visual and in-house television authority. She was devoted to her teaching and involved her husband in many projects. They loved to travel, scuba dive, camp and indulge in their nieces and nephews.
Dennis was born January 4, 1969 in Terre Haute the son of Dennis Barnett Sr. and Mona Stephens. He graduated from Northview High School and completed two years at ISU. He served in the US Army. He and Michelle were married April 15, 1989. Dennis worked part-time for Hobby Trucking and also worked as a wildlife recovery technician. He built he and Michelle's home and helped on numerous classroom projects. They always opened their home to children in need and to any animal that needed a home.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 12th at 11:00 am at French Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Hess and Father Rob Hausladen officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill cemetery in Riley. Visitation will be Monday, August 11, 2003 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home and again Tuesday prior to services.
The families request that memorial contributions be made to Otter Creek Middle School, "Barney Fund" to assist children in need, 4801 N. Lafayette, Terre Haute, IN 47805. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Abram Albert Winn
January 28, 1920 - September 24, 2003
Abram A. Winn, 83 of Brazil died September 24, 2003 at Terre Haute Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born January 28, 1920 in Fontanet, the son of Lewis Albert Winn and Gladys Miller Winn. He graduated from Fontanet High School. He was a truck driver for Wabash Valley Trucking, retiring in the late 70’s. He then worked for Amax Coal Company, in their farming division, retiring in 1984.
March 12, 1983 he married Maxine Buck Winn, she survives.
Other survivors include, three sons and daughters in law, Larry and Shirley Winn, James and Lorraine Winn all of Brazil, Al and Jayne Winn of Knightsville; stepchildren, Linda Morris of Brazil, James Morris of Washington State, Dorothy Ferry and husband David Ferry of Bedford, and Tony Morris and wife Becky of Brazil; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nellie South and her husband Francis of Brazil, Ada Boyll and husband Lawrence of Farmersburg; two brothers Paul Winn of Fontanet, Theodore Russell and wife Pat of Nashville, TN.; several nieces and nephews and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Patricia Moore, and Alice Bowman; one son Donnie Winn; one brother Ralph Winn and a sister Phebe Nichols.
Services will be held Friday at 2:00pm at French Funeral Home with Pastor David Ferry officiating. Burial will follow at Bee Ridge cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8pm and again Friday prior to services.
No specific donations at this time.

Carl C. Miller
March 21, 1920 - October 04, 2003
Carl C. Miller, 83 of Brazil died October 4, 2003 at 10:10am at Cloverleaf Healthcare Facility. He had been a resident there for only a few days.
He was born March 21, 1920 in Brazil, the son of Charles and Elsie Mace Miller.
He attended Brazil High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.
He worked as a truck driver for Eastern Express and Roadway Express. He was a member of the Teamsters Union. After retiring from trucking, he worked as a guard at Putnamville Correctional Facility.
He was a past commander of the VFW #1127 and a member of the American Legion Post #2. He was an avid golfer for many years. He also enjoyed fishing and rabbit hunting.
He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Jeff and Kimberly Miller of Brazil; a step-daughter and son in law, Bonnie and Bill Hughes of West Terre Haute; 4 grandchildren, Shelby Burgeron and husband David, Bryar Miller, Luke Miller and Robyn Purddy and husband Alan; 4 great-grandchildren, David Michael Burgeron, Katie Lou, Gage Tad, and Michael William.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Louise Foor Miller; one sister Clara Griffith; 6 brothers, Herbert Miller, Benny Miller, Gene Miller, Wallace Miller, Clarence Miller, and Herman Miller.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00am at French Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn cemetery. Military graveside services will be provided by American Legion Post #2 and VFW #1127. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8pm and again Tuesday prior to services. Military walk-in will be at 6:30pm Monday.
No specific donations at this time.

James W. Stephenson
April 02, 1924 - December 13, 2003
James W. Stephenson, 79 of Brazil died December 13, 2003, at 3:30am, unexpectedly at the home of his niece. He was born April 2, 1924 in Clay County, the son of Homer and Lilly Hawkins Stephenson. He stayed at home with his parents until they passed away. He then lived with his nieces and nephews. He attended the Church of the Living Christ.
He is survived by his niece Linda Gorrall and her husband James of Brazil, nephew Charles Stephenson and wife Beverly also of Brazil, nephew Terry Stephenson and wife Linda of Greencastle, niece Pauleda York of Reelsville; and a niece by marriage, Veronica Stephenson of Brazil; other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Robert Stephenson, one sister Daisy Banks; one nephew, Ronnie Stephenson.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 1:00pm at Bee Ridge cemetery. Pastor Don Black will be officiating. Arrangements were handled by French Funeral Home.
